Looks decent, but I'm not sold on Chris Pratt in a dramatic role. CGI also needs a lot of polish, but they've got time for that.
I entirely agree with you, after marathoning all 6 seasons of parks and rec there is no way in hell i can watch this movie.
I hope we get a few Goldblum laughs and Im sold
Plot twist.
The creature is actually a hybrid consisting of Jeff Goldblum and a T-rex.
There's apparently raptors that're trained, or modified, into being more friendly towards people. Which is why they didn't attack him on his bike, but instead ran with him. They're probably used to kill dinosaurs that're rogue, like the one they made.
Maybe in the scene where they don't attack him they're actually all running away from a larger dinosaur, and so it obviously wouldn't be a priority to stop and kill him. Is it confirmed that they're trained?
I'm a huge Jurassic Park fan and my excitement is high simply knowing that the franchise won't end on the absolute piece of shit that was JPIII. To me, any references and throwbacks to the original film are worth the price of admission alone. Not sure how I feel about friendly raptors though. Is it confirmed that they are friendly? That just seems dumb to me. I remember in Lost World novel (yeah, different canon, but whatever) that the raptors were behaving even more violent and batshit than they had predicted, and they were trying to figure out why.
If you are a fan of the films and haven't read the books, I really recommend that you do. While the films are obviously based on the novels, the novels themselves have very different plots and mostly discuss the ethics of genetic engineering, the biotech industry, environmental effects on animal behavior, and chaos theory. While the Lost World movie is pretty shit, I actually think I enjoy the novel more than the first one. Inversely, I enjoy and prefer the film version of Jurassic Park as opposed to the novel. In the book, Dr. Hammond is an asshole and I constantly wanted Ellie (who is actually younger than Timmy) to get mauled by the T-Rex throughout the whole damn thing for being an insufferable twat.
you mean lex right
ellie was still a palentologist

but yeah books are great
didn't we figure out since the first movie that most dinosaurs had feathers?
where the feathers at
didn't we figure out since the first movie that most dinosaurs had feathers?

The scientists are scale-dinosaurs purists and decided to change the genetics to fit their view of what dinosaurs are
didn't we figure out since the first movie that most dinosaurs had feathers?

Maybe it's because of the frog DNA splicing thing. They're not full-on dinos, only like 3/4 of a dino.
Apparently the hybrid is called the D-Rex, don't know if that's official or not. But if so, then it might have a mix of the T-Rex in it.
It's a mix between a T-Rex, a Velociraptor, a cuttlefish and some type of snake I believe.
Also:
Here's my take on it. The spheres were only meant to be used around the more docile herbivores like the Brachiosaurus or similar dinos in the field in that scene. The hybrid got a hold of it.
Even then it sounds like a bad idea to drive a tiny sphere around the feet of an 18 ton dinosaur.

But isn't that what falconry is all about? Domesticating raptors?
Big fucking water dino fuck yes, hope there are some shots of it actually under water.
Apparently there's leak of the lego sets and they picture the hybrid.
I'll tell you kind of Dinosour they cooked up in that lab, the kind I eat for breakfast :v: . Really sorry, I had to.
I'll tell you kind of Dinosour they cooked up in that lab,
Methosaurus Rex.
The only thing that got me excited was friendly raptors?
Nah I'm not buying anything from this movie judging by this trailer, what is he? The Dino whisperer?
Maybe they aren't friendly though, I bet you can drive a dirtbike towards a pack of lions and half of em will run away.
(The others will be pissed off and grab you by the neck though)
The gadgets and tech seem a little gimmicky, "Gyro-ball".. okaay, meanwhile in the future.
Most of the shots look like a concept artists work directly traced with actors and CGI, not that is a bad thing but jesus they just took a shot of sea-world and replaced the tuna with a great white shark and the killer-whale with a Mosasaur..
I would have liked to see something a bit more traditional maybe, I enjoyed the wooden jungle look JP 1 had.. or the mainland stadium from The Lost World for example.
Egh, I'll watch it.. but I ain't getting hyped for this.
Nah I'm not buying anything from this movie judging by this trailer, what is he? The Dino whisperer?
Hopefully there's not some lame subplot about being able to communicate with the raptors like with that inane 3D-printed bone in JP3.
Ergh. For being a movie about dinosaurs the CG felt for specifically the dinos really wasn't very convincing. Also, this trailer feels like the generic type of trailer you make fun of when you say "trailer show the entire plot nowadays", because to be honest I feel like they showed way too much of the story.
Ergh. For being a movie about dinosaurs the CG felt for specifically the dinos really wasn't very convincing
it's a trailer
Am I the only one who thinks the CGI doesn't look that bad, even at this stage?
Even then it sounds like a bad idea to drive a tiny sphere around the feet of an 18 ton dinosaur.
Yeah didn't say it was a great idea, just a possibility.
I bet the hybrid is going to be some kind of Raptor-T-Rex Hybrid.
I did some poking around, and there have been a leak for the new Lego Jurassic World sets, including the new dino. [sp]A white dinosaur killing a black LEGO figure surely made some either golden or horrific comments somewhere on the Internet[/sp]
if that's the SUPER ADVANCED hybrid dino™ then i'll be disappointed cos it basically looks like a giganotosaurus which is already a scary super dino that tops trex in basically every category
Chris Pratt is working with the dinos after it's revealed that he is actually the hybrid.
originally it was going to be dinosaur human hybrids.

I don't think that Lego figure does it any justice.
Also Ingen was going to be way more Umbrella corp than it is now.
Indeed, that Mosasaur looks sick as hell.
I was thinking Liopleurodon
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosasaur
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liopleurodon
Edit: So apparantly you're right, they've found out the Liopleurodon was much shorter. I'm rusty when it comes to dinosaurs.
I hope it features a fat dude getting eaten on the shitter again. That was quality 90's writing.
