I miss my 88' in times like this.. even with its RWD, I could kick some serious ass.
Really hopes it snows this week. Would really love to see how these audi's handle snow.

In Sweden it's illegal to drive around with summer tires this time of year. Don't you guys have that kind of law?
Nope. No law like that here. It is illegal to drive when no snow is on the ground with studded tires, though.

Its illegal period to drive with studded tires where I live.

Even if there's snow?
Even if there's snow?
yea. They destroy the roads.
Perfectly legal here while snow is on the ground. I've never had any. We just use snow chains if it gets that bad.
[editline]9th December 2012[/editline]
We have like 4 power wagons so I don't think we'll be getting snowed in any time soon.

we cant even have chains.
So you don't use the (IMO worthless) studdless type of winter tires?
IMHO Studless > Studded, you are never really on icy/snowy pavement all the time enough to be okay to be on studded tires anywhere. Studs destroy the road and in case of a hard braking, will make you slide like if you were on ice, just on dry pavement.

Fair enough, depends on where you live I guess. I drive on compacted snow 6 months a year so studless has never really been an alternative.
Pardon my ignorance.

The roads will be cleared of snow by 3a tomorrow.... just in time for school.

dude, with the shitty ass global warming, I always drive on icy pavement, never snow and never complete asphalt. My studded are awesome I love 'em
studless is fucking horrible in winter conditions

I don't know for you, but I often have asphalt pavement, wet without ice in sunny winter days, even if -30c here. Keep seeing people with studded tires in november and up to april, these folks are dangerous in november, some december, hot days of winters and march/april. And everywhere they put enough salt or any main roads. Never had a single issue driving studless tires.
IMHO if you rely on studded tires, you should revisit your driving skills. (Not aimed at you Thermal, don't worry.)
yea. They destroy the roads.
Well that's dumb. People driving off the roads and crashing is much better than the road taking some damage every now and then.

In Minnesota, we repave our roads like every-other year. So much frost-wedging going on.
Went over to the girl's house to pick up some stuff I left there on friday. Driving there was fine, most of the roads were paved. I got to her street.... BAM. Plows havent touched it all day. Plus, she lives at the bottom of a U hill. Almost didnt make it out.
Minnesota does allow snow chains. But only in snow, and generally only in rural areas.
Sell Altima. Use money to buy 300zx/S13/S14 with good engine already
Or buy 200sx/Sentra like Bradley said. Or be cool and buy a 90's Maxima and do a swap
Something like this?

terrible downgrade as far as lastability
