This will be for the album, but I want some C&C before I submit.

Any likes, dislikes, etc?
So how is the progress going around here?

The progress is slow as fuck.

I hear no bass
I hear no bass
Yeah would be nice, but I personally think that ain't the point of the track.
Are you serious? I think I have the bass too loud, turn up your speakers or get a good pair of headphones, it is definitely there.

He probably means put the bass a bit wider in stereo so it's clear.
But I think that will mess it up.
Yeah, I did make it a little more on the mono side, but barely. When it was wider, it muddied up the mix and covered some of the other instruments. I tried equalizing it to fix it, but that didn't work, and the only other option was to tone it down in the mix, in which case it disappeared almost completely. So, I ended up just turning the stereo on the mixer channel down some, and now it fits nicely. I don't know about you, but my desk vibrates from my sub when I play the song, I think the bass is still strong.
It's fine.

No, the bass definitely isn't there. I got a good sound system with a good woofer, and with most songs the thing rumbles at least a little. It didn't pick up anything with your song.
Perhaps you have your speakers picking up bass too easy. If you got a bass tuning knob you ought to try tuning it down.
Anyway, just turn the bass up a bit and you got an amazing song there.

Yeah, my sub is good as well. It picks it up a little, but I don't think it affects the song that much.
Bass is actually very important. It's what gives the song depth, and without it music sounds boring and hollow.

Thanks. :downs:
What I was trying to say is that the bass is very weak, and that makes the song sound kinda boring. I guess I kinda wrote it in a stupid way.
It's too late. Your opinion means nothing after you said that :smug:
Anyway, which one of these songs should I submit?

or

This one is still a work in progress
Do you at least hear the kick? I hope it's not something going goofy on my end. I'm listening to it on my laptop now with my studio headphones, and I can still hear the bass, but not as strong.

Loving your sound, Hikula, very professional sounding.

I think you should submit Holy Mountains, I like it just a bit more than Liquid Shite.

Boosted the bass, does it sound better?
The bass is overwhelming on the lower notes, which is kind of distracting. I think you should tone it down just a tiny bit. I'm sorry for being so nitpicky by the way, I just can't help it :v:
Yeah, it's overwhelming the other parts. Gotta get a balance. I recommend automating the volume on it. When it first comes in you want it to take center stage, but when other things come in and stuff starts happening you want to pull it back so you can give more focus onto the new parts. Just do some thinking and figure out where you want the bass to be a big role, and when you want the listener to focus in on something else. A compressor could actually help out in the parts where the bass needs to sit back more.
Yeah, I barely touched it. Like I mentioned before, it's really touchy. I'll automate it and see what I can do.
i want in.

can i submit this? i just finished it yesterday, even if it wasn't made specifically for the album
This is taking ages to finish.
Well, with all the other collab CDs going on at the time, its no wonder.
Does anyone else feel this just isn't up to par with Gregah's threads?
Does anyone else feel this just isn't up to par with Gregah's threads?
Very true. I think the lack of a deadline is causing this.

Sad that he's gone. He was gonna contribute to the concept album :smith:

How about this:
Deadline is May 20
Good enough?
Yep
