3100 already had gasket replaced and hosings and we still have a small leak that was patched up pending a major expense in the future.
3100 and mechanics of cooling is like fire and ice
Yeah I've kinda shyed away from the Veloster since that post. Was an alright car, but only driving it 10 miles and I could feel my sweat starting to stick to me, even with cloth seats. I imagine longer drives could be uncomfortable.
The Dart in the photo was a 1.4 turbo, but it looks like it's been sold. I'd probably be going with an N/A motor. I want to drive a 2.0 N/A with a stick, but nobody around here seems to have one. Mazda3 is the front runner right now. I felt really in tune with the clutch. Before I even left the parking lot I had a strong understanding of the pressure points on the pedal and the shift range and shifter position.
You don't want the subaru?
Have you even looked into the subaru (impreza)?
It would be best choice.
Why not subaru?

My mom has a '12 Impreza. Seats are terrible. They're just flat slabs.

El Tigre?
So I accidentally drove onto an ice rink last night...
RWD CVPI + Pure Ice = Nothing good.
Needless to say, I left my mark on the ice.

I don't like to have a car I can't fit in the back seat. The volester I need to chop off my head to fit back there.
I stopped by dodge yesterday and looked at the dart.
I vote 1.4 aero or any 1.4 if u get one of those. That torque curve and gas milage would make up the difference.
But I do like my 3. Have been on a couple ten hour each way road trips in it.
I like the way it is geared I usually shift 2.25-3k rpms.
Right now my state has a 7500 tax credit for any e85/ flex fuel / hybrid. Makes me wish I would of bought one.
Talking n/a I have drove several cruzes both auto and manual. With the little turbo motor and u could nearly tell it was turbo. A slight boost in power at 2k rpm and no turbo noise. But could run on 87. Seems the dart 1.4 requires 91 octane.
Have you also checked out the focus? I marked it off my list cause it only got 36 highway in the trim i wanted. Manual hatch. That was the other car on my non hybrid list ( well fiat 500 was too)
I need it to warm up here in Michigan. All thats left for me to do is put my trans in, put a new fuel line on, and wrap up all the small stuff (Exhaust, Coolant hoses, wiring) and the car will be running agian. Fuck you Michigan, why u so cold.
Well it turns out I was sent the wrong set of spark plugs.
Thank you American Muscle. -_-
So I retrieved the police report of my accident on my lunch break today. The other driver is trying to not admit fault (saying he had a green) as the insurance has yet to receive a copy of the report, but directly on the report it says:
"P-1 caused this collision by violating vehicle code section 21453(a) Red Light."
Damn straight, bitch. I'm going to sue his pants off for trying to weasel out of this. He's going to be paying for my hospital bills, my missed pay from work, and probably a hefty cash settlement. Ordinarily this is far from my style, but if you're going to blatantly lie after blowing up my spleen, you better expect some flak.

The Focus SE hatch was the second car I drove. I ended up dropping it in favor of the 3, because the more I looked at the body work, the uglier it got to me.
The Veloster, I bumped my head getting in the first time, but the room back there was alright. Pretty much the same as my buddy's Genesis coupe. Getting out wasn't a problem, and getting in the second time was easy, since I knew I needed to duck.
El Tigre?
How'd you know? Yes, El Tigre EXT 530 from 1989. Cost me $80 to replace that belt.
I had more bad luck today! When driving home from being out pretty much all day I jumped on a small knoll, landed, and snapped off the rear balata belt (I think that's what it's called, it limits the suspension travel) and had to drive very very slowly home with the track going BRRRR and the whole snowmobile vibrating like crazy. I guess the track was catching on some plastic.
Oh, it also overheated twice on the way home since the radiator is under the seat and relies on the track shooting snow onto it, which it didn't do, because I was driving so slowly. I'm knackered and I'm heading for bed with a cup of tea now.
guess who's getting money for coilovers (aka tax return)
meeeeeee
My $1300 tax return came in yesterday. Put it in the savings account for the car. I've now got 25% of the MSRP for that car in the bank
Getting $300 from the state, too. But that is going to new stocks for a couple rifles.

thanks california, you paid me enough money to file the return itself.

Sounds like an eventful day.. To my knowledge, that was the only Kitty with the 530, but even if not the 3 louvers on the pan gave it away :V. And 80$ isn't too bad, My '05 660 Turbo's belt is only $75, but they changed the Driven Clutch for the 06 model, so the belt for our '06 660 is $105.

Did your parents claim you as a dependent? That's why. You should have seen much more being a young, single male. My tax return was $1600, for perspective.

Yes, because i'm 19 and live with them.
Sighs, making just enough to pay for phone, insurance, and gas.
technically most states once the child turns 18 the deductibles are negligible to even claim. Just cause you live with them doesn't make you dependable on them.

Dude sounds baked. Jokes on him, though. That bird is scratching the shit out of his paint.

The 60-degree V6 is shit. You can't argue with that. Even GM knows it.
That's the only thing I'm trying to say here. I love GM. I have GM products. If I have something domestic I have a GM. I don't hate them at all.

The 2.2 Ecotec is a soft spot for me. I think it looks cool, like a 90s Jap lump. And aside from a few headgasket issues I've seen, they seem solid. Pretty much what Ridge said.
I wasn't all that serious with the hate comment, I said I agreed with you.

Awesome, I owe $500 on my taxes....
Got some light scratches on my dashboard, is there anything that can be done about them? I've read about using a hairdryer and warming the scratched area up and just applying pressure with your fingers to get rid of the scratch. Anyone had any experience with this?
Also, chip in my windscreen again! :( Insurance doesn't cover it either.

Exactly. Even if you live with them, they CHOOSE to claim you on their taxes because they get tax cuts and credits for it. You should ask them for a cut of their tax return, seeing as if you were to file and claim you are not claimed as a dependent, they would be several thousand dollars in debt.
Sure hope I don't need to be anywhere this weekend.
I forgot to turn off the CB in the car two days ago and came out to a very dead battery. :suicide:
Buy a 50$ battery charger and never worry about it again.
Alternatively, put the CB on a circuit that only activates when the key is turned.
Everything is analog on them, so there shouldn't be any settings needing to be adjusted.
