Only problem being, I don't know anything about cars whatsoever.
I drive an '05 (B7) A4, and I can tell you this can be a big problem down the road unless you're made of money/have connections.
Audi's are super high maintenance, and pretty damn expensive upkeep. I do a bit of the work myself, but I work at a shop so any services that I can't do myself, I bring in to my shop and the boss gives me an awesome deal.
Yeah they usually do. Get some cheapo ones, should be fine anyhow.
Also, Is there anything else I should add to the list?

Well I'm quite technical, Doing a technical study actually right now. I'm easy at picking up new things so I won't have any problems along the way learning new things as stupid as it sounds or whatever.
What I'm trying to say is, I'm willing to learn and do things myself.
Oh and I've got another question, Can't seem to find a solid answer on the internet.
Does the A4 B6 model with the 1.8 engine always come with a turbo? I've also ran into a nice B6 with a 3.0 V6 Quattro engine with 220hp, Only 70k miles on it for just 8500$. Thing I'm worried about is the fuel consumption. Gasoline here expensive as fuck, I pay like 1.8euro p liter. (That's 2,4USD per liter)

According to wiki : Yes

Your car is a B6 A4
-edit-
Also, what would you like to start learning about?
In general being able to maintain my own car would be a start I guess haha, And being able to work on it if that's what you call it. By now I've pretty much decided I'll be getting an B6 model and pretty much every single B6 here has the stock plastic caps all around the bottom of the car. So being able to replace those with something more stylish as described in an earlier post would also be cool. You know stuff like that.
Maybe later on go more into dept, and tell me if I'm saying stupid stuff or unrealistic things because I've got no idea what I'm talking about. But I mean stuff like upgrading parts? as in giving it some more power.
First thing you need to learn taking off the bumper.

First I would start with the most basic thing you can learn to do : change a flat
It may seem like the most simple thing but I would print out and read over some instructions anyway.
http://www.edmunds.com/how-to/how-to-change-a-flat-tire.html
another important thing that some people forget to mention is that when you jack up a car : use only the jack points on the body of the car. Not using jack points can result in damage to the vehicle, The jack points are strong, flat, and specially made for jacking.
http://www.carsdirect.com/car-repair/how-to-find-your-cars-jack-points
that or use the frame rail if your car is rusted to shit
even the lift points will bend and crush if you've got rust down there
if you want to learn how to into cars, get something domestic or japanese, you fuck something up and it's easy/cheap to fix
you fuck up something on a euroswag like an A4, you could be out a lot of money
For reading on how a engine works :

We can explain any questions you may have.
Also keep in mind that combustion is just a fancy word for fire
And that fire is composed of 3 elements : Fuel, Air, and a spark (also called heat). This is summed up as the triangle of fire.
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/20/Fire_triangle.svg/220px-Fire_triangle.svg.png[/t]
The proportions of the 3 elements control the power generated.

Also, I should solve the mystery of what performance is too.
There are 2 main components of performance:
Power
Weight
Power is effort over time
Torque represents effort
RPM represents how often effort is done (or time)
To calculate horsepower the equations is:
(2pi(Torque)(RPM))/33000
2pi represents the number of radians in a complete turn (in physics we use radians instead of degrees, as i remember.)
33000 is the coefficient for horsepower, without it we would have raw power exerted over 2pi
other power ratings (like PS and KW) use different numbers for that value.
so we find the power, exert it over 2pi, then divide by 33000 to bring it into a typical number relating to horses.
Originally horsepower was for farmers to easily get a sense of what a engine could replace.
So why use horsepower today?: is it cooler to light a bunch of lightbulbs or have 1000 horses charging at full speed in front of you?
Different engines have different proportions of torque and rpm
Low displacement engines rev high, which gives them power.
and high displacement engines rev little, which gives them the same power.
The main trade off is that low displacement engines cant tow a lot of weight
high displacement engines use up a lot of gas.
Next is weight
An easy way to do more work is to require less effort
Engines are the heaviest part of a car (aside from the frame in some cases, which is the car)
A high number of cylinders is very heavy, but can distribute stress over many parts.
Low number of cylinders are light but under high constant stress.
Exchanging car parts for lighter parts decreases weight
if those parts are also stronger, you can increase power.
Another way to look at it is that a car with 1000 horsepower that weighs 1000 pounds would be evenly matched by a car with 1 horsepower weighing 1 pound.
This is the basics of performance.

