• Cutting Weight For Football

Why are you losing weight for football I wheighed 235 back when i played (not a good 235 I was a lineman) but dont try to cut wheight that fast your just going to loose water weight and be dehydrated for two-a-days which being that your position will acctually require movement unlike mine you shouldnt handicap yourself which is what you would be doing
OP you're fucking doing it wrong. And If your coach hasn't explained "cutting weight" to you, he's a fucking idiot and not much of a coach. If you have fat to lose, by all means, clean up your diet, and watch your intake of food for a while. If this isn't the case and you just need to make a specific weight, you don't actually need to lose bodymass. What you do instead is cut the water weight of your body. You do this by minimizing or eliminating carbohydrate intake for a few days and avoiding salts etc. Distilled water if the weigh in is desperately close.
Why the hell do you want to be at 100 pounds? What grade are you playing in?
Hey guys, the OP is just trolling and making up stories. No football player would weigh 100 pounds.
In the younger grades I can see 100 lbs being a weight he would need to get to. They have limits on what weight you can be and play what position. So if this kid wants to be a running back in 5th grade he may have to weigh 100 lbs, because they don't want 200 lb 5th graders getting the ball and just walking for a touchdown because no one can take him down. Now if he is in highschool or college, then 100 lbs is ridiculous.
Don't you want to gain weight? If you weigh less you will be pushed around easily.
After Weigh ins I boost back up to 110 within a couple days.
not if you're a wide receiver
This sport sounds disturbing.

I think 100 pounds is pretty light for a 7th grade football player. What position?
It really isn't that light, I weighed in about 105 last year. I'm going to eight grade now. Now weighing at almost 118. Once you start going through puberty, your weight jumps like a bitch. Let me tell you something, football is dumb. I hope you have permanent back problems for the rest of your life.

When I was in 7th grade I weighed 150. And I was skinny. Of course, I was tall so... Yeah, losing 5 pounds in a week at your age wouldn't be good at all.

The only way you actually could is getting hit from behind or being jumped by a fat ass 800 pound Shaq sized offensive lineman in my view.
My old football coach always pushed on me to gain weight. But that was because I wasn't overwieght to begin with.
How is football dumb at all? You've obviously never played it.
Duh because eh is not a pretty cool guy and he does afraid of everything and drops balls.
Are you in the midget league?
Ok first off, drink nothing but water and milk. Second, disregard everyone else's posts as they are incorrect and I have read them all. Eat only protein rich and carb rich foods such as 7 grain breads, fish, chicken and red meat. And you're in fucking football. Why are you worried you won't lose weight? And before practice eat only peanut butter toast on said bread.
ugh, 7th grade football is pussy shit our ref wouldn't even let us talk trash to the other team
Ok first off, drink nothing but water and milk. He shouldn't eat anything before a game. He says he needs to cut (which is ridiculous) but if he really needs to cut he should eat smaller meals more often; which has been said before. The only way he'll lose weight at that size (100 is fucking small for football, regardless of age) is to eat smaller meals more often. OP, if you're not playing two hand touch or WR, I wouldn't get into a league where you need to weigh 100 pounds. You're going to get your ass handed to you.
If you want to be 100 pounds for playing Grid Iron, then good luck because you'll need it.
All of that crap doesn't matter in middle school ball. Seriously, all the kids run around like idiots having no idea what to do. No matter how good you think you are, if you're playing middle school ball, you suck. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal, everyone that plays ball that young sucks. Don't worry about your weight. Just live your life and play some football, you can start worrying about weight and stuff when you get into High School and it starts to actually matter. 100 pounds as a 7th grader is featherweight though, that is scary. I was a really lanky kid in the 7th grade and I still weighed about 120 pounds.

100 pounds in 7th grade isn't weird at all. I was 95 pounds for wrestling and i always weighed in with all my clothes on.
He'll lose about a pound, maybe two.
only a pound? I shit a pound, losing 5 shouldn't be too hard.
