So some asshole in a little riced RSX decides to cut across two lanes and right in front of me on the highway, keep in mind the snow is just melting so he's throwing rocks into my windshield. So I decide to fucking pull out of the lane, pass him, cut RIGHT in front of him and throw rocks back at him. He switches lanes and pulls up besides me, him and his buddy just staring at me. I smile and wave, he decides to floor it. I do the same, and then let off the gas a bit to pull up alongside him. His buddy is looking over at me, so I wave at him, I put it to the floor, my turbo spools up and bam, next thing I know I'm doing 180km/h in an 80 and that mofucker was gone. I need to stop driving like this but people keep doing this shit and I just can't resist!!
I'm considering just throwing a worn out bbc and turbo 400 in it since it would be all mechanical and I already have the trans. By summer time if I haven't figured out what to do I might just throw some 4.10 gears in it and a new exhaust.

In a stock Volvo 745 from '92 :v:
What an idiot.
I am having some serious trouble finding an affordable car that has enough space for me to drive it. I'm fucking 200 cm tall, getting into an old Opel is haaaard.
officially decided that i'm officially officially deciding that my first car will be a stick (it's taking me fucking forever to get off my ass and get my license, i have had my permit for waaay too long) driving in a automatic is just way too boring for me, plus if i decide later on that i'm too lazy for stick then i just have that knowledge (also what are some really good stick tutorials, i need some touching up) oh and how accurate is this? (considering yahoo answers is fucking stupid, i'm not taking it very seriously)
to an extent, he's right. manuals haven't changed since they're simple ... are they obsolete? maybe to the common consumer.
I find driving automatic cars is very very boring.
what do you drive again?
Just my little 1.8T A4. She's actually surprisingly fast, and Quattro is so damn tasty in the winter.
I find it rather hard to pay attention to driving an automatic since it's not very engaging. Whenever I drive one it will constantly shift due to the way I use the gas pedal, I'd like to consider myself unable to drive an automatic since I've spent less time driving them than I spent before I went for my drivers license anyways but from my perspective I'm still a better driver than at least half the people on the road driving automagics..
Just been doing some math, I've recently driven to York and back which is about 142 miles in total, and I only used quarter of a 44 liter tank of petrol, so 11 liters, we'll say 12 to be safe. So that means I got around 52MPG doing 70mph all the way.
officially decided that i'm officially officially deciding that my first car will be a stick
kinda wish I had that choice, but a car with 40,000 miles is going to last me a very long time sadly
I find it strange people even have to make that decision to get a manual license. :v: In the UK it's just a given that 9 times out of 10 your first car will be a manual. It's not even the slightest bit difficult.
manual.. license?
welcome to facist government country
manual.. license?
In Norway, you can take your driving test in an auto but then your license is restricted to autos only but if you take it in a manual you can drive any type you want.
Today was a beautiful day! It was a nice 30*F with sleet! (or 2 inches of rain after melted) Every single person I followed going to school this morning fishtailed. Its amazing seeing RWD vehicles spinning out on a bridge and cant climb a hill. *Chuggs up the hill like its nothing*
I finally drove for the first time yesterday after having my permit for a few months but not using it. I don't know how well I did because I haven't seen anyone else drive for the first time, but I was able to turn a lot better than I expected, I'm still getting used to the turn radius when parking though. How normal is it for the accelerator to be very sensitive in cars? I'm practicing in a little Land Rover and I was pretty surprised when I lightly touched the pedal but still shot forwards pretty quickly. Maybe I just have a lead foot but I wish it could take more pressure before going.

My mom's SUV takes a lot more pressure on the gas before it starts trucking but my Jetta has a clear point where it starts actually accelerating (it feels like I floor it but really I'm slowly increasing pressure and it starts to go).

soooo, today could've went better. I was installing the coilovers, front went in with no problem, but when I was working on the rear the pain in the ass bushing/bolt froze up, so I had to remove the entire assembly (shock/coil, LCA) sawzaw the bolt and bring it to my neighbor who is a mechanic to press the bushing out. it just turns out I have the wrong bushings for the LCA(they're for an integra) so I have to trim the bushing and fit it in. after that it should be pretty easy I still have to go to the stealer ship to get the two bolts I cut out. My question is, do I have to get the new bushings pressed? they're energy suspension and I don't know because my car is at a friends.

Nice try.

The truck is super powerful and not sluggish, you just can feel the extra force to push the heavy pedal down. In my BMW, you hover your foot over the pedal and it takes off before you even push it down. Of course that is an exaggeration, but not by much....
Well fuck guys. Im not sure of what to do. I got let go from my job today. I was there on the days I was supposed to be, I stayed late when needed, and I worked as hard as I could work. He said It was due to lack of attendance and lack of effort, when I haven't missed a day in months and I've been having back pains due to moving a a sheer amount of hospital beds. Im not sure where in the area will hire me. I guess I just got to go out and apply anywhere and everywhere I can right? I hope this doesn't take long, the Cobra is almost done, and things were just starting to work out :/ Sorry for the rant, I had to post it somewhere.
Thought the Jetta was your grandma's. Nice try.
It'll be mine if I pass the test in 33 days (and assuming the first thing I do isn't drive into a fucking telephone pole, which is really fucking tempting right now) [editline]14th January 2013[/editline] aaaand I'm now banned from driving my mom's car until I can "learn to put her keys back together" basically she has a bunch of plastic fucking membership cards at the end of the keys and they constantly smack my leg while driving (distraction..) so I uncouple them and sometimes forget to put them back together. God forbid I don't want my leg constantly bashed every time I move from the gas to the brake or turn the vehicle (and momentarily take my attention from the road).
heh you sound like me, I get distracted by EVERY SINGLE SOUND or vibration or really anything while driving. Do not buy a subaru.
heh you sound like me, I get distracted by EVERY SINGLE SOUND or vibration or really anything while driving. Do not buy a subaru.
I like to not be distracted when I've almost been hit head on twice in a month
I do that too. My mom doesn't understand why I hate all the fucking keys hanging yet she doesn't notice that it hits my leg and it's incredibly irritating.
