We're tearing a 2.8 from some kids turdgen camaro down in class, intake mani being part of the heads.. what the fuck?
Got an estimate on the damage to the vehicle from being rear-ended. $1k [editline]6th February 2013[/editline] we're probably just going to take the money since the car is 12 years old, and is worth only $5k
I'm done stripping the GTO. As in fed up. Everything is fused together and I don't have the tools or the space to get anything done. If my stepdad doesn't want to scrap this car then he better hire a shop to strip and blast everything. I'll put it back together, but I'm done wrenching away for hours accomplishing nothing. Not to mention, I was just under it and I looked up and a black widow was hanging three inches from my face.

I was taking out the tail light, look down, fucking HUGE spider just chillin on the light, maybe the size of a 1cyl briggs engine piston, I literally dropped the light and walked away, came back with some balls and stomped on it :v:

He gets to live another day.

Most of the bolts that didn't come out I ended up breaking off, drilling out, re-tapping... It's a lot of work restoring a rusty old car. That's part of it, mang.

I don't care how ugly the paint is or how empty and un-leathered the interior is. I don't care if it has "open the damn windows" for air conditioning. I want it for the pure joy of driving it, for the sound and the feeling. I don't care if the rattling and jarring engine sound keep anyone else from getting in it. I don't give a fuck if I have to look like an idiot driving to school wearing a helmet in the winter and fall. It is going to live for that moment when I can go WOT down the road 1st through 3rd. Even if that is only once a year at VIR.
I don't have the space or tools to do any of that.
And you think I do? I don't have a shop anymore. Everything I do is in my yard, in the dirt and grass just swinging wrenches around.
And you think I do? I don't have a shop anymore. Everything I do is in my yard, in the dirt and grass just swinging wrenches around.
Honestly, this would be a lot easier to do if I had open space to work in. I don't have the room to move a wrench. I'd rather be doing this out in my yard if I could.
I wish I had a lift and a toolbox filling amount of tools (and a toolbox) and fuel for my dads heater he said i could borrow and beer and a floor and an affordable parts truck and beer.
That is why I've more or less given up on asking the people in here for advice. I say I want a ~$20k car for work and they suggest a Challenger R/T.
Lol you're full of shit. If you bother to pay attention, most of the Auto Addicts in here wrench on their own car and have no money for repairs. I said a G35 because they go as low as $3-5000 dollars around here. Features a nice engine as well as rear-wheel drive configuration. He's choosing a brand new Maxima that would cost WAY more than a used G35 Infiniti with repairs because it is a newer vehicle. He mentioned having a preference for RWD so it seems like a nice car because he mentioned Nissan.
Way more expensive than a Maxima.
. A G35 Skyline for you. I'm not talking about an R35 GTR Skyline
You must live in the only area I've ever heard of G35s going for under 8k (in "okay" condition). The Maxima is way cheaper than a G35.
Well, talked to Bradley; it really does vary by state and availability. Koenig did mention so many times RWD stuff. Around here you can score a G35 for $5K if you really wanted one. Lots of funds to be allocated towards a "normal" car though imo. Don't take it personally, to me, itd be nice to start with a good platform then move up with upgrades. Makes no sense when for the same price you can get something "sporty" and reliable. When you have no funds and you squeeze every penny out of a car, $5K+ is excessive for a car you will beat it on everyday; might as well be funner imo
If I recall you only found a G35 in your area for 7k and I found tons of 5th gen Maximas (2000-2003, with the VQ30DE, and the best/cheapest gen with the VQ) for under $3500. You compared the G35 to maximas of the same year range, which is silly. Stop defending your choice of car, it's more expensive than a basic VQ30DE Maxima and that's that.

But its Koenig's choice. I'm just saying, you can get one if you want. (Well around my area anyway) Maxima would be OK if you're just DD. I'd DD the crap out of a RWD but that's just me. That's all I'm saying
You do realize the first one has been wrecked, the second one has a blown engine, and the third one has a salvage title, right? I'd hardly consider any of them if I was going to buy something nice. And you could still get a Maxima in your area for less than a G35 (and from the looks of it, in MUCH better shape too!). Regardless, he asked for opinions on one car and you told him to get something else and won't get off it after being told it's more expensive than what he originally asked about. There's no point this should go on any further -- If you don't like the Maxima so be it, but "buy a G35" isn't a good answer when someone asks what people think about a specific car.

Are front yards illegal in Chicago or something?

Has anyone here bought Automation?
Has anyone here bought Automation?
yes and I love it
Has anyone here bought Automation?
ye, it's pretty awesome, though I don't play with it much because it gets kinda boring building engines for no purpose.
I've been playing the demo for a bit. Thinking of buying it some day. Anyhow, while I gather money for it, could any of you lend me an account so I can try building v8s?
id like to try the full version. and at risk of the rulez I would not encourage anybody to upload a full version of this and post a link here at all...
