Since you americans don't get to see the land of the volvo tuners as often as we do.
Here's an example of what happens from time to time, it's currently for sale too.

Custom Volvo 242 with a 350. (Not currently in it though.)
A part of me loathes it, and a part of me wants it more than anything.
But that looks terrible.

You're wrong, that's a 262c :v:
Anyway, there is a following over here, trust me.
I know one or two people with bigass turbos, ive seen a few with 5.0 engines.
The community over here is mostly into 850/s70's though.

My next project will be the same thing except ill be using a Datsun 280z with a turboed L28.
Hoping for something like this, but with more dents and rust. (well less but you know, you can't have everything)

Turbo brick? (Derp)
getting closer to my driving test......
Can anyone recommend some racing/bucket seats that are comfortable, yet hold you in place well?
Recaro, Corbeau, Sparco.
Don't waste your time on ebay seats, all of the ones I have experience with either fall apart, or are a huge safety hazard due to weak supports/mounts.

Hmm, how about Procar? JEGS doesn't stock any of the manufacturers that I would normally go straight to.
Procar seems to be good, I was looking at their seats for the Cobra. I want Corbeaus or Cobras but they are too expensive for me.
[editline]13th February 2013[/editline]
something like these?

I need something that is compatible with a 5-point harness.
Trash guy left this for me yesterday.

A car meet can't happen soon enough.
Couldn't you put the 5 point through the top of the seat just like how some people mount them on their new 2013 GT's with factory recaros?

Hah, that's pretty neat, I see you registered too. It seems like a semi popular site too
Would it be wrong to put a racing seat on the driver side and a comfy, leather, heated seat on the passenger side?
Noone else in my family could possibly physically endure sitting in a bucket seat and my boyfriend is spoiled by his Lincoln's comfort. I'd like to be able to drive him around once in awhile though.

Would just look really weird and stupid. Would really pull the look of everything away making it like a patchwork that looks like you just threw shit at it for no reason. I mean, you clearly have a reason, but to everyone else it would be weird.
Pro-car seats are nice, if you want to use a racing seat on only one side make sure it at least matches the rest of the interior.

Some racing buckets arent all that uncomfortable while others are just metal with cloth over them, try to get one that actually has SOME padding, just so people can take a ride in a fast car without destroying their back but you can still have racing seats.

Well, my bf likes the idea, so I'm not apposed because of what others would think. Not like I couldn't get matching looks for the seats. I obviously wouldn't get the biggest, cushiest, black leather seat to go next to a tiny aluminum pan seat.
A lot of my friends keep the regular seats on the passenger side, with some fancy Recaro racing seats on the driver side.
They don't usually drive with the passenger seat in though.
Me, I have regular leather seats in my car. Because Audi. :)
Definitely ordering a pair of Recaro seats for my LSx E30 build though.

I don't think I want to use the stock seats though. Old, rusted, stretched spring 1970 "bucket" seats aren't all that.
Oh, well as long as they're roughly the same color, it shouldn't matter.
I'm currently looking for a semi-affordable bluetooth capable, quality head unit. How does this look?

Most of the stock Honda/Acura seats hold you in the seat really well and are comfy as hell, you can find sets of them in decent condition for $100. It also shouldn't be too hard to fab up the rails to mount to the floor. Most upholstery shops should also be fairly competent at being able to do a Honda seat so if you pick up a cheap set and don't like how they look it shouldn't be hard to find someone who can do a good job. There's actually some good looking premade upholstery that you can buy and put on yourself too.
I saw a thread a while back of an Integra done up with kinda a muscle/luxury car style leather seats.

There's also Endyn's Grand Sport which used some Integra seats then reupholstered them. The build of that car is pretty neat too.. http://www.theoldone.com/grandsport/article/grandsport.htm

You can also buy aftermarket seat warmers, they aren't really anything special.

oh my god
if you ever do this you need to let me know, I'd literally kill a man to drive it (I'm that one FLfag you talked to in the AA chat on steam once or twice about your cherry bomb volvo)
[editline]12th February 2013[/editline]
on the other hand I'd also kill a man if he touched my S30 (if I had one) so I understand if you're opposed to the idea
