while working, a bus hit a deer. the deer was killed and the driver wanted to claim (tag) it. he had a valid drivers license, so I wrote him a dnr deer tag.
he's lucky. I wish I could've claimed it.

Mom's been talking about her van needing a new upper ball joint, it's starting to jerk a bit and it makes a "bump"-noise when she goes over a bump. And she said she has to go to this special garage about an hour away, because these other ones don't have the tools for the job. Does this sound crazy, or?
welp
dad bought a replacement CV axle for a manual transmission 1.8T
how do we know? because about an hour into the replacement operation, the mechanic called us and said it wouldn't fit
only reason I took it to the shop to begin with was because we don't have a lift and there was a bolt that was nigh impossible to get off with the tiny amount of space for a breaker bar that our jackstands provided
lovely! now I get to drive the truck around (nissan frontier VG33E) for a while.
[editline]9th February 2013[/editline]
should've bought my own shit to begin with, not only so I can have myself to blame, but also so I can blame someone without them saying "WELL WHATEVER. I'M DONE, IT'S NOT MY FAULT" when they realize they've fucked up

Sent David Pozzi of Pozzi Racing an email for some advice on building a psuedo-Trans Am car out of the GTO after seeing his wife's '71 Camaro. That car is beautiful and is exactly what I want to make this GTO into.

Yeah, obviously. I can't get shortened links from YT anymore from this fucked up layout and the regular links don't work.
Fixed.
FUCK I edited the post and it deleted itself.
Neighbor came over pounding on our back door. Walk out to it, immediately noticed fire trucks at our shop. Asked what the hell was going on, he replied "Your shop is on fire."

Whole shop is covered in black shit.
Tools and shit are fine, but my plane was not so lucky due to the heat of the fire.

what's the cause of the initial ignition
what's the cause of the initial ignition
I wish to know too. the looks of it makes it looks like something liquid was ignited (see the wall char to the left)
Jesus, I'm sick of dumb drivers.
Yesterday;
Coming up to a traffic light, it turned green a while ago. Cars are speeding up, there's two in front of me. One in front is a semi, starts pulling away fairly fast. The car in front of me just sorta idles, barely picking up speed as the truck keeps going further and further away. The semi had to have been a good 50+ feet in front of him when I turned right at the light.
I round the corner, drive a little bit, pull into Rite-Aid. Start pulling into a parking space, a Blazer starts pulling out of their space on the opposite side while looking the other way. I honk and hit my brakes, they stop a couple feet from the side of my car. I pull in and they go.
Today, driver's were a bit better. Only one memorable issue. I was pulling up to a red light where one car was sitting. I started coasting, saw it turn green, the car probably sat at the green light for 4-5 seconds

Yet to know, the only thing plugged in at the time was the air compressor and it stays running 24/7.
Only thing I can think of is the shop vac (which was in the spot that the fire started) had something inside of it + wood chips and made a fire. Or the air compressor decided to shot flames out its ass and start a small fire.
We dunno. And Areolop the shop's counter was used for woodworking. There was clearcoat cans everywere.
Weirdest part about it is No one was in the shop for over 24hrs and what ever started the fire had to be the air compressor that caused it.
JR Detective aerolop should investigate!

I took a fire forensics/investigation class. that's it. I have no professional experience

DETECTIVE AEROLOP IS ON THE CASE!!!

[sp]I'm joking[/sp]
Shouldn't you always shut off air compressors when you aren't using them for hours at a time? Like everything else?
It says to do that on the little Air Compressor I use at work, only a 3 gallon 155PSI max compressor. It gets pretty hot if I use it too long without letting it just fill up. I gotta drain it all the time too.
Hektik 1am drive home race, chose the better path and got to base 30 seconds ahead of my friend
Rock chip repair isn't some ~insurance exclusive~ thing, you know. You can pay to repair it too, shouldn't cost you more than 15-30 dollars
Cheapest I've found is £40. I was even quoted £150 by AA! Last year I got a whole new windscreen for £150.
