I find it stupid how people have to take everything literally. This was an "artistic" video so to say. It wasn't mean to make a straight point. Just mix art and reason together. A text can speak too. And if you can't hear it, then it's your shallow mind's problem, not his. Hell if he wanted to make a point he would just sit on his pc and use a webcam to record his speech.
Art comes with a message. We can disagree with this message.
This is all subjective. This is a thread the should have legitimate, critical discussion about the video. No need to be up in arms if someone disagrees with anyone's point of view. :colbert:
he actual makes some good points
He forgot SMH.
He said he wasn't judging you, but not a minute ago he just said you sound like you like to lick windows on the bus when you type "lol". He judged you.
Guy makes a good point
If anything, this video pissed me off. He brings up a lot of shit that doesn't come from facebook. Like saying "Lol" or "brb" in real life. I do it now and then when I'm with close friends of mine. They do it as well. Why would getting off facebook change anything? I started doing that wwwaaaaaay before I started using FB. Second of all, he makes it seem like all facebook users have 1000 friends and type like that. If you have half a brain - you won't. And you'll actually be a smart human and only add people you know and talk to daily, like family, siblings and close friends. Third of all - he treats it like a fucking drug. Sure, some people ago over the top and start playing all those shitty zynga games, and sadly they are a majority. However not everyone is that, but he makes it seem like it. I think this was "artistic", I guess, but he takes both minority and majority and lumps it together into one big piece, as if nobody would care. And frankly, writing on signs? It took 6 minutes to look thought that! He could've just spoken the words himself, and saved us all a lot of time, or made some kind of animation to explain with a voiceover. Rate me dumbs or whatever, but that's my own humble opinion. This is also the moment I realize I have 73 friends on Facebook, and it's about time I delete a bunch. Inb4 "omg y u haet me!!!11"
He needs to get laid.
wow irony
"Some of you may think I'm pretentious." Yup.
All aside he has good points. I have a facebook and everything he pointed out is EXACTLY what i avoid. I have about 50 friends requests from people i hate or barely know, i don't accept them. While i do have about 100 friends on my list, i see and talk to about 60% of those people everyday, a simple hello does count. All my notifications are things that actually involve me and is something i can talk about and post in. Really Facebook is the only way i have kept somewhat of a social life outside of school and work.
Indeed, I agree with some of his statements. The fact that he wrote this all on a paper-pad in an attempt to be pseudo intellectual was blatantly pedantic. I have a Facebook account, and I don't get into a tizzy about people not liking my statuses, pictures and whatnot. I use it primarly, so as not to look like an idiot when someone says "Add me on Facebook.", and I reply coyly "I don't have one." It's a social norm, only insecure people define themselves as abstract intellectuals or non-conformists. You have to learn to conform, whilst still retaining your individuality. It's called "Pretending."

The entire vid is lagging like a mother fucker and locking my browser.

This is different. I respect your point, however.
Good thing I'm not addicted to Facebook. It's really pissing me off, when my sister doesn't do anything else than just browse Facebook THE WHOLE DAY
Just be thankfull it isnt your dad. my dad joined facebook a while ago since then he goes to random links his friends send him open up obvious scam sites and has gotten my computer infected with so many virusis that im considering saving up and buying my own. but the worst part of it is he calls me down every 5 seconds even if im in the middle of something even if im in bed just to show me some retarded comment his friend made about a video of a dog! you know when he doesnt call me down to look at the 5 minute video of the dog over and over and over again...
I mainly agree with what most of this video had to say because I'll admit that I am guilty of over half the things he had mentioned. Also, I believe the paper-pad gimmick was simply to help retain attention, since I believe it would be harder to get his points across with speech.
Italics
Fun fact; you're the first person to post in this thread with a Facebook account linked from your FP account.
Italics
Congratulations, you found that out by yourself, or did you need help?
For some reason I detest this guy.

I have 135 friends on my Facebook. I try to talk to at least 3 or 4 of them. Note that I said try. Most of the time it's me just saying "Hello" and getting nothing back, or if they do respond, I can only manage to ask them how school is going and what not. I don't get the chance to talk to these people every day. They are either in school or I'm at work. Ok, so sometimes they come into where I work, but they only come to get gas or a drink. Not like I can talk to them for 30 minutes at work. On the bright side, I'm starting college in a couple days, so I'll hopefully find some new friends that I can talk to everyday.
Just saying you were the one that began quoting definitions. If you follow your definition, you opinion is lousy in quality and importance. If you follow my definition, you presented your opinion in poor reference to said definition, since it comes off as very haughty and arrogant. Either way, you don't seem to be holding your views up very well. Besides, no need to be so disrespectful. :colbert:
