It's because of the loaded way the question in the headline is phrased. For or against the sort of thread for whatever reason, it's being put in such a way that you'd have to either be an extremist to vote in favor of it (it being "furry/vore/bestiality") or have a solid rational stance that's coherent for why you vote in favor without committing yourself to tacitly approving of Furry, Vore and Bestiality. One of those is considered "okay" by a lot of people, another "weird but harmless? isn't it fantasy?" and a third is explicitly illegal in a lot of countries.

In fact if it had been phrased "loli/vore/beastiality" I'm willing to stake all of my hats that the vote would be clear as crystals in favor of banning the porn threads.

That and a lot of people are reading it as a bare minimum "kill these particular creepy threads" vote, and I do not think consider the implications. There's no evidence that it would, but there's a plausible case that this should logically extend to all "porny" threads. After all, if we're getting rid of the sick-o's who sit around beating their priests to wild geese, why not also ban the pervs who spend their time "appreciating" catgirls, or the misogynists who spend their time discussing "sexy" women, or the gays who are ogling sexy man meat, or so on and so forth. If this vote included all of those threads, I'm fairly certain there would be a hard vote brigade against deleting anything.

I see your point. I don't care one way or another just because I never even glance twice at any of those threads, so I just don't see the big deal in it being some gigantic issue people are getting pissy about.
