Deleting the weird porn thread is the first step to people who want all the porn gone, so it'd be silly to rescind a vote and kill any chance of doing so in the future

Thought about it and while I don't see the harm in the thread as an idea, it's way too much of a mess with shit like that cub thing that didn't get taken care of for too long, and I definitely think the porn is clogging up fast threads too much in general. I still like the idea of compromise and it's own section thing more, but the reality is, as people pointed out, that that's not gonna happen unless against all expectation the mods decide for it to, and they have no reason to, so when it comes down to it I'd rather take no as a base answer. Thread in it's current form ain't acceptable.

Not an example of a good argument. We've been over this a fair few times so let's spell it out - the mods want nothing more to do with it, it's caused its fair share of problems, and not all the illegal shit can be weeded out even by a team of dedicated mods.

Also there's a ton of folk in this thread putting up their names with 'can I be porn mod nao thx' just for the sake of doing so when all they want is a green name and a ban stick. Like wauterboi, I neither care that people have odd tastes nor do I mind such things on a personal basis - the problems here have started from both sides in the argument. The one is too condescending and the other too vocal and refusing to look at things from the others' point of view.

Just understand that a lot of people no longer feel that we can accommodate this sort of thing on Facepunch anymore, and this includes the staff. I know it feels unfair and biased but such is life.

There is a problem with that sense of arguing. You include 4 things where 2 are almost completely unrelated to the other 2, so technically they wouldn't fit. But since you included them in what you want us to be talking about, they seem to make sense together. It's a forced equivalent.
If I say that we should be talking about games, crazy headlines, porn and helping people program, but forcing a question on what your favourite colour is just doesn't fit. It may seem like porn fits all of a sudden, but not the question on what your favourite colour is.

Anyways, gotta say what I think about the subject:
Sure, you may not like the thread. I don't even like everything in the thread. And I understand the reasoning behind not wanting the thread there, I just disagree. I think the thread is quite nice. I can search for porn all I want on the internet, but that's not why I go to wtyo. I go there because most there are swell guys with some fun comments that you can't find on any other place that involves this kind of pornography. Go to FA, and you get basement dwellers rping in the comments, and it's just a mess.

I still stand by that the argument that FP would have some kind of positive reputation and the porn threads are ruining it is silly. FP have barely any reputation at all, and from what I've seen on maybe 2 sites that have mentioned FP, it's not been in a good manner, and that had nothing to do with the pornography.
