This review brought up a bunch of very valid points, some of which I had previously thought myself. There's no doubt that Tyler is a very talented rapper with a plethora of potential, but it is also true that he's still quite young and at times can be a little immature. I was honestly surprised to hear numerous stabs at 2dopeboyz on Goblin, [i]again[/i], after hearing it so much on Bastard. I mean do we really have to hear that all again, isn't that just perpetuating the apparent problem, and consequently generating attention for 2dopeboyz?
As said in the review, the album comes across a lot more like a musical experience, a look into the drama and story of Tyler and his mind, rather than an album of songs. This is true, but I think that's what Tyler's aim was. He's said in interviews that he likes to think of each song as a movie, and each album as a movie, and that Goblin is a sequel to Bastard in that sense as well. It's certainly a different approach and I personally found it quite interesting. The first time I listened to Bastard, I listened to it from start to end and really felt like I was being drawn deeper into Tyler's mind, and was really able to gain a sense of how Tyler thinks and feels. Obviously, being a seasoned musical connoisseur, it didn't sit well with this particular music reviewer.
Another thing that I agree with, and something else you would expect to hear from someone who reviews music consistently, is the production quality on the album is clearly not of a professional standard. Some of the beats are really, really cheap sounding, which is most likely reflective of the budget of the album, or lack thereof.
I thought the review was quite good; I laughed at his jokes, agreed to some points, disagreed with others, and I think he did a good job at making fun of people such as yourself. Stop riding Tyler's dick, he isn't perfect, nor is his music.

half of them sound like they spent 5 minutes in garageband or fruityloops. really badly done. It sounds like the budget was a fiver.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the album. Listened to it over a good few times already. There's just lots wrong with it.
I agree with what he said about his length, too.
it was almost 80 minutes long but it could be cut to about 50 minutes.

Yeah, surprised that he liked it that much. I personally don't think it's as inspired as good of a journey than Goblin, but damn good.
I think music is a strange thing to review. It's a personal thing, yes there are really bad albums, and amazing albums. But people will still like/dislike them.

I disagree with him immensely. While the beats of OFWGKTA aren't always amazing, I don't think the other problems he said are really there.

What the fuck, the beats are one of my favourite things about their music..
The thing I don't like about Goblin is in songs like Fish, where there seems to be several different songs within each song, where they play a song, stop for a while and talk, then play a different song, except it's all on the same track.
Also I feel there's a lot of talking. But that's pretty much it.
Another thing that I don't like about fish is that Frank Ocean is singing "hide yo sisters" and all that, and that "the fish is raping everybody in the pool"
stupid "parody" of that old video, waste of his beautiful voice.
I hope Earl comes back soon and continues rapping like he does, I think I prefer him to Tyler.
