IMO real DJ's should get priority over VDJs, since anyone can download VJD or similar software, press play on 2 tracks and click the sync button and fade in. Real DJs use real decks and actually have some skill over what they're doing

I agree there. Although people who know how to use DJ software properly can be cool aswell. To me it really matters only if the music is good and if the personality of the guy and what he's talking about is quality.

Radio Presenters =/= Club DJs though.
I don't care if you use software, as long as your show is entertaining then it's fine. Who gives a shit?
Mixes are for clubs, not radio. Which some people seemingly don't get itt. You're not playing to a group of people that are drinking and partying.
You actually have to talk and accept callers and all the shit actual radio stations do.
192kb/s MP3 was what shoutpunch was using last time for its high quality stream, I think. You wouldn't really have to put a higher quality than that.

I started out with VDJ and just eventually started buying myself equipment and got myself an external soundcard. It's just a stepping stone. If you like VDJ, continue, if not, you'll probably lose interest in DJing.
When there's a link, I'll be listening.

I'm not even going to argue with how fucking arrogant this post is, "people drinking and partying"? the mix doesn't have to be crazy ass drum and bass with some mental wobbly dubstep, learn your fucking genres

If you actually aren't some stuck up idiot like you seem to be, listen to a minute or 2 of this, then tell me you'd see people dancing, taking drugs and listening to this

If you even read his post you'd know that wasn't even what he was talking about, he was saying you shouldn't put mixes on the raidio, but act professional and do live talking, answering calls etc

who said I couldn't radio DJ? I co-host the radio station at my college but I guess that has nothing to do with this

You posted this, and called me arrogant?
This is a radio station, not a club, cocktail party, or an internet station with no talking. I don't give a shit how "arrogant" I'm being. I'm just saying, our station, isn't the station you're looking for to play mixes. We're not that kind of radio station, whatever genre your mix might fucking be. On our station, you still need to talk, play jingles, have callers, guests, play requests, etc. Like I said, if you want there to be an hour or two every weekday dedicated to mixing, then have at it, but, we can't have mixes played for several hours a day.
By the way, who said you couldn't do radio presenting? I'm just saying, that your posts are, always along the lines of,
"let me do some preset mixes" and flaming me. So obviously, I'm going to think, that you're going to think to seem like this is a type of station that it isn't.
If you weren't so fucking incompetent and stupid you would have figured that out by now. So please do yourself a huge favor, and a huge service to me, and rid yourself of this thread.

Now, let me try to be nice again:
Tu154M and Lego399 are kindly working on the website, DJ accounts, and a few other things. So things are on schedule so far.
Shutup Imale, you belong in the drug discussion with me.
You can mix live. You know that, right? You can have an hourlong mix of songs mixed on the fly and talk at the same time, preferably between transitions.
Just saying.
I realize that of course. Alot of stations do that, sometimes 24/7. I don't care about those kinds of stations though, because, this isn't one. Like I've said many times, if you want a couple hours a week dedicated to live mixing, then, go ahead. But, not every day. Weekends, it's fine, but, not everyday on a peak time slot.
I really don't know how many times I can repeat that.
Ima Vdjing still does take skill, you need to learn how to use the eq's properly, be able to cue in the right places use buildups the only fundamental skill involving turntables is beatmatching.
Loads of club djs basically use Vdj but with an interface beatmatching manually otherwise it'd be laughable to call themselves djs although some pitiful people still use the sync button.
Nothing wrong with vdjing and using sync especially for radio if you want to talk at the same time and you can practice the actual mix with ease rather than having to mess around with beatmatching
It's probably no harder to talk while mixing on turntables than it is anything else you wait for the gaps in the mix where you have time and use that to talk about shit.
I'd disagree with mixing isn't for radio.. most of the best radio material in certain genres is live mixes usually by an independant artist or if skilled enough with a interesting personality the presenter themselves.
Okay, I'll agree with you that mixing can be appropriate for radio. Okay happy?
I'm just saying that we're not particulary interested in it for Shoutpunch. For the 20th time, we can have a few live mixes on the weekdays, but not every god damn day. It isn't that fucking hard to comprehend. I don't know why everyone insists on arguing with me because we're not particulary interested in mixes. Shit guys, we want people to accept calls, have on-air conversations with the viewers, have guests, and take requests. It clearly states that in the OP. I'm not having anymore of this mixing argument shit. This isn't Radio 1 Xtra or something.
If you want to do some live mixes, do it, I don't care, but, there's a limit we're putting on it whether you like it or not.
And by the way, I said weekends are for fuck all, so I don't see why people are having a problem when they can have a long as you want mix-a-thons on weekends.
It's just that, weekdays, are for talk shows, request shows, or themed shows, all with talking, callers, and requests. Not straight mixes, with the occasional voice message.
Fucking hell.
Chill man not trying to cause stress, the best thing I'd suggest is the guys who want to do live mixes pair up with a radio presenter to "MC" them as such, they can keep the mix going and the presenter can take calls and requests etc :)
I've said that before, and I'm absoulutely fine with MC's being guests on actual shows. I'm talking about shows where the MC is the presenter which needs limits.
If we have a Trance/Dubstep show where the presenter wants an occasional MC as a guest to do some live mixing, then, I'm absoulutely cool with it. As long as you can incorporate all the other stuff that any normal radio show would do, then cool.
Sorry for being all annoyed, it's just, this has been going on for a while, and it's complicated enough for Tu, Lego, and I setting everything up.

wowwwwwwwwwwwwww what does decks have to do with hosting a radio show have to do with "real DJ"ing.
I don't think facepunch knows what a radio is. How often is it that you hear mixes on the radio? Honestly.

late night bbc radio 1
All I hear late nights on Radio 1 are shitty review shows and Dev who doesn't do mixes.
Hello, I'd like to apply as a " European/British DJ"
I'd be happy to supply a daily dose of dubstep for any given day.
I approve of Dav0r Dubstep.
Well, there shall be much compromise, but, we'll work it out I guess. It's just theres a ton of people who want to do Dubstep shows.
We'll figure it out asap though.
Dav0r has the best personality by far.
This reminds me of FPTV

That was the most unrelated, arrogant post I have ever read. Also, you sound like a shit Radio DJ.
