If any of you guys are interested in pictures, take a look at this album I made for you. The pictures aren't sorted, but you'll have to live with that :)
The day went great, we got stuck one time as you can see in 2 of the pictures, my friend went pretty fast and hit a tree stump. He hurt his knee a bit, that's the reason he's on the ground :v:
Oh, I broke my steering column, an old weld on it broke. Luckily enough I could drive the snowmobile home without much trouble.
What model is that red one? I see it has an automatic kill switch.
I still have three snowmobiles from the 80's I think.. super deadly. Super fast. No auto kill switch.

In other news, I got my first digital camera. Its going to get a lot of use in 2013.

It's a Lynx Rave 600.
Mine is an Arctic Cat El Tigre EXT 530. I've got a tether switch as well, but I can't use it since it's cracked and broken.
[editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
Oh mine is also from the 80's, from 1989 to be exact.

I need to get a new one.. However, it'll have to wait until I get my career going. Cant make any more big purchases in High school
I got my snowmobile for free :D It was a bit broken, but that's fixed.
Oh and I *might* have put 2-stroke oil in the coolant bottle thinking it was a reserve tank for the oil.
our 1998 ford escort got a new oil filter after leaking out every time we put oil in (no new filter or oil change for like 6+ years), car now runs fine, fast forward 6 hours when we're driving to work, we hear a very feint knocking wood pecker like sound (I couldn't hear it when my brother pointed it out), get about halfway to work, hear a grinding sound like something came loose and is dragging on the road. We pull over to look at what it is, can't find anything sitting on the road anywhere, what I think was green antifreeze (it was dark) is leaking from the center of it. Wait a couple hours for a ride to get there, start car to move it to try to avoid being impounded (we were in front of a gate) the car makes a sound like rocks in a washing machine.
Mechanic Facepunch, what do you think my problem is (pistons?)

can the car drive normally?
what is the idle temperature like?
It smokes to shit on start and I'm not sure how hot it gets.

We also smelled rubber while driving and I thought it might have been a belt but leaking fluids make me think it's more than that.
Dirt on the lens?
The more I look at it it seams like the lens was poked with a nail.
:tinfoil:
Good job, Pininfarina. Look at those sleek lines, that roof definitely look so good on the car. 10/10 would barf again.

This website has some helpful articles concerning 86s and other articles on general tuning and driving, It may be of help to some of you.
Finally. Home.
Shoveled snow today for 9 hours. Made just under $100 doing it too.
Manly labor.
Found a crx in some guys shed a couple towns over... sort of want but poorfaggin it, yo ;_;
I called tirerack and asked what i needed to do to exchange the damaged brake pads they sent me. The operator asked me to send a picture, so i did, and she saw and agreed that they were unacceptable.
After that she told me that she was going to forward it to whomever with my order number, and they were going to email me about what to do from there. I check my email today and had a 'Shipping Confirmation' email from tirerack.
So i guess i just get new brake pads, and also get these chipped ones for free.
I can't complain.
Battery died, got tired of being best friend with the jumper cable. The ol' 660CCA AcDelco battery is no more, in some 770CCA battery.
Changing battery at -17c when you have to remove a few things there and there is a real pain.
Maybe before I get a blacktop I might try installing some Keihin FCR carbs or MSR carbs on the old motor.
Most likely it'll be which ever I can get a good deal on, newer ones can run up to 1000$ and up! Yikes!
but i'm sure I can find a set for a good price.

They're both bike carbs so it'll be interesting for sure.
Also they both use a sort of trap door valve system as opposed to butterfly valves, which produces less turbulence.
This'll be good experience with side draft carbs

Looks pretty wild!
Or maybe I should start with some basic webbers till i have a good knowledge of carbs in the first place
I always dream too big and jump the gun
People who ask for a tire rotation in the middle of winter, especially when it's close to closing are dicks. Luckily, we have our set of excuses :v:
"the hydraulic lift is broken"
"the impact wrench is broken"
"we don't have the correct lug socket size"
Girlfriend got to try her s13 in a big parking lot tonight. She's learned how to move from a stop. Also to shift to second gear. As well as stopping to neutral. I suppose she's feeling the car out. She's so used to the spongy automatic pedal in her Corolla that when she finally got into a drive-by-wire accelerator she finds she has a lead foot. That was fun.
Halfway into our practice a MADD TYTTE DORIFTU gang came rolling into the parking lot. It's like something out of Initial D. A Lexus SC400, a 02-04 Mustagn convertible and a VIP Toyota Sequoia. They didn't see what car we were in at first, evidently they went and tried to park in the middle of the lot. Then they got a closer look and all of a sudden they booked it out of there. Just some S13 hatch doing circles around the light pole though lol
