It was probably one of the shippers.
Had 78 cars go through the quick lube shop I work at today... after the first 50 cars the words "I just need an oil change" made me want to go apeshit
I'm just frustrated really. I've somehow never gotten anything defective through the mail in my life, it's my first time. And my car needed new brakes a year ago.
So I've spent the past few weeks thinking of ways to start saving up money for a car. My friend's birthday was last night so him/his parents show up in the red Jeep he just got for his birthday. It's a 2004 with 82k miles. He didn't have to put a single penny into it and doesn't even have his permit yet. Fuck me.
I'd like to ask a question while I'm still researching online. I literally know nothing about cars. My parents are looking to purchase a car for normal every day use. Since I don't browse this section, where would the best place be to ask this question in more detail? Creating a thread I guess?
Just saw one of those Nissan Cube while out shopping for gifts, and oh god they're ugly, almost puked a little
So i ordered some new front discs and brake pads from tire rack. When they arrived, it looked like all of the boxes had been opened before, and the brake pads had stickers peeled off the box, and wasn't taped shut anymore. That was irritating, but whatever. It's not the first time i got something i suspected of being opened before i got it. What DID piss me off, is that two of the brake pads have large nicks in the surface. So i call their support number and they aren't open until Monday. Fuck you Tire Rack for sending me opened, damaged items.
Was it shipped by UPS? We deliver boxes that are held together by nothing occasionally, In the back of the truck fragile means nothing, if you want it over there, you fucking lob it to the front of the truck.

When I got my computer case (RV01 @ 50lbs) It came via UPS Freight. We backed up to the 18-wheeler and he literly shoved it off the back of his rig. But there is times were I order something expensive off a tuning site/newegg and the ups dude calls me on his personal phone to tell me he is at the gate. (I have a note on the gate "Emergancy / UPS Man please contact XXX-XXX-XXXX") I would be pissed If I had a 2.7t, S4 6spd drive train coming via UPS Freight and it got damaged. (hint)
was plowing through the snow with a bobcat today. it isnt a car but I was dorifting that shit. I want to do it again
How much is that jag? That just looks like it needs the wet rag treatment.
I'm afraid that is paint and those door panels are ruined. You could get some paint thinner and remove it but I don't know how those plastic doors would hold up to that.

But yeah, you'd need one hell of a wet rag
AFAIK its LATEX house paint. If so that'd be easy to clean up. Now The interior no the other hand, Iunno how easy that'll be to clean up. (Look closely Its freaking covered in paint all over inside.
Would it be possible/has it been done: swapping a fwd V8 drivetrain from a 00's Monte into a civic or something?
Water pump is leaking on the GTI. Not surprised, they almost always fail between 85k and 95k. Don't have the money for a new one yet so I'm gonna just have to keep an eye on the coolant for a while. Fortunately its a slow leak.
Would it be possible/has it been done: swapping a fwd V8 drivetrain from a 00's Monte into a civic or something?
00 Monte didn't even have supercharged v6(2004+), they also didn't have ls4 in them(2006+). And I doubt a FWD LS4 would fit in a tincan.
00's, as in 2000-2009 model years.(in general) I feel like if it coyle fit it'd be pretty cool
It is possible to put a FWD Volvo 850 engine into a RWD Volvo 240 body, you just need to do some magic. I know this, I saw one on Blocket for like $2800 whilst still being a project with mostly body features, but it did run!
How much is that jag? That just looks like it needs the wet rag treatment.
wet with paint remover
00's, as in 2000-2009 model years.(in general)
How big is the engine bay? The Ls4 is fairly crammed into the W-Body bay already. They are fairly cheap to come by Though. Debating my self What to do once my warranty is up since My Transmission is starting to fuck up. IF your keeping the 4T65-E, Be sure to have it Rebuit by someone who knows them well. They don't live all that long mated to the LS4 from the factory. If My Boyfriend and I get our mortgage next Month and get our new house, I'm so buying one. Place has a 24x26 garage just begging for a lift. My dad has a car lift in his workshop, it's amazingly useful.
Woke up this beautiful morning, Having my birthday today, and a fuck ton of snow.. If everyone from this car thread was in a pub, i'd give a round. Cheers lads.
Happy birthday!
Today I've had my car license for three years :v:
So, I am 11 days from getting to the age where I can learn to drive a moped. Should I try to get my license for it? Having a moped has some nice advantages and some disadvantages. This is one of those shifter moped thingies that look like bikes. It's nice, but I don't know if I should get something like this. [t]http://robkuijpersmotoren.nl/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/rs4-replica.jpg[/t]
Well, how much is it for a license? (and what do you have to do?) When it comes to the bike, I find that those "sports" mopeds aren't that cool, especially with that one, it's got the looks of a fast bike, but then it comes around the corner at 45km/h. It's fair enough when you've got 125cc or more, where the body actually has a big effect on it's speed, but with a 50cc? I'd much rather go for an off-roader.
