Didn't you know? Facepunch is self-titled the Bandwagon Horde.
Nobody found out that OP is a troll yet ? Wow.
[editline]01:30PM[/editline]
I realised he was a troll at "41"
I'm not saying it's all of you guys, most of you I'm sure are dedicated to making this community something well worth visiting and participating in but I'm afraid to say, you've got some right wankers here!
Surely it's not too difficult to give someone who knows nothing about gaming a little hand up the ladder so that they can give something back in return, maybe I'm just from a different age where people say 'sure, I'll help you out mate'. I'm not begging for stuff for free that is going to gather dust on a hard drive.
If you want to see examples of my 3D Art just take a look at my website: www.andrewmarch.net take a look here: http://www.foundation3d.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=42668&d=1283756076
I'm genuine, not some pouncey little 13 year old with spots for best friends.
Looking in your gallery I see alot of "ModelNameHere" courtesy of "SupaCoolGuyNameHere"
I don't see anything that you've made specifically besides putting other peoples stuff into scenes.
Thats how the internet is like
Is your pride so fragile that you feel so heartbroken about being called a fan boy?
Pathetic little man. Making a thread in GD to insult the entirety of Facepunch because some people were mean to him.
Ridiculous. And I bet he's not even 41. If you're that old you don't throw a hissyfit over someone being mean on the internet.
Wow, never in my 41 years have I met such a bunch of biggoted self righteous cunts as some of the people on these boards.
All I have asked for is a little help in getting acces to some MW2 Character models in .Obj format so that I (ME) can improve them in Lightwave and Mudbox and then give them (YES GIVE) back to the community.
What reponse have I had...You're a fanboy, get lost, fuck off, etc...
Well it's nice to know that the art of being tough on the internet is alive and kicking and it's thriving here with what is doubtless a bunch of twats who thought they had pubic hair until they pissed out of it!
Thank you so much for your warm welcome, your generosity is completely underwhelming!
They're kids. Kids have bad attitudes.
Try to look past the bad part of the community and focus on the good. Either that, or find a different game to play, because this is the gmod community whether we like it or not.
I'd say the average age here is 15 or 16. It sucks, but it's pretty dumb to let them get on your nerves.

The sooner you accept this, the happier you will be.
*snip*
Yeah, half of facepunch are stubborn
Most Facepunchers are angsty teenagers, so you shouldn't be surprised.
Edit: Pagineer means this post will get noticed more.
Here, have this generic image. Hopefully it'll make you feel better.

Pretty much this.
And OP, I just looked at your thread where you claimed to be bashed about being a fanboy and all that really went down was people giving you a simple " no, the tools do not exist " response to your question. Along with this people made a couple of video replies as jokes then you turn into a douche and start making jokes about how they will be working at Burger King or some shit. Long story short I think you're the one that's being a cunt here.
Along with that most people have just been saying you need to learn to tolerate the stupid people, and I agree with them. This is the internet, you'll have to wade through all of the shit to get what you want, and usually you won't get what you want.
I actually went to check the thread too. I can't really notice any flaming.
Also protip: Don't bump your own threads

Didn't look very hard did you!
[editline]03:38PM[/editline]
Forget it, found a forum with a really nice guy who had a couple of models for me to work with and retexture.
He was polite too!
You're not 41 :colbert:

You are overreacting over a minor issue. Interesting to see that the majority of 15-18 year olds here can behave better than a 41 year old, hmm?

Got a link for this forum at all?
You shouldn't be offended, just imagine that all the people trolling you are the most hardcore nerds.
You don't have to care
And you're 41?
Bumpppppp!!!!!
You shouldn't have posted in the OIFY...
There are cunts everywhere, deal with it.
He seems to be an experienced modeler who wanted to contribute something to the modding scene. No, he doesn't know the proper way of posting on this forum, but who the fuck cares? He doesn't frequent this place. Most forums are a lot more free-form.
If this community took all the time we've spent mocking people, and spent that time politely helping people, then we'd probably have a lot more cool stuff to play with. FP has a bully mentality.
I've been here for over five years, and everyone is rigidly expected to know how we do things around here. Nearly everyone is predisposed toward mocking someone who creates a thread. Nearly everyone seems desperate to expose others as being unworthy noobs.
I wish we could have a rule against smug attitudes, because that's what drives so many people away. You're not cool for one-upping someone on your forum know-how, or for knowing something that someone else doesn't. Be helpful. "Deal with it" is not a good policy to have on rudeness either. I guess it needs to come from the top - the mods have always been really active here & done a good job, but people have always been getting away with subtle, creative ways of being assholes. I think smugness should be handled identically to flaming.
Sorry to rant, but it should be said.

Get a job, old fuck :v:

Quality post.
I've been dealing with it for a long time, and it's been okay, but I've recently started hanging out in some other very polite online communities & I can't help but to think "I wish FP could be more like this".
There's enough good stuff here that we deserve a crackdown on idiots.
So basically, I agree with OP, only I'm not raging over it like he is.
Looks like he's trying to be accepted because he isn't the the real world.
To actually help you with your plight (I've no idea if you've gotten the help you need yet or not):
You need to use the 3D Ripper DX. Basically, this lets you take a "screenshot" of whatever game you're playing, in the sense it only captures whatever is currently being rendered.
You then open the "screenshot" that the 3D Ripper generates with a modelling program, such as 3DS Max. Then, you delete the models you don't want, until you have isolated whatever you do want. Then, you go through the rigging process for the model for Half-Life 2 (Google can help you here), and finally export to SMD (I think you need a plug-in for that in 3DS Max; again, Google can help you here). Then you compile the model into a Source MDL (Once more, Google can help).
At least, this is what I've read from another post.
This one, to be exact.
[editline]fish[/editline]
Oh, my mistake. Misread your post. You want them as an .OBJ, not into a Source game. Well, do the same thing up to the point where you rig. Rather than rigging, simply export as an .OBJ. I'm pretty sure 3DS Max supports this natively.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
