Just talked to my dad. He bought a 1UZ-FE LS400 for parts in the salvage. Time to convince him to give me beefcake Toyotafat V8 power so I can put it in something cool.
rated 1x Jealous
In my opinion, I wouldn't want any modded car. Who knows how well of a job they did?
My friend ran into this - the Tiburon he bought was modded, but put back to stock sans a custom sound system before it was sold to him. The O2 sensors were so shittily hacked that they laid literally on top of the exhaust and cooked. And that wasn't even the worst of the wiring, but it was the most immediate problem
You still got your Corolla? [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] Ninjas man. I swear to god.
I don't have a Corolla. If you mean the Celica, I'm currently tearing into it to put a timing chain in it because I refuse to drive it with chain slack like it had.
er...yeah. Thought it was a Celica, but second guessed. :( But seriously, V8 swap.
I feel pretty dumb, when i made the post about parking the jeep I was pretty upset. I thought i needed another $200 in parts I needed $68 in parts. :D (4 day shipping)
It was going to be a V8 swap but I've decided to keep it 22RE for now, and I have recieved (though have to go pull) a special engine just for the Celica sometime soon. ThermalArc has been pestering me to find out what it is but it'll remain a secret for now.
is it not a certain toyota motor I have quoted in an above post?
If the other Alberta guys are interested in any cars up in Edmonton if it's not too far away I wouldn't have a problem with looking at them for you, just depends where the are. [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] On an unrelated note I'm fixing up some long tube headers for my ram, going to go into 2 duals that will dump right down, any recomendations on mufflers?
Glasspacks :v: (I know its a resonator, but still)
well shit mightymax is free
FUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Flowmaster 40s or 44s for v8 :v Or SLP Loudmouth
I'm thinking dual classic 40s, the coronet has them and it sounds great, but it does have like 3.8 liters on my engine. I'll see how the rumble is for open headers and then determine from there how much I want the mufflers to... muffle. Exhaust would be 3 inches in and out, I have an idea for a really cool style of exhaust but I don't think I can do it on my truck due to space issues on the underside (gas tank gets in the way) [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] I'm thinking 2 of these would've pretty rad, if I had the space of would have them come out the side into a 1970 challenger style exhaust tip, for now I would just leave it open right after. 3 inch in, 2 2.5 inch tubes out.
cherrybomb on the lude huge aftermarket spoiler carbon fiber hood monster decals what could go wrong [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] everyone knows your acceleration is dictated by how loud you are
well shit mightymax is free
he won't come back to rustle our jimmies anytime soon, he's too busy bitching about how we are a circlejerk
if you know nothing about a boosted car, then i wouldn't buy a modded car with a turbo on it. just my two cents
May I ask why? I'm not going to pretend I know much about turbo.. but I'll have to learn eventually, right? I just have to take it easy until I learn more about it and hope my engine is in one piece by the end of it.
Can someone recommend me a car that has a backseat, is priced low, and has significant aftermarket parts or easy engine swaps. I was looking at a 94 integra but not certain about it, any suggestions?
civics and accords meet that pretty well integra too but that's a honda too
A grand prix, impala, regal with the 3.8, preferably s/c :v:
240sx if you have short friends

Integra's are pretty good, all of the Honda's are good too. You just have to watch for ones that are beat the piss out of or you get a automatic which are normally better kept. I got my box of little things from Honda(AcuraOEMParts.com really), $20 of stuff for my ebrake handle, OEM blank keys, oil pan bolts and some front plate hole block off clips! Now I just need the other stuff I ordered off another forum to get here so I can replace my chewtoy of an ebrake from a previous owner...
not everyone wants to work on their car thats all
Sure who really does to the extent where they can't drive (I know this for a fact). But with performance-oriented mods, its hard to determine the craftsmanship of the previous owner without you doing your own modding
From what I can find the cherry bomb pro muffler (not a resonator) seems like a pretty good muffler, better flow than flowmaster, half the price, and a great sound.
