I can't believe how irresponsible some people are.
I'm sorry, I don't recall asking you to be an ass because I don't have anyone to tell me shit about cars.
Guess what? I didn't either. My friends don't know shit about cars, and my dad wasn't in my life at all. I learned everything I know about cars from youtube, cartalk, and just reading on the internet and figuring things out on my own.
Shiban - your 240sx is no comparison to these cars. The 240 handles worlds better (and is almost quicker) than any 80's generation Z.
The 280ZX's suspension gemoetry is identical to the 240SX...
EDIT: Aside from rear diff, mind you. But those swaps aren't too hard.

Buuuut the 280ZX is a complete pig in terms of weight. I've driven both of those cars and I can easily say the 240 handles better by a large margin, that 200 pounds really does make a huge difference. Plus, aftermarket parts to make the 240 one hell of a sweet ride are plentiful and cheap, unlike the 280.
Do you know anything about cars? How do you not know it's fwd? Did you not look under the hood for one second to see a sideways-mounted motor?
And no, most fwd cars are no fun to drive. Ever wonder why sports cars are always RWD?

my fwd civic is fun to drive :c
holy fuck why is america so bad at everything

Although I think its on a show/display license because it isn't within the 96-98 range
Do you guys ever regret buying a certain car/ wonder where you'd be right now as far as vehicular tastes and such if you had bought or kept a certain car?
Scary shit.. or something, I dunno.
i feel like a shithead but i hate my dad for not just helping me out when all those $800 80's/90's 4x4's popped up on CL, christ I coulda had a 80's military blazer, HD axles and lockers all around, but he convinced me that detroit diesels were the converted gas engines and that they were shit.
Now 2 years later I still have a rusty old ford that I cant find parts for and dont want to risk taking a fall on a parts truck, and now my jeep needs a trans, and a floor.
:suicide:
bubububut the Detroits aren't converted, those are those weird Oldsmobile 350's. I'd be super jelly if you had one, I've wanted to buy one for a couple of years now.
They're weak as far as stock diesels go, but it's still a full size pickup from the 80's that capable of 25+mpg. :v:
And it's a Detroit so it sounds awesome.

It's not quite as bad as you're making it sound. It's still loads better than a 'murrica-made 3rd/4th gen Camaro, Fox Body mustang, etc.
And they're less supported than the 240SX of course, because they're an older platform. But with a good swap and rear diff conversion (To an S13 diff setup, there are tons of writeups), they are excellent cars.
Christ, foxbody mustangs are pigs:

My dart weighed 2750 factory, wonder what it will be at with my fiberglass hood and light engine. If it was full glass though it would probably weigh nothing, I think the hemi darts were 2200.
My coronet weighed 3601 factory, I honestly dont think this is all that bad for a full steel 17.5 ft-long land yacht with an 800 pound big block.
2200 factory weight with the elephant? Surely you mean rolling weight or something.
I'm having to drive back and forth between different campuses this semester every other day.
I used an eighth or ninth of my gas tank in a single day.
7 speed transmission pls
2200 factory weight with the elephant? Surely you mean rolling weight or something.
according to this video I just watched, LO23 dart was 3150 pounds with a 600hp elephant. 4.88 Gears

Finally getting front mount action, more to come tomorrow :D
I was just guessing, i didnt think the hemi would be too much heavier than the other engines, and the car was stripped right down and give full glass front and lighter doors, even going as far as making some of the glass thinner.

Found this, maybe ill be sitting at 2700 when its all done.
Agreed for the 300ZX, but I disagree on the 280ZX. I had a '79 and did drive it around a couple times, it felt really tight and small. They don't feel as big as the 300ZX or the S30 chassis, they feel like a compact. I'd definitely buy one again given the chance.
If this applies to the 90s 300zx's, then ehhhh
The Z32 300ZX feels like a very big car when driving it, despite being small.
Anything else I should know about them? Gonna do a lot of research, figure this would be a good place to start

You have to pull out the engine to do any kind of engine maintenence
VG30 is a fucking garbage engine
Get one that has a swap, even an SR20 is better.
Holy FUCK it's snowing, and it haven't snowed this much in several weeks! 1 inch per minute, this will be a good day!
How can you like white shit?
Because RWD! Wrommmm
Your car does not like road salts very much, unless you live somewhere, where snow is rare as fuck and get to drift one time or two a year and not 6 months.
But cold temp. is worse than snow on the mechanics though.

Someone People just do. OR Your like me and own a $8000 Snowmobile. I require snow to justify owning such an asset.
Just applied for a new job, starting at $1.50 an hour more than I make now, for less work, and after a three month probation I get bumped up another .50-$1.50. Gonna be needing the money really bad here soon. My current job just isn't cutting it. Asked for a raise a month ago, and I'm still waiting on a response, and still no 90 day/6 month/year(anything, really, please?) review in sight. Been a full employee for just over a year now, and the temps just got a raise because minimum wage went up, so I'm making less than a dollar(.85) more than the monkeys on the line swinging hammers. While I'm building, testing, and refurbishing computers and accessories. Not to mention all the paperwork that goes with it. Hoping it works out though.
