Another thing that I agree with, and something else you would expect to hear from someone who reviews music consistently, is the production quality on the album is clearly not of a professional standard. Some of the beats are really, really cheap sounding, which is most likely reflective of the budget of the album, or lack thereof.
I don't think this reflects the budget of the production, but was actually a stylistic decision made by Tyler. You can tell his taste in music and his style isn't of the norm. If he really wanted high quality beats, all he would really have to do is ask. I'm sure there are tons of decent producers out there who would have been willing to do tracks for free to have a chance to be associated with Tyler. I feel you on pretty much everything else though. And the guy in the video makes a good point. Tyler wants the fame he hates.
What are HMV points worth anyway?
What are HMV points worth anyway?
You can get stuff that can't be bought like signed merch and VIP concert tickets etc.
You can get stuff that can't be bought like signed merch and VIP concert tickets etc.
Well I bought 2 lps from there, how many points can that buy me?
Well I bought 2 lps from there, how many points can that buy me?
Not alot really, it's more a long term thing. I have enough for posters etc. It all adds up in the end. [editline]12th May 2011[/editline] They even have a Marvin Gaye mug :smug:
They even have a Marvin Gaye mug :smug:
I'm now shopping at HMV forever.
I can't find where to fucking download their music from their site. The music button just takes you to the page to buy Goblin.
Got my first shirt today.
I want that shirt, but I know I will never get it.
I want that shirt, but I know I will never get it.
Believe.
I'm torn between whether I want that or the Earl shirt
I'm torn between whether I want that or the Earl shirt
I got this one and the one with the Wolf wearing an OFWGKTA hat. The Earl one is next, but I want it on a Sweatshirt.
I don't really like Westwood, he tries so hard to be black it's unreal
You don't know much black people do you...
Nope, I completely agree with him. Especially on the fucking beats. half of them sound like they spent 5 minutes in garageband or fruityloops. really badly done. It sounds like the budget was a fiver.
You new to this Odd Future thing?
Dude.. My friend made a free earl poster. It was field day, and we all had to go do activties. We taped it to the front door, and then something took it down. We're convinced it was Steve Harvey, WE ASKED EVERY TEACHER. They all said no, and were very sincere.
Someone wrote "Bin Laden: Immortal Technique LOOK IT UP" in the bathroom @ school I'm gonna scribble it out and write OFWGKTA pretty cool huh :smug:
been listening to these guys lightly for a couple weeks "sarah" is probably my favorite Tyler the Creator song atm and I haven't delved too deeply into the other members to form an opinion
If I get dress coded for my shirt, I'm going to complain that it's religious oppression and get off the hook~
I always thought that I hated rap before OFWGKTA. Then I realized I was listening to the wrong rap.
Someone wrote "Bin Laden: Immortal Technique LOOK IT UP" in the bathroom @ school I'm gonna scribble it out and write OFWGKTA pretty cool huh :smug:
Dude I've added OF to my graffiti regime a long time ago, I'm into the whole vandal thing.
I always thought that I hated rap before OFWGKTA. Then I realized I was listening to the wrong rap.
Was it the abstract nature or the "hardcore" nature that brought you in?
goblin is so sick i think my favourite is still yonkers
You new to this Odd Future thing?
I can't get out of my head that he loved Bastard so much yet disliked Goblin. I respect his opinions due to the way he expresses them, but things like "RnB incorporated into it isn't my taste". When it's hip hop, I'd say it's a given so why complain? And the production here was in my mind, intentionally done. It makes you feel a certain way throughout. I don't think it's a "party" album at all.
My favourite Goblin songs: Yonkers Radicals Transylvania Nightmare Tron Cat Bitch Suck Dick Songs I don't like all that much: Goblin She Fish the rest I'm not sure about yet
I think nit-picking isn't the way to judge this album. Look at it as a whole story of expression from the man.
goblin fucking owns anyone that doesn't like it are faggots
Still can't find their music on their site, anyone care to help me out?
Still can't find their music on their site, anyone care to help me out?
Since Bastard is a free album, it wouldn't hurt to get a mediafire link.
Since Bastard is a free album, it wouldn't hurt to get a mediafire link.
suppose so. Is there a list of all their shit somewhere so I know I got it all?
