I honestly think it should NOT be allowed, only for 2 reasons:

1. Facepunch really isn't the place for that kind of stuff. The Hot Girls thread is one thing, it's debatable but at least it really is just Facepunchers sharing what turns them on, and posting hot girls. I won't dispute the uh... normality of talking about your sexual preference on a public forum, but the thread is what the thread says, and it doesn't exactly go overboard. WTYO goes waaay overboard. I think the description of it being everyone trying to 1-up everyone else's weird shit isn't very far off. Naked women is one thing, dragons with penises fucking humanoid dogs with penises is another.

2. CLEARLY it's causing a humongous dispute, so it should just be put to rest. There's too much of a shitstorm around it, so obviously it's something of an issue. The people who post in that thread can either go to another thread like Hot Girls if that's what they want, or go to other websites for their weird shit.

I'm really not saying the Hot Girls and Hot Guys threads belong on Facepunch either, because all things considered they really don't, but at least they're tame and discuss the topics at hand. Apparently enough people on Facepunch want a (perhaps mature) place to discuss their sexuality, so maybe that makes it okay. I'm still very on the fence about it, considering that 'weird' is a relative term, and I feel like what I'm saying pretty much amounts to "it's different from what I like so it's weird and shouldn't be here", and also because I believe we should be free to discuss whatever topics we want to talk about with other facepunchers, but I think it'd be for the best that WTYO was gotten rid of. Frankly, it wouldn't be difficult to make a steam group for Facepunchers to discuss and share whatever shit isn't wanted on the actual site.

I'm not into that stuff, and you've stated you aren't either, but it's being blown out of proportion. Child porn is horrible, but frankly, it's better that one with those fantasies gets it out of their system with Lolli rather than, you know, actual child porn. Neither of them are socially acceptable, but at least one isn't hurting anyone. You can argue that some guy who liked Lolli went out and raped children, but that's completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter if they guy liked Lolli or if he liked child porn, he raped a kid and that's all that matters. Whatever he liked to jack off to had nothing to do with it.
