Freaking backwoods laptop people man Get jimmies rustled over an old ass copypasta what lol
That forum is pretty bad at times... probably going to migrate to one of the comanche forums or a different cherokee community soon...
God damn, Conk. That was a good read. Erryone freaking out about fuck all. *wipes tear from eye* Fucking beautiful.

just a note to the general populace please make sure you fully understand the concept of gaskets before attempting to change your own oil [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/howtheactualfuck.jpg[/t]
You know what, It amazes me on how I put the oil filter on snugly and it takes the power of 9000 suns to get it back off after 5k miles. Fucking magic.
that shit happens all the time, people like to use the old oil or nothing at all to lube the gasket before hand tightening it either that or they crank it on with a band wrench [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] totally not implying that's what you did btw, i've just done a LOT of oil changes and I see that shit all the time
I'm guilty of lubing with old oil :v: And it's the worst when I have to take off a filter that feels like it's been tightened by Thor himself, band wrenches and filter pliers crush the hell out of the filter
Hand tight dawg [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] And I lube it with old oil, I don't even give a fuck. I've never had a problem removing a filter I put on. :v:
hand tight and lube with new oil or even ATF if you have it on hand, that shit'll come off smooth like butter i remember actually crushing a filter so bad with a two-point that it punctured the side of it, had to get two guys on it to just get it moving [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Del91;38822390]Hand tight dawg [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] And I lube it with old oil, I don't even give a fuck. I also change my oil EVERY 3 months. I don't have an Odometer so I can't go by mileage. :\ My oil is usually pretty dark though. [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] I just dip it in the drain pan before twisting it on.
I can only kind of read my odometer. I just keep track when the thousand place 'number' changes. [t]http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/2882/wp000788.jpg[/t] It's not always the number it looks like as well.
Speaking of ATF, that shit is an awesome polisher. I use it to polish my black shoes at work, it makes them shine like new. We also use it to polish our black trash cans, it makes them look brand new too :v:
yeah sometimes my odometer works sometimes it doesn't. Seems after 55 miles at the end it ticks back second i get back to double zeros it goes all fucked up again. Pressing the adjustable dash lighting knob really hard makes it come back fully so it's just a loose connector
Mechanically driven odometer master race.

Stupid Chinese oil filter isn't even the industry standard size; my wrench didn't fit. Had to tap a screwdriver into that thing. Only made the engine more baked with oil. Mess everywhere ughhhhh. Bought oversized filter wonder how I'm gonna attach it now

I had a carved up swiss cheese looking filter I would threaten people I knew with if they ever mentioned using or buying a Fram. We had to use like a pipe wrench or something around the base of the filter, bend it slightly and then break it loose. It took like 2 hours and 4 people to get off the truck..

[img]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41WDAhTpWiL._SL500_SS500_.jpg[/img] I use this at work and it has never failed me
I almost shorted out my alt trying to get an oil filter on, that's why I am installing the oil cooler kit. Moves the filter to the back of the engine from the front.

[img]http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/560793_480477288653849_88585154_n.jpg[/img] Fender is post-polish, rest of the car is what it looked like before.

Hooked up dat snap-on scanner to muh comanche, teacher said he probably used the adaptor once in the 20 years he's had it. So once i fix my exhaust (probably after christmass) It should stop dumping fuel like a motherfucker. Also my MAP sensor is being screwy.
