why, all they do is tap people on the shoulder and say some things at christmas. lets take that away because they have too much power.
They should not have any.
I'm so mad we have a monarch that generates wealth for the country and is part of our national identity GRRRR!!
Plays the part of being ignored on a regular basis sure.
It plays a far larger role than the monarchy's done for years. [editline]28th April 2011[/editline]
I'm so mad we have a monarch that generates wealth for the country and is part of our national identity GRRRR!!
No one's being angry or angsty, stop trying to misconstrue messages.
Ok let's get rid of a major part of our national identity!!! Why don't you guys get rid of your constitution?
i would but we don't have one
ok so why shouldn't we have a monarchy
it's an almost entirely pointless relic of an awful political system?
i would but we don't have one
Nonsense, you live in California.
It plays a far larger role than the monarchy's done for years.
guys remember when the queen had an active role in governing the country
FYI the reason I compared the Monarchy to the Constitution is because they both played a vital part in establishing the laws of the nation, are parts of the national identity and both are largely redundant now. Monarchy is redundant because we're governed by something else and the constitution is redundant because everything in it has been legislated in different bits of law
i like the royals, they keep history and traditions alive and create a great image for the country. i see alot of people who seem to hate them for no reason other than to be ~angsty~ , they do a great job of representing the country and generally do nice things.
Totally this, and it would always be nice to have them around, even if it's just ceremonially like the Emperor of Japan, well hell, they pretty much are that
it's an almost entirely pointless relic of an awful political system?
that generates money for the government and the people and sets up charities? fucking bastards

As long as its provisions remain I don't care about it. It's just a bit of paper.

The monarchy re-inforces nothing but the ideals and emotions of a dead age.
johnnymo1 has no reason to disagree other than he doesn't like them because they are in the media a bunch or something.
light the constitution on fire. As long as its provisions remain I don't care about it. It's just a bit of paper.
So you're saying we should light the Monarchy on fire???
The constitution serves to re-inforce the rights and laws of the US, at this point anyway. The monarchy re-inforces nothing but the ideals and emotions of a dead age.
i feel so oppressed in the uk right now by the monarchy oh no!
that generates money for the government and the people and sets up charities? fucking bastards
see previous arguments
So you're saying we should light the Monarchy on fire???
No but okay that sounds fun too not the monarchs though that would be cruel just the monarchy [editline]28th April 2011[/editline]
johnnymo1 has no reason to disagree other than he doesn't like them because they are in the media a bunch or something.
I don't even see them in the media.
How is that not legitimate?
because they're not pointless as stated previously in the video and by appox and hezzy and i
johnnymo1 has no reason to disagree other than he doesn't like them because they are in the media a bunch or something.
i disagree because i think they are a symbol of religious oppression and years of tyranny who stood by while many of her "constituents" suffered. so please go on about how stupid he is for not agreeing with you
because they're not pointless as stated previously in the video and by appox and hezzy and i
pretty much every point made in the entire video is invalid except for tourism and I'm skeptical of how much they actually create
because they're not pointless as stated previously in the video and by appox and hezzy and i
all you've done is suggest johnnymo1 is a pillock so what's really pointless is your squabbling
all you've done is suggest johnnymo1 is a pillock so what's really pointless is your squabbling
I don't even know what a pillock is this is getting too British for me
i disagree because i think they are a symbol of religious oppression and years of tyranny who stood by while many of her "constituents" suffered.
No one in the UK sees them as oppressive, more like smiley people that set up charities, retain a sort of national identity, and every so often do something that allows everyone to have the day off work and have a party.
Bitches don't know about my Monarchy

I like the queen for the cool factor that's p. much it
No one in the UK sees them as oppressive
my mum, her mum, my old friends, my parent's friends, people i've spoken to in the street, people in brighton, people in brixton, people in the east end.
