I don't
From now on, whenever anyone criticizes my choice in cars, I shall show them this video.
Sorry but you aren't missing out on much Turbo 300ZXs are awful. They look cool but the VG30 is probably one of the worst (if not THE worst) Nissan engine you can have in RWD format. If you want a turbo Z, get a 280ZX turbo. Or get a 300ZX shell and put something other than that godawful excuse of an engine in it.
It's in really good condition, I'm not looking to make some race car or anything, just a nice cruiser. My friend has a modded z31 and its fucking awesome. They may not be the best but the looks are my favorite. I don't have time for a full on swap project, and I have a DD right now, I just really want to pick this car up, the Z's are starting to die out and this car is a nice collector [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] I have another friend with a Z32 who is currently doing a LS1 swap, but there are literally no z32 in my area, I'd rather have a z32
No hate on the car, TERRIBLE ENGINE though. That's my point. What I'm saying is GET ONE but don't get one with the original VG30 because you won't get much fun out of it.
Fun is subjective, but what kind of swaps are even possible with a z31? Like I said I'm not trying to make a drag car or anything, just a nice car to cruise in. Only thing to drive around on in my area is lonngggggg straight roads [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] Calling the guy for the Z31 tomorrow, I called my father and he said I could borrow his truck and trailer if I go through with it.

I always feel like my engine is going to blow when I'm merging onto a highway and it's at 3500 RPM in 3rd and the slushbox is slow to shift to 4th. ugghghh
8 hours and 210 miles later.. A rough mapping on where I drive during a shift, answer: Everywhere.
http://lancaster.craigslist.org/cto/3623682290.html I want it. Why do I love late 70s/early 80s boxes so much? ;_;
Why is it so cheap? All the cheap cars around me all look like someone took out a fence, or someone dumped paint thinner on it. :(
Because nobody wants it. It has 85 horsepower, gets 17mpg, and isn't a [del]penis enhancer[/del] Mustang.
Weeeell, that's probably why. Jesus that's pretty awful. 3.3L and that's all they could manage?

I'm implying the god damn VG30 is a boat anchor. It's big and RWD. Pretty much anything that bolts to a RWD gearbox drops right in. About the easiest way to go is a KA24 since the tranny is close to the same so mounting it wouldn't be difficult. But those aren't much better than the VG30... L28E/L28ET out of the 280ZX is a great choice too. But ANYTHING will drop in with a little bit of effort. Small block Chevy V8, Chevy 4.3 V6, small block Ford V8, any Nissan RWD engine with the correct tranny + harness, 1JZ/2JZ platform, SR20DET, CA18DET, Z20/Z24 out of the pickups (easy swap there, too, since I'm fairly sure the transmission on the VG30 share a pattern with the KA24 and Z20/Z24 blocks perhaps? Might only be the truck transmissions though), 1UZ-FE, Nissan's VH V8 engine... If you buy a 300ZX, buy one as a swap project or with a swap done. If you don't want to work on it, don't get one, because if you didn't know already they're a bit finicky and those unhandy with a wrench won't get along with the Z chassis at all. But generally, they're just terrible cars stock. You'll be utterly disappointed, entirely due to the unreliable, underpowered, and overhyped box of dynamite and Elmer's glue under the hood.
A 4.3 would be kinda cool, go with a turbo, and call it a Tsunami.
deliverin' zas ?
Cop.
Cop.
That's rad as fuck. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] Who'd you meet by the lake?

I like your taste in cars. Also, wow, 85 hp from a 3.3 I6? That would be interesting to drive, to say the least. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] Nevermind I looked it up. It uses the 200 cu thriftpower i6, and it makes 105 hp.
What do you guys think about the corolla AE86 GTS/ hachi roku? Is 3900 an ok price for a super clean one? I was going to offer the guy 3200 because that's all i have lol. I've heard the 4age is a bit underpowered, do people ever boost them?
That's rad as fuck. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] Who'd you meet by the lake?
The map isnt really correct as it only pings once every x minutes..
