they generally don't do that for these kinds of reveals because they obv feel it won't sell hype as well to the general populace
go to the better universe next door where companies are transparent and meticulous in their outreach/marketing and invite me to that session, ive been dying for access
For that matter even if they just replaced the player dialogue with a dev narrating it or something it'd still be boring to you. A dev talking at you isn't suddenly gonna make the game cooler if the game isn't cool in the first place

Lets be fair though, the way Todd Howard talked about fallout 4 was insanely charming and he quite literally destroyed the show
Fallout 4 is ultimately an OK at best game and he make it seem like the best shit ever without outright lying like Hello games did. it wasn't anything amazing, and it wasn't terrible either.

You need someone to talk about the game who isn't either
1. A boring fuckwit
or
2. A massive corporate hack that pretends to be a 'tru hardcore gamer'
So I mean, you CAN do it, I guess

That's because the concept of building settlements, regardless of how it was presented, is interesting for a Fallout game. While Fallout 4 ended up just okay (I liked it a lot personally) for a lot of people, the core ideas it had going into it besides the story were immediately interesting.
That's a different story than here where the core game itsself is not nearly as interesting from the start.
Lets just hope we can get some future videos showing off Anthem's upgrade system, and coop system
Upgrades and modifiers on guns and coop is 100% my fuckin' jam.
Atm I'm suffering through farcry4's really shoddy performance just because I want to mess around in coop that bad.
I will bet real-life money that this is mostly CGI and will look nothing like this on release.
I'd be on the fence if this were a capable studio, but after Andromeda, no way. This looks just like The Division + No Man's Sky reveals, complete with fake narration/fake drop-in/fake trees falling over, so I'll be really surprised if it doesn't follow their trend.

I mean, all video games are CGI, so there's never been a video game that hasn't been CGI in existence. Basically 100% of all video games ever have been CGI.
jokes aside though, this is their A-team, Andromeda was the B-Team, so don't expect it to be TOO shit, but at the same time, expect a lot of pre-rendered/faked stuff that'll be removed in the release version. I doubt it'll be a no mans sky.

theres been a few, mainly point and click games like that company that does claymation, or the one that does it with paper models.
can't find them or remember the names atm
You know, it kinda reminds me of what I thought the gameplay for the earlier Prey would've looked like before it got canceled.
It looks pretty cool, even though it's pretty much scripted bullshots at the moment. Let's hope as much of this gets into the final release. I'd rather support an attempt at new IP than sequel hell, so until I know more, this looks promising.

Edmonton is working on this, Montreal worked on Andromeda.
As soon as ME3 released, work on Anthem started with Bioware's "A-Team," whereas Andromeda had the "C-Team" who spent 3.5 years of their dev time trying to make a procedural game, realised it wouldn't work, trashed it, and used whatever they had left over to shit out ME:A in 1.5 years.
I'm probably gonna play Destiny 2 over this, but this has a chance to be good, and the only reason anyone from Bioware Montreal is touching this is because ME:A did do poorly that EA decided to gut the studio and split the devs between Anthem and Battlefront.
I really hate the word generic and how often it's used against games. It's a non argument. I think it looks good, nothing crazy different, but good
As much as I hate Bioware, this actually looks amazing. [sp]Can't wait for the inevitable downgrade.[/sp]
This is absolutely one of the most generic, uninspired AAA games I have ever seen and I am being completely sincere when I say that I cannot understand how someone can be so excited for what they've shown.
The gameplay looks boring and generic, the tech design looks boring and generic, the enemy design looks boring and generic, and the world design looks boring and generic. The graphical fidelity and object density is nice (though I don't think it should at all be trusted as representative of the final product), but that doesn't mean anything when the entire game is creatively bankrupt.
A game doesn't have to be completely unique and original to be a fun game. Sometimes a game is just that, fun.
there was absolutely nothing memorable about this entire thing to me, the only thing that comes close is the jump off the cliff at 2:24, but will that exist in the actual game?
the fact that the entire trailer has an enormously ubisoft feel about it makes me not want to trust it one bit
When it come to writing we might be better off than the last few Bioware games

:what:
I like the aesthetic, I like jetpacks and the whole kinda "ironman" way that things are looking and moving
but I really don't want to have literally andromedas power system transfered over to a new game. The three button skill setup isn't fun really. It's limiting. The only reason it was made was for controllers, and the only reason it even sorta worked in Andromeda was the "Profiles" system, but even that was fucking annoying.
I don't get hyped for E3 demos anymore.
Watching this the game looks fun but I can't help but get bad vibes.
This video played out similar to the divisions E3 demo and guess what we got...

Gotta make everything fit on a controller
This is going to be littered with in game purchasing.
