I think I'm done helping my so called "friends"
This dude I've met in highschool recently moved close by. He has a 240SX like me so I've been helping him fix this damned thing. He's at his third engine now and working on it in his friend's house he's been crashing at. Loaning him tools and even giving him my spare MAF air box.
Its ok for me to help out a fellow auto enthusiast and a 240 bro at that, but they don't even seem to care. It's like they take take take. His friend and he are both unemployed so I felt bad and felt the need to give to them. His friend is just a constant turd towards me since the day I turned down his help to fix my BHG.
I don't even care anymore; I'm tired of assholes who can't even recognize genuine help and spit at your face. Not once have they said thank you anyway
Yeah, don't feel alone man. The Honda community is just as bad, I've loaned out thousands of dollars to "friends" out of kindness only to be brushed off and treated like shit. I've learned from experience that a general rule of thumb is never to give anything you not do absolutely without.
Life has turned me into a bitter cynic which I've tried to resist numerous times but nothing can really work. If it makes you happy to help someone out then you should by all means do it but never regret it as you should realize that it's only you which they actually lose. Fuck 'em, you've got better things to be doing than wasting your time with scum and eventually it'll all pay off better without them somehow.

THEY'LL RAPE YOU................IN THE BUTT!!!!!!!111
Good news and bad news today. Bad news, my trucks trans fluid is old enough to where dropping the pan and changing filter/fluid would cause a lot of problems. Good news is nothing is wrong at the moment but I pretty much have to keep driving till something does happen to it.
6.8 seems a bit high, i but it does have pretty low miles, fog lights and (i don't like them but that's just me) alloys. Is it an EX or LX?
[t]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/5223/dsc0607da.jpg[/t]
I got mine for 3.5k from my aunt (a great deal), but it is an LX (no vtack), had 114k miles (now at 125.8k), but is also a 5 speed and i absolutely love it.
It's not really a fast car, but as a 5-speed the gearing is quite short and 'peppy'. The EX can do 0-60 in ~8 seconds and the LX ~8.5-9.

For the 6.8k though, you could get something cooler.
what do you suggest? (manual, 7k max, i'd prefer around 5k~)

Clean off the top of your cars when it snows god dammit
Good automotive related books?
in depth how to repair/how they work carburetors?
automotive history?
racing history book?
Anyone know of any good books pertaining to those?
Today we have a dusting of snow on the roads, and everyone suddenly thinks that they instantly have no traction now.
ITS LESS THAN AN INCH OF SNOW.
When it's icy I like to go to a deserted car park and practice handling and getting used to how the ABS feels and such. Honestly I think everyone would benefit from purposefully loosing control of their vehicle in controlled circumstances, you learn a lot about how the car behaves.
The police should coordinate sessions to teach this sort of stuff.
Definitely not handbrake turns ... :p
it's called defensive driving
It's called getting a auto civic sideways on dirt roads w/o ebrake, phaggot.
70 days left until I get my license
in depth how to repair/how they work carburetors?
The gas and air goes in the thing and makes the brap brap.
I rebuilt the Ferd's carb with Tegbro, so I kinda know how they work now (or at least, I know how to take them apart and replace many of the major parts).
they aren't too hard to rebuild. Especially Holley carbs.

Welp I fell bad for you.
I hate it when people re-arrange the garage and I cant find the spare brake part that I need NOW
I worked something out though
Haha Thats pretty neat for Frank Zamboni's Birthday. I may be biased, but I think a Zamboni is better than an Olympia Machine any day.

I don't really agree with DP's "Audi parts are expensive" argument: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Speed-Manual-Transmission-B6-Audi-A4-2002-2008-60K-/121051503285?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2f3b5ab5&vxp=mtr

sigh.
Sadly I'm not in the mood to dig around and post prices on shit.
Just look up "Cold Start Injector, ABS, Sline Seats, Mirrors, side skirts (allroad), pacific Sline transmissions and rear diffs, replacement turbos for the 2.7T.
Only thing I have looked up and thought "Oh that's a decent price." was on a trucking thermostat.
And my point is yes Audi shit is expensive when you can find a replacement Ford part that will fit and work exactly the same for 1/2 the cost.

You don't know how ebay works, do you? Nobody hard bids on anything until under 24 hours left. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see what it goes for though! Very interesting auction.

People today spun out on less than 1" of snow. Hell, there wasnt even enough snow to cover the roads and people still spun out.
