There were people making the claim that most or all users of furry porn are maladjusted basement dwellers. How was I supposed to make my point that neither I nor any of the people I came across in my occasional browsing of said porn without admitting that I use it myself? It was integral to the discussion.

Regardless of whether furries are too eager to brag about their level of perversion, I am not a furry and I have never mentioned yiff outside of a community built for it.

The main issue it seems most people have with it isn't the fact that it doesn't fit in with with the forums and stuff, it has to do with the fact that there's no disclaimer and the site is technically open to anyone over the age of 13. There's nothing that says that you can see porn, and its a major liability risk. Plus, there's also issues with mods not wanting to police threads to look for possible cp and this and that. It makes sense to get rid of them, but they should all be gotten rid of or the forums should be moved somewhere where it's clear only 18+ people should view the content.

This thread went south rather fast.

Look here's my view; I don't mind furries, nor do I mind bronies, nor do I mind it if people have odd fetishes either. Always had an each to their own mindset as long as they don't keep shoving it into people's faces everywhere, like mentioning they're furries or talking about their fetishes in every other piece of conversation.

What I do mind is when people try to get condescending over it (for those who dislike it) and when people try to rabidly defend it without understanding why some people might think such things are strange (for those who are into those things).

Judging people based off of one thing is hardly ok by any stripe. Fetishes also don't stop people from having healthy relationships with one another.

Don't negate arguments coming from other people just because 'lel dogfucker' either. Treating people like complete shit for their preferences won't get us anywhere except a circle of flaming back and forth until people get banned for it.

I can understand where the mods are coming from in this regard as well, there's been a fair bit of trouble too with legit pedophiles and the like being outed in the porn threads.

'Social maladjustment' is also kind of a catch-all to associate all furries with; there could be a lot of other things that might be wrong with these people.

Only thing is as far as Facepunch is concerned there's been trouble enough to spare with the porn threads; always boils back to somebody breaking the rules or threadshitting there and it ends up in a catastrophe because it finally goes back to people posting illegal shit. Note the recent incident where two people were perma'd (one for being a pedophile and the other for being into bestiality) which triggered the first discussion for banning NSFW content on the forums, in addition to the NSFW avatars discussion started by ROFLBurger.

I'm keeping to a stance of neutrality here; I won't shed any tears if porn threads and other NSFW threads/avatars are forbidden but I won't mind either if the mods elect to retain such things.

Quick recap of where I stand just for clarity: I personally think the WTYO thread has gone on long enough but wouldnt mind if it stayed cause its a decent timesink and some GOOD jokes are made in that thread. I just fuckin hate blanketed statements grouping everyone as the same in that thread, or these pretty inaccurate statements that everyone's okay with cp/loli/etc. Shit's gross, and I can't stand to be called an enabler of it, even though I will not deny posting quite often in WTYO.

Also leave the other threads alone.
