Sister killed her car today. Areolop the man with 20ft Cables to the rescue... again. Trying to jump an 89 Lincoln is harder than the 88 Vic plus, it didnt have +/- markings on the battery. Had to play follow the ground

So my friend asked me to go pick up her friend from the airport sunday. Okay, just pay me some gas money and thats fine. OOOH wait, can you also chauffer her around all day and entertain her. uuuh no, i cant. I have a buddy coming over to work on my motorcycle. But cant she do that with you. I dont think she wants to sit there all day while I work on repairing a cracked fairing with a friend, its mechanic 3rd wheeling guilt trip ensues. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline] also, need to get the motorcycles tires mounted and change the brakes on my truck, they are getting wobbly again.
Brought the girl into the PD last night. Almost had a disaster. Never again - shes waiting in the car next time.

Hey guys I know you're very bias when it comes to manuals, but I've been looking at car (2002 mustang gt) that I was planning on buying that's a 5 speed manual (never driven manual before mind you). Since I live on a mountain with a shit ton of hills would a manual transmission be a bitch to use? I will be using the car to get to school which gets a lot of traffic.
would a manual transmission be a bitch to use?
no
DP, get this man the image
Roger that, releasing emergency content. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/Img%20Dump/dUgu5aTr.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/Img%20Dump/SuchEcR9.jpg[/t]

I have noticed that driving for 1 year with my own car I've learned to shift so that you can hardly notice the change Still having some problems rev matching when going from 3 to 2 while braking, 5->4->3 is easy though
I love having my motorcycle, the gears are so forgiving on it. That and I love the sequential pedal shift.

Also, isn't it standard on all batteries that positive (red) is on the left, negative (black) on the right?
Would bang, no doubt. Also, isn't it standard on all batteries that positive (red) is on the left, negative (black) on the right?
Nope. I always check which ones which whenever I jump start a car, for some stupid reason the terminal positions aren't universal for all batteries. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline] Fuck batteries that don't have properly labeled terminals, jumping those is kinda scary sometimes
Speaking of Batteries. I had the joy of helping a friend change the Battery in his VW Toureg. Largest Car battery I've ever seen and under the driver seat. Least the second battery in the trunk is easy to get to. Apparently this is a common battery that's used for bobcat loaders. The other battery is for a FOrd Taurus. Yea... Hell bro Its a fucking v10 Diesel. I would imagine it WOULD have a fuck huge batt. (If your friends car is not the TDI please ignore this message.)
I love cars with non-standard part locations (i.e oil dipstick and oil filler located under drivers seat, washer fluid under driver's floormat, oil dipstick and filler behind license plate, etc.)
Are you in DFW area?
Yes I am.
>driving 50 in 45 with guy on my ass >guy gets in other lane in his slowbalt base model to pass me >ohkay.jpg >put in 2nd gear >fuck this is a B16A tranny >bounce off limiter for a sec >put back if fifth >make this face
Did this once with my GSR tranny a little while after I got it, downshifted down a gear and hit about 7850ish. :\ It's kinda nice not having to drop a 2 or more gears just to pass people though lol.

I dont even know why it has the second battery anyways, eveything i've read said only the TDIs come with it. I lol at prices for him getting shit fixed. VW and Audi are nice, but fuckin eh on prices.
Anyone ever heard about someone successfully fighting a HOV violation? Normally I'd pay the ticket, but I live in California and they have a tendency to shift the budgeting crisis onto their taxpayer, so I'm looking at around $500 for my first traffic offense by driving in a HOV lane. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline] Sorta ridiculous that I'd have to pay way more than how much someone would pay for a stop-sign, red-light or a speeding violation which poses a greater risk than a HOV violation.
How dare you not drive a Prius. Also, http://jalopnik.com/the-zero-fucks-rx7-is-for-sale-223648241 Edit: That looks like a lot of fun
Assuming everything goes to plan, I should be getting insured on the Cavalier next week. Now I need to find a summer job so I can afford to fix it up a little and stick in a new stereo with bluetooth. From some googling, it doesn't look like GM made it easy. I'd have to get some $50 box to retain the chimes and remove two large sections of the dash.
Jesus, Singer 911's are gorgeous.

This is going to be used for all the automotive "greentext" story in here. thank you bradly

[editline]16th February 2013[/editline] What is your opinion on K&N Filters, I keep looking around and people swear by them but then seeing people actually test a cone filter vs a standard airbox see no difference.
I called up American Muscle and told them about my spark plugs, I sent them a picture of the ones I got from them and the one I pulled from my engine. It turns out that my heads are either GT-40 or 93' Cobra heads. Not only that but they refunded me the what I paid for the NGK platinum plugs, told me to keep them and sent me a free set of NGK Iridium plugs free! =D
