Representing Georgia!
I'm ready for this shit, bring the rain and wind...
Depends on the hurricane and your location.

This is my house (front yard) after Hurricane Ike(80 miles north of the coast):

Holy fucking shit, that's crazy.
I found this site that's pretty interesting... shows the before and after pictures of the damage done to Louisiana's barrier islands from Katrina.

I want to see what a level 6 hurricane does.
Nature's a bitch.
Good thing I live in NYC, we haven't had anything major happen in years. It's relatively safe from stuff like hurricanes and earthquakes.
I want to see what a level 6 hurricane does.
Impossible. Saffir-Simpson scale only goes to 5. Anything higher than a 4 is a five, in which case you are usually fucked anyways so calling a 6 would just be pointless. Though I'd imagine if you could get the Atlantic hot enough you could create something worthy of being called a 6. The wind speeds would pretty much take out anything.
Aha! I am safe in my natural fortress of mountains!!
But anyways, the thread title warrants a T-Shirt.
throw me on Mississippi man

I'm an Alabama resident.
Last hurricane that fucked our shit was in 2004 with Ivan.

that's Katrina, a category 3. I'm sure you all remember hearing about Katrina on the news for months.
It completely leveled my house. Destroyed everything, including the concrete slab it was on.
mommy told me hurricane is when god sneezes
This is not a good time to live in Virgina
May as well add me to the list
Fixed!
It's fun until you're going on day 6 without power. The week after hurricane Ike, people were looking for 3 things: Ice, Gas, Generators. Food and water came Later if you were not smart enough to stock up before hand. Were going to get an estimate on a Generac Standby Generator so we won't have to deal with the power loss for weeks again.
I got a power generator from a cheap equipment auction for $500 and it runs like a charm
make sure your car has a full tank to you have some thing to siphon gas from and you're all set :v:
Add me to Florida. Been through most of the hurricanes here including Andrew,.
[editline]05:03AM[/editline]
Also fuck Wilma i hated that hurricane.
Yay I'm on the list! :buddy:
Also, the last couple hurricane seasons were quite calm for Florida. The last bad one was Wilma, as far as I can remember.

Yup, especially all the tornados we got from that in the PB and broward area.
I am semi-safe in New York! Unless a hurricane feels like going right up the east coast then into Canada.

Wouldn't be the first time it happened. New York couldn't take a strong hurricane ether. Manhattan would be underwater for days. Would cost billions of dollars in damage.
I'm in Georgia but not near the coast. Just a few tornado warnings now and then.
Im in Virginia go ahead and add me to that list. Isabel way back when was a bitch, we had huge trees fallen over all our roads out of my neighbor hood, I had to walk 2 miles to buy groceries because no one could cut the trees out of the way.

Hurricane Alex is deceased.
There's a new tropical storm approaching the gulf. Apparently all the ships around the oil spill are being evacuated.

The radar is shitty because it's not yet in range of the radar systems.

Add me in the Louisiana section for the "prone to hurricanes" list.
