Do you know a lot about rotaries? Because if you buy that car, you either learn about it, or eventually destroy the car. Ask the guy if it has been rebuilt (Probably not) because those engines need to be rebuilt every 100k miles. Otherwise they are really fun cars if you can survive the maintenance, I've driven one before and I liked it.
I did not know about that, I'll take note.. I'm a very indecisive person now, I'm looking at this 240sx lol http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/3310893725.html he says it hasn't been taken through aircare though, I'm a fuckin car noob so is that pretty important?
electroholic, if you get a prelude, get a 3rd or 4th gen. the 5's aren't anything special IMO, they look like integras. also feel free to consult me regarding the 4th gen since I know a bit about it, specifically what things to look out for

Since you seem to be into tuners, I can make a few suggestions. -MR2 -Mk3 Supra -Celica GT-four (if you can find it in Vancouver, I couldn't :[) -AE86 (if you can find one in Vancouver that isn't ricer taxed, I couldn't) -Datsun 270z -300zx -
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/3252917846.html
-
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bnc/ctd/3305513171.html
(this one is a hatchback and I know a lot of people can't look past that) -FC RX-7 And now for a few non-tuner cars! -Volvo 240 (great sleeper car! Not so great if you just want to look steezy for all your friends) -Crown Vic (refer to Volvo comment) -Miata (refer to Volvo comment) -FoxBody Mustang Hope this helps.
Holy shit I wish I had 8k right now. whoa someone else here is from calgary??
I only know of 3 Alberta AA-er's, myself included. Good chunk of alberta Fpers.

I think I will follow it, and try staying away from project cars.. And those are some great suggestions! I've actually tried looking for an AE86 too but I can't really find anything either :S I absolutely love that car [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline]
whoa someone else here is from calgary??
I'm there a lot too, although I don't live there. Might move there next summer
To Luminaire and Electroholic take our advice because most of the people here have owned or have friends that have owned those cars. Greenguy238 actually created a nice list for you. Luminaire, that 240sx is a pretty good/average price for an already-modded 240sx. Other cars: Nissan S13 Coupe/Hatchback Nissan S14 Nissan S15/200SX/Silvia Nissan Pulsar w/ CA18 engine Nissan Skyline any Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution any Mitsubishi 3000GT Mitsubishi Eagle Talon Toyota MR2 Toyota Supra any Toyota AE86 Toyota Levin Toyota Cressida Older-gen Subaru Imprezas Mazda FC/FD RX7 Mazdaspeed 6 Mazda Miata any Honda S2000 Honda Civic Si There's so many things you can do; that Celica is so overpriced man. They're supposed to be at the most, $3000 and that's in a decent, non-modified condition. Save your money and don't buy it cause it looks good. Don't be like this kid at my work who's buying a short-ram intake for his Honda Civic when his piston rings were blown. Go basic and know your car facts first. Get that cheap car and spend the rest on the repairs, (which you damn well know you will encounter with used cars). Just makes sense but take our word with a grain of salt; its your money http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/3281304035.html Something like this; a right-hand-drive tuner with all the good stuff already taken care of. This is worth more than the $6000 and you've got plenty to spare http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-93-Nissan-240SX-rb20-swap-W0QQAdIdZ412889333 A strong and rare engine; body panels are plenty to come by http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1990-Nissan-240SX-Hatchback-W0QQAdIdZ411692833 Some stock flavoring? Mod it yourself http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-Nissan-240SX-sr20-blacktop-W0QQAdIdZ411083515 Decent price for a good engine and rare panels and Silvia front ETC ETC
Parking the jeep till i get it working right. So the Civic becomes my DD now. not sure how i feel about this decision, other than now i can go more than a few miles on $20 of gas... Truck needs the crossover pipe to pass inspection.. going to go to a junkyard to hopefully snag one for cheap. Still fucking overheats though, dont know what the hell else to do. Probably change the radiator and wire the aux fan to a switch..
4.0 Jeep overheating? Thermostat good? Water pump not destroyed? Likely BHG. Have fun having that one-million-pound head milled. I had to help my father and the mechanic we had working for us drop one into place because of the sheer weight of it.
my jeep overheated too actually my coolant was pretty murky, thats probably why it sucked
It only overheats when im going under 10mph offroad Second i get up to speed she cools fine. I dont lose any coolant, it has a new thermostat, and afaik the water pump is ok (not making any terrible noises at least). Also no smoke on startup/wot, only smoke from oil dripping on the exhaust. [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] And i mean like it got to almost the bottom of the big red square that indicates "hey fuckface, im overheating eh?" so i pulled out of the sand pit as fast as i could and then cruised at about 35, cooled down to the normal op range and was fine the rest of the night.
Need a good fan then, brah. Try throwing a cheap e-fan in front of the rad too if you're going to mud it alot at low speeds.
so... I was walking home from school yesterday and I was like, "oh, what's that humming behind me? oh hey, it's an evo 6... driven by an old lady" and then you never heard it do anything fun :< [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] oh and she was so tiny she could barely see over the wheel.
brummmmm
Woo going to get my new to me 1989 Ford Bronco. Fucking cannot wait.
brummmmm
Oh dam simi sim has the four door 240 DL.
so just a friendly tip but if your driving and a situation comes up that involves hitting a deer or going into a field. turn bambi into bambi burgers......A friend of mine was driving my car (I was in the passenger seat) we were going down a back road bambi stepped out we swerved hit a wet patch slid off the road went 75 yards straight into a field and smacked 4 trees. The car is totaled if I was driving I probably wouldn't be breathing right now (the driver side took most of the impact we hit so hard the roof on the driver side bent into a V) but luckily we walked away with nothing more major then bruises and scrapes. Had we been a couple feet over we woulda missed the trees but dropped 45 feet into a ravine so were lucky in that regard too. I'll post pictures of the car when we go to the tow yard
Sitting in the bed of your buddy's pickup truck while he does donuts and romps puddles in his F series Fuckin love it. The best part is that I convinced the kid who is always scared to do shit to sit in the bed with me while everyone else stayed in the cab.
Finally, I found the Super GT broadcast. It's currently taking place at Fuji Speedway. They got the CR-Z racing and it's on 2nd place at lap 45. And Calsonic GT-R is currently leading the race. holy shit the prius is right behind the crz right now
I wouldn't say no to this either
Love that video Destroys the bmw lol
2jz in a Volvo is quite insane but also quite doable, since toyota and volvo share the same transmission.
Ok, so I decided that the celica I posted earlier is a bad deal. I found this gold though: http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1992-Mitsubishi-3000GT-GTO-VR4-Need-To-Sell-Moving-W0QQAdIdZ417544476 What do you think? I'm kinda nervous about driving an import car with the steering wheel on the right side of the car. I suppose I would get used to it though. lmao so I was driving my car as you tend to do that with (working) vehicles the turn signals were clicking fast again so I was driving a bit cautious it was fine all the way to my destination but the second I turned off the car it just lost all power. lights wouldn't turn on, starter wouldn't crank. popped the hood, saw nothing was wrong, shut the hood. started right up methinks something is loose
the turn signals in my Golf click fast all the time because I changed the front indicators with LED ones without extra resistance :v:
Should invest in resistor someday :v:
:v:
I found this nice Mitsubishi 3000GT for $5000, but it needs a new transfercase which the mechanic quoted as ~$1000. So $6000 doesn't seem too bad: http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-Selling-or-trading-my-baby-W0QQAdIdZ414873768
