The porn avatars I can do without too, but there are solutions for that as well.

even if you are okay with the threads existing as a concept you should be able to recognize that facepunch is now the forum for a pretty big game studio and having such threads could very well be a legal liability as well as an obvious stain on the image. hell i will admit i used to occasionally visit the hg and hig threads, and i've changed my previous opinion to be in support of the banning of porn on the forums. it just doesn't have a place on here anymore. a few years ago things were different, but now it needs to go

It isn't harmless content. You're posting obscene, sexually deviant pictures in that thread. A lot of the userbase on FP are teenagers under the age of 18. They're very impressionable and threads like that give the impression that liking that kind of thing is a perfectly acceptable and normal thing.

I can do without porn threads, we didn't have porn threads until recently really. There have been attempts in the past but they were all taken care of or changed drastically.
Ever since the new iteration of the dragon megathread porn itself is actually discouraged from being posted, if it is, it has to be tagged and linked not embeded. If it's not it's bannable. We also make it clear to folks who post there that if they do want more than just what the thread offers, they can join our steam group which is moderated heavily and where they can also get porn. AKA, We keep it away from you guys and you can join in if you really want it. Otherwise it doesn't touch you.

I do have to agree though with a lot of the avatar talk, even the 'sfw' avatars are obviously there to push the boundaries. Personally i know one of the avatars previously posted was made essentially to see if it pissed people off.

Does Facepunch really qualify as a pretty big game studio?
There's a grand total of two games and while tons of people play them I doubt a majority of people who play Rust are even aware this forum exists or use it, and in either case, FP isn't really a studio that people are ever talking about
