I've replied to you like 3 times and not once called you a shitposter or flamed you. I actually agree that the dude probably should've been banned, though I didn't like the implications that underage porn was a regular happening and the post others were making about anyone who posts in the thread is basically encouraging it. I myself have a very low tolerance for it.

If the threads got removed, I'd be a little disappointed but honestly not too miffed. If it upsets people that much, then maybe the porn should be gone.

There are hundreds of fetish forums out there where you can dump porn to your heart's content without being judged or yelled at by other members. The many subsections for hobbies and threads for things like the LGTB spectrum actually have discussion and can really help people out, but all the porn thread has is people dumping their fetishes. Facepunch may not be solely a gaming site, but it's definitely not a fetish site either.

Lemme put it this way: there's already a community for it here, and it's difficult to uproot a whole community to another site. And people like sharing it for the same reasons people like sharing pictures of food or whatever kids these days share pictures of; people just like doing it for fun, I guess, or to discuss it and so on so forth. It's not hard to understand why everyone doesn't want it here, but the problem is it's difficult to just simply move it somewhere else because they want to share it with a certain community of people, which is located right here, not with some other random people on another site that they don't already know. Like I said, it's hard to uproot an entire community and move somewhere else.

Hey; this is a post. Well, I dunno, I feel that there is some objective value to be measured when placing two topics like this (say for this hypothetical: cooking versus porn). One has tangible effect in real life, helps develop skills, provides a quantifiable increase in a person's general knowledge directly through their posting and reading posts in such a thread/subforum. The thing that both topics have is the ability to develop friendships and communities, but then you could argue that communities based on a thread like What Turns You On have far less of a proper connection and are likely to fall apart after the thread is gone. It is objective that discussing, disseminating and whacking it to porno don't develop skills or provide knowledge, unless you're in some kind of satellite discussion about porn art styles. I don't think that that can necessarily count, though, as you can discuss say, prosthetics and mask design in a thread about horror movies as well.
