Your musical taste isn't going to get better.[/QUOTE]
Ha! I kinda like your style racid.

Thanks :))
[QUOTE=Racid;19838986]Parkway Drive is pretty much each other band other there, they do not have a sound that differentiated them from radio metal today. They exploit breakdowns for cheap energy rushes in practically 90 percent of their songs, and their riffs are pretty much a bunch of E notes with a few higher notes in order to give it that metalcore uninventive effect.
They don't deserve to be called metalcore imo, there's much better bands out there, and they certainly don't deserve their popularity.[/QUOTE]
Man the metalcore bands you've told me to listen to is almost as bad as the stuff in the "noise music" thread.
You can't deal with anyone have different musical tastes to you, which is why you troll anyone who has a different opinion on music. Yet you continue to fuck up my thread, even after getting the first post in.
If you were to make a music thread I wouldn't invade it to piss you off, but the only one you have made consists of a Justin Beiber. Yet you say you listen to metalcore, which one would assume the general reaction would have been disgust.
It's not hard to see you're possibly the only music troll we have here on facepunch. Good day
I saw Parkway Drive, Stick To Your Guns and Mychildren Mybride at capones in mokena IL in april of '09 one of the better pits I've been in excluding outdoor venues / festivals and Parkway drive was amazing as always
Update update update.
A lot has happened since the last bump.
They've been in the studio and have finished recording the new album.
Here's a video of them in the studio, put up in the last couple of days

The new album "Deep Blue" is coming out on the 29th of June. I'm so fucking pumped, I've never looked forward to an album so much.
I'm going to get high and listen to it with my best friend the day it comes out, I cannot explain how excited I am. Here's a link

I really don't see how having songs consisting of slightly different melodies and the same fucking "chug-chug" breakdown can be considered musical talent
[editline]12:51PM[/editline]
Carrion is pretty good tho
I'm going to pretend I didn't read that.
You try adding variety to breakdowns, I love all their breakdowns but all breakdowns are essentialy opens palm muted with stuff thrown in between.
I haven't heard any of their breakdowns that I would consider the same, and I think they do breakdowns better than most other bands.
Also all of their songs, sound completely different, I'm not going to spam with you links to illustrate my point but I have no idea what you're getting at there
I don't know, I haven't listened to much metalcore, and I don't intend to.
But to me, all their breakdowns sound like the same palm muted powerchord being chugged at [I]slightly[/I] different rhythms.
well I can kind of see your point there, there's only so much variation you can have there.
Oh well, I love it :v:
And before you go all "you don't understand the music", I listen to a lot of heavy, rhythm-centred music like Meshuggah, Lamb of God and Devildriver.
[editline]01:33PM[/editline]
oh you didn't, good :v:
[editline]01:34PM[/editline]
And, I figure a breakdown can be a lot more variated than that. You know, by actually variating the chord you use.
I guess so, I wouldn't change the formula that they have.
It just works for me, there's nothing else to say.
I know what music you listen to, we participate in the same thread. That's also how you probably know what you're talking about now
Also I finally got my hands on some meshuggah and I wasn't super mindblown like everyone said I would be, I think the album I got was Catch Thirty Three.
I was dissapointed

They take some getting used to :v:
I didn't like them very much at first either, but after listening through ObZen, I truly understood their greatness.
Also I'm seeing them this summer
That sounds good.
I don't know, I just heard so much about their greatness, then I listened to this album and was like.
"oh"
[editline]11:42PM[/editline]
There are no decent gigs coming up for me, AC/DC have come and gone and I don't have much of an intrest in Metallica, who are coming to my town in september

Everyplace has their dry period. I'm sure your local area will again be blessed by the goodness of Metal soon enough.

God it'd be nice if they come to my town. Aren't Gojira supporting them or something?
Um I think it's either Gojira or In Flames as I recall
Gojira is p. awesome
I think they're pretty cool
Toxic garbage island for the win
fuck my thread has been derailed
I think we've emptied the intended subject anyway

Problem is, Gojira are just slightly more awesome than Parkway Drive :v: By the way, if you liked Toxic Garbage Island, give Remembrance a listen.
I hardly agree, but I will
I just went to see parkway drive a couple of weeks ago, fucking amazing, I managed to crowd surf on the last song, which was obviously Romance is dead. They also had like 5 support bands, none of which I liked very much, except Despised Icon, they were good.
you hate integrity but you like this band?
what the fuck is wrong with you?

Are you actually Racid in disguise?
And well, this is the same deal as with Emo
Metalcore doesn't mean the same thing now as it meant some time ago
