Seriously cool though
Wow, My insurance this year has dropped from £1,800 to £800. Just due to a years no claims and having my license 1 year more. Amazing.
Mines went from £2,000 last year for a 1.2 to £1000 this year for a 1.6. Just with 1 years no claims.
Anyone know of a good VIN lookup service that is absolutely free? Because of my connections at the DMV I can get a history report printed direct from Oklahoma DMV for $1 but I have to wait until tomorrow and I'm very bored.

Holy fuck, called my stealership today to ask prices for a Special Ed. front air dam, and they're now 521.40$, how in the hell is a little plastic bit worth that much.
Guess I'll skip. Sad.
I need a headset.
Back when I was poor and didn't want to buy a headset, I bought a 6' female to male 3.5mm audio cable for $.50 and an external mic for $2.50. Heatshrunk tubed the cables together and taped/ziptied the mic to a pair of headphones. It was awesome, less than $5 and I had a headset with a detachable mic.

That's for 97-03, the one I want to put an air dam up front is my 2004 Comp-G, the only aftermarket one is the Inferno one, and I'm not too fond of its look / requires more work to make fit than the SE one whom just clip on.

I have a microphone, but I use my computer at my parents' house and I'd like to have a headset to use with the audio ports on my spare computer here rather than drag my recording mic from my place to use it.
I could probably get a $5 headset on ebay. I might order one tomorrow. I'll let you guys know.

its cost so much because your car is no longer in production. sadly. I miss pontiac sometimes.
its cost so much because your car is no longer in production. sadly. I miss pontiac sometimes.
It was still costing a lot when production was still going, but the price raised when people realized they could order the part at the dealer. They used to be even as low as 127$ back in the days. Now that guys like me buy these GTP and wants the GT SE valance, the price skyrocketed.
The rest of the parts are pretty fucking cheap so I am happy with my W cars and 3800's.

5000 to 1800 here, no change except the new EU thing :v:
Today, a group of adventurous jiffy lubers learned that: used fuel filter + compressed air + lighter = homemade flamethrower.
Holy shit was the flame huge. Lighter + can of hairspray is a child's toy compared to this

Do you wear glasses with thick black rims? :>
No, but after a long night I usually purchase some cheap sunglasses.
It'd be cool if I could make a VIP car like Sobek's.
Where did you get all your VIP swag?
[editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
Probably a Merc though, if my dad will allow it.
Should I stay away from AMG due to $$$?
[editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
What i'm looking for is a good source of aftermarket stuff for Mercedes or just Euro cars.
Stay away from AMG if you want a VIP car, tbh. AMG is usually more sporty than VIP. If you want to be VIP with a Merc, get yourself an S-class Mercedes, the W126 model or W140 model (preferably the W126). Shit's expensive if it breaks, so if you want parts, see if you can get them off Ebay and such. They come a lot cheaper. The W126 was driven in embassies, for prime-ministers and that kind of stuff, puts it into perspective to what sort of VIP car you're looking at with the W126. They come with different engine variations, I own a 280 SE with a 2.8l straight six (W108 though), which generation was still in production all the way up to the end of the W126 (though a different kind of 2.8l). You can go all the way up to huge V8's, and if you get the W140, V12's, however they are usually expensive as damn and the Merc V12 isn't the most reliable out there. They live forever if you get a straight six / V8 and are quality quality quality. They come relatively cheap, but hilariously cheap Mercedes will be a lot more expensive in the long run. Also, you can buy it with a phone and all tons of gadgetery.

W126 S-Class, this one
[t]http://data.motor-talk.de/data/galleries/0/78/9965/14421798/w126-ansicht-seitlich-14277.JPG[/t]
If you want something newer, there's the 1997-2005 S-Class, however that's expensive and still new by S-Class standards. IMO, the W126 feels a bit more special than the 1997-2005 S-Class model.
