Create a private Steam group, in which you can establish a "forum" of sorts. Then you invite only those you want to be a part of it. You could at least use it temporarily, until this entire thing has been forgotten. (Which shouldn't take very long) I see absolutely no reason as to why this wouldn't work

I'm not preaching the legality of the content (because that will set off a whole other stalemated debate) or freedom to do what you want in a forum (This isn't the OIFY) but we've had these threads before and we'll continue to see them, be it porn or other games or whatever. This is like people bitching about a train thread because it's dangerously autistic or the Five Nights at Freddy's thread because it's too mainstream. Stripping the debate of what goes into this thread, it's a porn thread where the topis explains the reason for the thread. You don't even need the NSFW tag. You already know what's going to be inside and on a place as diverse as Facepunch you shouldn't be at all surprised that there are different strokes for different folks. Crying to the mods simply because there's creepy porn in a porn oriented thread is on par with sticking a fork in a wall socket: If you don't like it, don't keep doing it! (or in this case don't go back into the thread.) It's not like the presence of the thread is a catalyst for causing porn to be allowed to be posted anywhere else. As for the crying to moderators thing; I don't think that's the case at all considering all the mods voted no. That being said there isn't a need for a poll really, if the mods are unanimous on something then I think that should be to go ahead.

Actually, scratch that. Looking around it seems that all of the lewd/porn threads have turned into bitchfests over this in the four days I was not at a computer. Way to go guys. You made a mountain out of molehill and derailed over a half dozen threads. Lock all the threads and forbid porn threads for six months, then allow them again on strict guidelines and see if people start instantly crying about their poor, poor virgin facepunch having porn threads. Alternatively, only allow them in the OIFY like they used to be. If you can outpost the shitposters you're good in my books.

It's apparent that it brings up a lot of unwanted tension, and I know FP has pretty much always been a very "open-minded forum" but I personally think that a line must be set somewhere.
