So are people with healthy lungs.
judging by the past replies, we aren't really "human"
so you blame soda and video games to be the downfall of your activity?
maybe you should start smoking to regain that lost smoker's muscle mass apparently
Never smoked a day in my life. The downfall of my activity has actually been from playing way too much video games, getting kicked out of school, and drinking way to much soda.

Never said your not. All I ask is stop treating your fellow man like a dog for having an addiction. Rehabilitation doesn't work like that.
Yea but just like soda, video games and getting kicked out of school is all by choice, so is smoking (maybe not kicked out of school is a choice but you get my drift)
Right, right... I've lived in a household of active smokers for... Sixteen years?
secondhand smoke is harmless
hi i am human that gives me the right to cause harm to others
Hi, I'm a non-smoker that gives me the right too tell people how to live their lifes.

are you addicted to blowing smoke in people's faces?
are you addicted to blowing smoke in people's faces?
Once again... Never smoked a day in my life.
Hi, I'm a non-smoker that gives me the right too tell people how to live their lifes.
Your rights stand until you harm another human being your rights are taken away. What is the difference with smoking.
Once again... Never smoked a day in my life.
you may have never smoked a day in your life but the fact you were inhaling smoke coming from a secondary source plays a part
in essence, you were smoking but not inhaling it by the source
Once again... Never smoked a day in my life.
ok let me rephrase myself, are you implying that smokers are addicted to blowing smoke in people's faces?
because you sure are being really defensive when people complain that smokers can't mind their own business
Your rights stand until you harm another human being your rights are taken away. What is the difference with smoking.
Harm? What harm? Putting money into the free market, and therefore possibly giving money to projects which could save lives?
Harm? What harm? Putting money into the free market, and therefore possibly giving money to projects which could save lives?
Man you are so thick-headed
Harm? What harm? Putting money into the free market, and therefore possibly giving money to projects which could save lives?
fact: taxes paid by smokers actually go right into the medical funds by the government
but the fact that others are getting injured due to their choice of taking up an activity that actively harms them causes some social disarray

Not at all. I attmepted too state that treating someone harshly while they have an addiction too a substance won't help them considering all your doing is making them feel worse about themselves, and in hence make them want to do more of the thing which keeps them happy.
Harm? What harm? Putting money into the free market, and therefore possibly giving money to projects which could save lives?
if you dont believe second hand smoking exists i bet you also believe carbon monoxide is an anaesthetic

Then what do you suggest we do for people whom are addicted?
I don't understand why they beat around the bush with this issue. If they don't want people to smoke, then make the sale of cigarettes illegal, take taxes off alternatives and cures. It's stupid to revoke people's rights like this.
Yeah it's just a bad habit, it has no positives at all. Some people say it's a stress reducer, but I don't understand why they have to pick that one stress reducer over hundreds of other stress reducers.
Not to mention that most of the stress is a result of withdrawal and addiction.
Then what do you suggest we do for people whom are addicted?
ok i'll just let you be because the point of capitalism just flew over your head
seriously it was like an ICBM over you
Then what do you suggest we do for people whom are addicted?
Its the peoples own fault for getting addicted to them. There is a warning on the box and before that I'm sure they know what they did to their own bodies before trying a cigarette
Fatty Foods, Carbonated Drinks, Alcohol, Vehicle Exhaust, Factory Pollution, Mercury in the Ocean, Radiation, Hell even the damn sun is harmful to humans.
Someone tells me my cigarettes bother them, sure as shit I walk into the lunch room and see them chomping down balls deep into an up-sized double big mac with large fries. Yes Mcdonalds is not addicting in a chemical sense. But it's probably 5 times as unhealthy as the tiny bit of second hand smoke they MAY have inhaled outside.
Too much attention to smoking.
I smoke because I want to, I spend the $12 per pack a day because I want to. Whoever disagrees can jump in a lake.
Man you are so thick-headed
And you're reiterating a faulty argument.
I don't smoke... and this is ridiculous!
I'm not for smoking, but if you do smoke then have fun. But banning it outside is like banning it altogether if you can't already do it in parks, indoors, and so on. This is bullshit, man.
Then what do you suggest we do for people whom are addicted?
I say just dont smoke in crowded places unless its electric. Its not that bothersome. You could still smoke outside.
It's people like me that make these rules enforced.
/lights cigarette in a daycare.
I think it's an indirect way for people to not smoke while standing next to someone else that prefers to not have smoke blown near their face.
I can't believe this is happening frankly, but hopefully this would decrease smoking in general.
I hate smoking, so I'm biased in that area.
Stuff gets whisked away by the wind so quickly that it doesn't even matter. You'd actually have to be trying to blow it in someone's face.
officially convinced my country is fuck backwards

Same reason we didn't just ban slavery, it would have pissed everyone off, though we still went through a Civil War, it wasn't as soon as if we just banned slavery and took all the men and women away.
People are gonna flood the streets in anger, and it'll be a big adjustment for a lot of people since tobacco's a fairly big market in the US. It's more like we're trying to kill tobacco slowly so that when it's a whimpering dog in the corner, abused for years, we finally just shoot it down.

I don't think anyone gives a shit, politician or not, if you smoke. Their point is second hand smoking.
Has anyone thought about what happens to the smoke inside? It'll eventually go outside.
I'm sure that this is just to stop people from blowing smoke onto each other. Maybe some senator outside had it happen to him and decided he would fight back.
