Watching these clips I was reminded how I always wondered how Doc Ock, a normal human being with super robotic tentacles, can get punched by Spider-man and not get knocked out or survive a death fall.
We have a more classical Spiderman, with witty banter AND web shooters. Mary Jane is still a redhead. Huh this reboot might not suck. Baby steps Hollywood, baby steps.

Rule of Cool
He looks like lizardman from the terrible startrek fight... this is sorta unforgivable.
whoa whoa whoa slow the fuck down
that was the greatest fight in all of history!!!
such pacing, such punches
you can see his punches literally ripple against the lizards flesh
it's as if it's actually happening

spider man is such a badass
hopefully we get fights like this in the new ones, but none like the last fight of the 3rd movie,
The only problem I see with the webshooters is that most kids and teens (the main audience) won't know that this is what Spidey has in the comics and will be all "dumb, he had to make his own web", and then say stuff like "I'm a back in the day spidey fan, you know tobey macguire, none of this fake web stuff".

sad because it's true
I only really saw the original movies genetic web stuff, but IMHO I think the fact that he makes it himself is like, 1000x cooler
if he makes his own web non-genetically, that means he can upgrade the shooter, upgrade the web, all that good shit. Not only that! But he can run out of web, which means, tension!
anyone who says "I'm a back in the day" of anything are stupid posers, the only "BAck in the day players/viewers/followers" of ANYTHING are the originals, so even though I grew up on the n64, I'm not a back in the day gamer or super hero fan. I didn't grow up on atari, or the original super hero comics.
back in the day faggots just want to sound cool.
I'm glad now we have logical reason why he runs out of web. In the previous films I didn't like that reason why he couldn't shoot web. Because he had depression and mood issues? I can see what they tried to do, but I still found it silly.
Holy crap, that was a really great trailer. I'm glad Spiderman finally has humor again, as opposed to emo parker from the last ones.
Also, that cinematography was godlike. I don't care if it was CGI, it was gorgeous.
He was only "emo" in the 3rd and last one because he was being taken over by the symbiote.
If this movie ended with Samuel L. Jackson showing up, I will cry tears of geekiness.
New Avengers film? We already got Jackman for Wolverine.
I always liked how he discovered he had powers in the first movie. Had me smiling all the way through;

Not to forget this classic scene.

I liked the first two original spider-man movies because they had that lighthearted cheesy comic book feel, Sam Raimi really understood the whole comic book atmosphere and cliches and it was awesome. This looks like it's trying to be more edgy and slick.
I liked Toby's bodyshape though. He was small enough for me to believe he could be that agile, but also big enough to look very strong and shit.

comic style might not always work in reality BUT, it was done very correctly at least.
"OH SHIT NIGGA! DAT GLITCH MOB FUCKING MUSIC GOT ME PUMPED NIGGA!"
(Quotations are racism shields)

this has more a of a comic book look imo... and that's not really a good thing. i like seeing my super heroes come into the real world not some pixar world
I wish the web wasnt tech and was just a super power, I feel violated.
Still looks good.
...You do realise that in the comics, from the start and always, apart from a brief period after the movies, it has always been tech and not a super power?
no not always in the comics. apparently parker actually turned into a spider at one point and after turning back he had bio web slingers
it being in the comics doesnt automatically make it the better idea

That's another arc that never happened, just like One More Day.
This seems to be a lot more focussed on the comics, which can't be a bad thing. Even if Captain Stacey is now against Spiderman, and Peters parents may or may not [sp]be Spies[/sp].

Actually, this relates to how the one guy hopes sam appears after the credits:
[sp]Peters parents were spies working for S.H.I.E.L.D. and were killed in the field[/sp]

Atleast in most renditions of the comics.
i dont like how they're making peter so special though (parents / "destiny" , super intelligence, etc). he's not just "some nerd" who became spiderman. in this version ONLY peter could have ever been spiderman. it's really really hard to relate to him.
If they make a second movie after this, Rhino better be in it. I'm not exactly sure why but I remember him almost as much as Venom (not a big comic fan)
I don't know how nobody responded to this but i'm pretty sure the videogame tie in has rhino in it.
The video game has rhino as one of the main villians so thats probably a no go.
And the game is a canon sequel to the movie.
The suit is too shiny

Why are you so determined to try and relate to Spider-Man?

The first person section in this was amazing, always wanted to know exactly what it would look like from his perpective...
Is it just me, or does he look like a Doctor Who?
Maybe just a tiny bit like David Tennant, but I dont see the resemblance. More so in the first trailer.
Also, The Doctor.*

Spidermans whole thing is being relatable, he's a down-on-his luck teenager, short of cash and trying to get the girl of his dreams. At the time, that's what every comic-book reader was like.

He's also a genius with superpowers and every girl he meets looks like a playboy model.
See, I'm psyched for this movie, and I was especially psyched to learn that The Lizard was the villain.
...and then I saw his face.
Now I'm not a believer.