This question is mainly directed towards brad but if you giys know the answer or can help out in any way then go ahead.
Ive been doing a load of reasearch on a LS swap into my 2000 camaro with a 3.8, the whole swap is in the $2000 range, it will be with a 6.0L LQ4 with an LS1 intake. The biggest thing im having to get around right now is the fuel injection and PCM. You can buy a stock LS1 PCM ($90) and bolt it in place of the v6 one (although you can flash the PCM with a V8 tune i think you need a program to do that), with the engine in along with the trans (i have the trans part all figured out)hook a stock LS1 wiring harness to the engine which should work and run the 6.0 using the LS1 tune which could be a little rough or work fine because people have changed cams and not the fuel map in any way and the engine works fine, same with adding intakes and headers.
Does this seem all right to you, anything I would have to look for in specific.
Only thing I can think of with that mileage that is important is timing belt... ( I know nothing about the euro engines maitence)
<3
which is easily changeable
Okay so for the 2000 Jetta 2.0L GL we're looking at $900ish for:
New Timing Belt
New Water Pump
New H-Class tires (with A traction and A temperature rating)
(this is from firestone)

going to take a guess shipping and all would be 600$
I would say a knowlageable person could change it in around 3hrs or less. (80ish$ a hr)
Soo that quote is not THAT bad...I would just make sure there not fucking you by "Only putting a new timing belt on."
which is easily changeable
Define "easily".
I know on my 2.8 jesus fuck all this shit just to get to a thermostat Arggggggg
This is including labor too, forgot to mention that. Merchants quoted us for $1,200, Mr. Tire doesn't do timing belts, and Pep Boys was like $1,600.
Firestone said they would definitely throw in the water pump too since they already have the engine off, it just makes sense instead of forcing them to rip it off again.
The issue with going with someone else is that I wouldn't even know where to begin to find someone that can do it, nor would I be able to convince mother's boyfriend. It's not like I'm paying for this either by the way, since my grandmother put $15,000 into my sister's 300 mile 2010 Civic she wants to do the same for me (although the economy has really changed her money situation so she can't just drop $15,000 for me). She's decided to pay for any replacements/repairs for the Jetta though, so that's a plus!
I turn 18 today and my license expires today. It's Sunday.
Can I renew it tomorrow with no hassle? I totally spaced out about getting it renewed.

Turbo or supercharged 3800, be the cool kid on the block. Ever research into that?
I mean the Grand Prix GTP has the same engine supercharged, you could probably bolt a lot of the stuff on.

The GTP being a FWD has the intake facing the wrong way, none of that stuff is bolt-on for the RWD 3.8 unfortunately.
GN stuff would likely be the same... Turbocharging may be an easier path.
As far as the LS swap, you need a full LS harness otherwise you'll be missing two injector wires from the harness completely. Currently going through a V6-to-LT1 swap for a customer (slash friend of sorts), and it will basically require us to take and shell one car and put all the stuff on the V6 car, including the subframe and dash harness.
Well, this is just beginner stuff, and I don't want to spend a lot of money the first time.

But I was just thinking that all those crazy bits usually cost $$$$
I've got two sets, a S&W and an unknown, probably cheap one. They're really useful, I've almost stopped using normal screwdrivers (I only use them when the hole is too tight for the screwdriver-thingy that holds the bits) I use the S&W one as a normal size one, and the unknown one for smaller screws, like the one in my butterfly comb.

Still would be cool from what I've seen.
I would love to either do a dual turbo or a super charge my foxbody. the pain is either route
will cost me $7000+
No way, there are people running ebay twin kits just fine for like, half that in their whole setup.
[editline]13th January 2013[/editline]
Supercharging just isn't worth the money for what you get in return.

Twin-charge (turbo and super) it and be the coolest guy I know.
So I've bought most of the stuff on my list.
About 250+ pieces in all, decent quality
I also got some spicy Cheetos, yum!
