We had a statistically significant sample. If CheeseMan is correct, the results haven't and won't change since then. It's always been roughly 54:46 in favour of no.

I'm terribly sorry if this has been mentioned or discussed before, but I just don't want to dig through 114 pages if it was. I like the What Turns You On Thread, but a lot of the content just isn't for me. Furry porn, giantess porn, et cetera. Of course, I could/did contribute some of my own interests. However, a lot more people seem to be into furries, etc more than those into my interests, or at least some people just make a lot more contributions. That's going to be the nature of the beast of a general, non-vanilla porn thread: no boundaries, aside from the obvious. If WTYOTM thread, how would we be with individual threads, restricted to certain kinks? A traps thread for just traps, maybe a furry thread (I think I heard about one of those trying and failing but nevertheless)? TL;DR, how do we feel about separate, specific threads over one general one? Or would that might make too many threads, effectively turning Fast Threads into Porn Threads?

For reasons gone over in detail earlier in the thread, these threads have very little benefit and many negatives. None of the mods want to moderate it, it has delved into borderline illegal (outright illegal in the UK) content multiple times, on top of other things like it tangibly influencing younger posters into thinking that hermaphrodite fox-women are ordinary things to discuss in public. I don't want to beat the childrens argument further, but boy is it a hollow one. Maybe moderators don't mind looking at the porn dumps in Hot Girls/Guys which is why we haven't had a major issue with those. The illegal content part, however, is a joke. No one wants it, and all it takes is someone cleaning it up. We don't shut down Sensationalist Headlines anytime someone dumps Bandage Boys, and we don't quarantine LMAO pics when someone ~hilariously~ posts porn/gore/illegal content in it. The moderators don't want to put in any real effort about this and that's totally fine, I get that. No one should be subjected to moderating weird shit that grosses them out, and neither should the forum get a fuckin' overhaul for a porn thread. I just think that, at this point, there are only two ways of going about this. 1) Remove WTYO and other NSFW threads. Ban NSFW content (and avatars) in threads that are not specifically NSFW. (I guess Dragon/Catgirls can stay even if they're weird to some?) As people have repetitiously droned on about here, we are a ~video game forum~ (despite sub-forums going into literally everything else) so why do we need NSFW Content/Porn? I agree there. Why not ditch it entirely? 2) Get someone respectable who doesn't give a shit about the content in WTYO to [highlight]actually[/highlight] moderate it. No one wants illegal shit. No one wants excessive porn dumps. I understand Facepunch probably doesn't have a "single-thread-moderator" option, so just tell them to only act in WTYO and doing otherwise is means for removal. You could even bar him/her from the super secret moderator forums if you want to be all exclusive.

Also #2 is ridiculous and has been shut down completely multiple times. It's basically doing the opposite of banning the thread; it's forcing people to sacrifice their time for the thread instead, which totally circumvents the fact that it's a primarily negative thread for everybody but the regulars of it.

My opinion: With Facepunch becoming a more well-known and legitimate studio, I don't think there's any place for porn threads on the forums. Imagine if the official Blizzard forums had a section where you posted catgirls all day? Or if the Steam user forums had a furry porn thread? That would be completely out of place and inappropriate. The same thing applies here, now: we're no longer a weird niche forum made by that guy who made that one Source mod. We are the OFFICIAL FORUMS for all of Facepunch Studios' games, and we need to clean up the forums and regulate them as such. I don't think we should allow even "tame" porn threads like hot girls/guys.

Since I got myself a 'nice' reminder of what WTYO thread looks like, I am gonna step from neutral ground and give my vote to No because fuck. That. And just to throw my 2 cents in that general direction, when I first entered the site (like year and something ago) when I acknowledged there are porn threads here, I was like "What the actual fuck? Why would any gaming studios forums have porn threads on them? That's weird." So if you'll ever considerate deleting ALL the porn, you have my vote on that one.
