Should we allow the weird porn threads (IE: "What turns you on" type threads with furry/vore/beastia

I think a problem with the discussion in the thread is that most of the arguments for closing the thread aren't ones like "Is Facepunch really supposed to be hosting porn threads? It's still a gaming forum" and more "EW GROSS PORN I DONT LIKE IT PLZ BAN PLZ". There's no proper discussion to be had if one side is dismissing the other as just "gross" or "weird" for having different sexual interests. (Not talking about pedophillia or zoophillia, which are both illegal and morally objectionable)

I mean, if Facepunch really isn't the place for porn like you argue, then Hot girls/guys threads should be removed too. The "What turns you on thread" is the same thing, it just caters to a separate interest group.

Frankly, I browse the thread more for the social aspect than the porn. Yes, we can look at porn anywhere, if I go in there I'm more interested in what other people are posting? Even though often it isn't really my thing it's just interesting to see.

This vote isn't really about the ethics on whether or not this vote is fair or whatever, it's really just about if you want fetish threads on FP or not.

If not having fetish threads is some deal breaker for you there's always other communities.

because the community grew and things like content creation/popular discussion are good to have around in a community that sprouted from user generated content. having a creepy abhorrent receptacle for porn doesn't really come under that umbrella and i dont think there is any argument for it to stick around.

Hi, my name is Ed. I am a functional member of society, i work a respectable job maintaining a movie theatre's projectors and interning for a video game developer. i have a normal social life of hanging out at bars with my friends and playing video games with them. I've had a normal life of relationships including ex girlfriends and boyfriends. I get stressed in my life and go online to escape a bit and talk about dragons in lore, stories, and in other media. Believe it or not i even found love there. Conversations with these friends are not sexual, when i said i made friends i mean i made friends just as if i met them at a bar or at a club meeting. We bond by a common shared interest but not only because of that interest. I stand up for it because the thread is doing nothing wrong and does not fall into the category that the what turns you on thread falls into as porn is actually discourage from being there. However many do not realize this and want it gone thinking it is a safe haven for scalie porn when it is quite the opposite

I have a normal functional life and i'm doing decenlyt well in life. Isn't this why we had OIFY in the first place? I remember in 2007-2008-ish all the porn threads were contained there. Maybe re-introduce OIFY as a hidden (only accessible though URL) or passworded forum so that new people won't see it until they're not new anymore.

Another issue is, at least imo, as weird as you guys are interpreting the WTYO thread the stuff in there is pretty tame compared to more borderline porn sites. (Like /d/). Most of what took place in that thread was discussion. This is still just my opinion, but it seems like a lot of people are taking it at face value. "A thread full of gross porn? Delete it plz".

Problem is it's a bit of a liability risk, since technically all the forums is certified for ages 13+. What if one of the "rust kiddies" gets out? Once again, this applies to [I]all[/I] porn threads, not just the weird ones, but it is something you have to consider.
