It's not a moot point when there are hundreds of other communities dedicated to it, why do people want to randomly jerk it together with other forum members? Especially with a community who doesn't want it here? (if someone mentions it being a hobby like anything else don't even respond seek help)

I was a frequent poster in the first version before all the stupid child bullshit started happening. It was relatively normal and then I left for a few weeks on a trip through Europe, come back and its shut down because the freaks scared off the normal posters.

I think the reason it keeps coming back is more the fact that this particular community has gotten a lot of cliques and circlejerks, on particular one is the strange fetishes. And to be honest, its healthier they're within a community that they know then randomly going off into another one that could be literally worse.

Voted yes, but in support of the DeviantArt appreciation station and similar threads. I agree that Facepunch doesn't need to be a hotspot for people with weird-ass fetishes to share porn, but posting horrible "artwork" for entertainment (as opposed to getting off) shouldn't be an issue. IIRC Something Awful has had quite a few "post shit/weird artwork" threads in the past with some pretty questionable material. Finding and sharing that sort of stuff is part of their culture in a way, and FP has a lot of similarities to SA.

I've never really delved into the "what turns you on" thread, but the posts here suggest that it's a cesspool of people getting off to really fucked up porn. If that's the case, it really doesn't belong (especially considering that FP is the official forum for Garry's Mod and Rust).

Problem is that the users who used to post in that thread might spill over into other threads and shit up the rest of the forums. Sure you could ban the ones that do that, but that's more work for the mods, and "what turns you on" is a good quarantine zone. Anyone remember voremeplz? He might've stuck to that thread if it existed before he got perma'd.
