If you have a problem that bothers you so much that you need to vent. Vent to a shrink, who can help you with your problems. Not strangers on the internet who aren't psychiatrists and will most likely not help with you with your problem beyond rating your post and saying "there there"

It took literally 6 months for me to get a shrink and by then I solved 75% of the problem on my own. I also got someone in training who didnt help at all.

Why the hell would people go to a psychiatrist just to discuss none psychological issues in their life?

I've been to both a therapist and a psychiatrist for life problems.
The therapist referred me to the psychiatrist because it was clear I needed to vent more and feel encouraged to look deeper in myself rather than say a little then recieve advice.

Bullshit. I had to wait months to see a shrink about my insomnia and anxiety problems earlier on this year and all he did was prescribe me weak medication and told me to deal. If I were suicidal, what do you think is a better idea: a. seek help from nice comforting people who can make me feel a lot better or b. wait a few months to see a phychiatrist while my symptoms develop?

You don't need psychological issues to see a psychiatrist. It's sentences like that that keep people from seeking a psychiatrist because they fear they'll be referred to as psychologically unhealthy.

Obviously if you have serious issues that require help then the people in the thread should tell that poster that a therapist/psychiatrist is best and the poster should go see one.

You can remove Fast Threads and keep STGYM anyway just use ROFLBURGERS idea of a chat threads section everybody wins.
the only reasons people seem to have given for getting rid of fast threads are post counts and low content threads.
unless someone has like 2000 posts in a few months, caring about post counts is incredibly shallow. and yeah there are a bunch of low content threads in ft but so what? its contained there, it hurtss literally nobody, and if you think it harms the image of the forum in any way then you either care far more than is healthy about a web forum or have way too high of standards (which goes back to the former part). if someone looking to join fp is turned away from it because of fast threads then that's their problem, but i don't know of anyone who would be dissuaded from joining because there's one forum section where the posts aren't anything more than one word replies or chat threads

It's not only potential forum members that will be turned away, it's potential investors in Garry's business as well. Not only that, but Forums on facepunch have been removed for less of a cause, and if there is a chat threads section to take it's place, then genuinely the only purpose for FT is for forum games, which were a bannable offense before FT came into play and it would be great if it were a bannable offense once more.
Maybe add "Dumb shit here." to the FT description. :v:

The way I see it, every section on FP dedicated to something has kind of its general chat type section. Fast Threads just has all the chat threads and the forum games in one place. There really is no harm in letting such a section exist, nearly every online forum has a similar variant with its own part of the community.
