Keep it under your parents name until your ready for a OHMYGAWD WTFBBQ
Also you cant even sign a legal document until your 18, therefor cant transfer a vehicle into your name. (Texas)
[editline]fdikgn[/editline] Unless your talking about Co-Signing it... Then that would just be pointless IMO and a waste of money.

Trust me, from personal experience, don't.
Seriously, don't.
Well, unless you've got money to burn, anyway.

This poor cop is taking donations
Getting my license back from the DMV finally after 60 days of not being able to drive this thursday. As of this friday I'll have 800 total so far towards a truck, and thats without my tax returns and my further saving. It looks like another month or so of saving and I'll have enough for a Chevy possibly.
Speaking of money, I am going to jump into a lake this Saturday to raise money for the special Olympics, and I was hoping that maybe you guys could throw any money into it.
Its called The Polar Plunge and its mostly ran by cops to raise money. Any amount is acceptable. I realize that most of you are tight on money, but this is for a good cause. I am also willing to do something for you guys if you'll throw in some money (like a cop picture? tour of my work? The dead body story?)
Anyway, anything is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Your AA Cop, Areolop (Drake Malaske)

Insurance agent said the rate would be the same
Whatever vehicle I end up buying will be purchased in my name and be registered with my dad as the primary driver due to my two tickets. It shouldn't raise our insurance at all, and it might actually lower it since the suburban is a 7-9 passenger vehicle and it'll be going down to a 2-3 passenger vehicle.
I'm thankful as fuck that my dad is going to put the cavalier under his name and have me as an occasional driver. Friends have told me what they're paying for insurance and it's pretty bad.
Almost ended up with a camo painted Cavalier a few weeks ago. Thing was so pimp.

What's this about dead bodies? Naw, but my brother was in the local special Olympics a couple of times. I don't think they have those events anymore though. :\
Just noticed that new users can't join FP anymore.
Well, that's a shame. I was wondering why I haven't seen new accounts in ages.

My car was registered in my name when I bought it at 16, Oregon didn't seem to care. I don't know of anyone who that mommy and daddy didn't buy them a BMW/Brotruck didn't have their vehicle in their name lol..
Both my cars are registered on my name and insurance on my name. I don't want bullshit about parents legally owning my stuff if they're by their name, fuck that, my cars are my cars. / 303/yr for one, 1536/yr for the other.

First, thank you.
Second, if facepunch can raise $30, I'll give you the death story in enough detail that you could paint a picture of it. [Possible cringe worthy material]
I also have another story regarding a coworker and a foot chase that could've went better... to say the least.
Anyone watch fast n' loud?
That poor mustang :(
Kinda late, but all towing companies are fucking scum. Dad's truck got towed one day, his apartment complex has a contract with a towing company worthy of its own circle of hell. For every day he doesn't pick up his car, they'd charge him an additional 50-60 bucks. Not only that, but they were also forty minutes away in some maze of industrial buildings. We get there, and they also have some cash only no change thing going on.
Bring the trusty .44 to the scums. :eng101:
My cousin moved into an apartment complex, and the first night there his car got towed. Then the transmission blew up a week later. :v:
My mom got sideswiped in the parking lot where she works, she knows who did it too but he hasn't said anything to her about it. I just pointed it out to her today.
But, I always deliver, here is the first story:
It was a late august day, hot. High 70's - Impressive for Minnesota. I was working with one of my partners that day, and he nor I will never forget the events taht take place.
Shortly after arriving, we get called out to a found body. We cruise all way across town to go to it. Upon arrival, we are immediately confronted by 4 people crying uncontrollably. "Yup, this is bad" is the only thing I could think of. Myself and my partner hand the crying family off to another officer that was there, and we headed inside; putting on two pairs of gloves as we do so.
The house was a brown cottage like home, split into two residences. One on each of the two floors. The top floor was fine.
We walked into the house through the side garage door, took a sharp left into the kitchen, and then a sharp right down a flight of stairs. The stairs were lined with glass items on shelves on either side of the stairs. Once we get to the bottom, on the left was hanging clothes, and on the right was a washer and dryer. We proceed through this room into the second residence.
The second residence was smaller than the first. When you entered, on the left was an open kitchen. There was also a kitchen table with letters stacked high. The living room had a red couch in rough condition and everything smelt terrible. like death.
We were directed down a hall. On the right, a bathroom pained baby blue, and bedrooms on either side at the end. The right bedroom was closed.
The left was open.
We entered the left bedroom where we were immediately met by the body and the smells with it.
The room was dirty. Smelt like piss and shit (and now death) and it was HOT. I'm talking at least 80. On the bed laid the body; stiff, old, and smelly.
The medical examiner was already there. Thank god. If he wasnt there, we would've had to wait for him (aka 2 hours for arrival). He also had gloves on.
I got the unfortunate task of helping him since my partner was a pussy. He would later regret this.
I had to move this old man's stiff body; checking for lividity, and possible signs of misconduct - we found none. Checked his penis and scrotum for whatever the ME's reason was (gross). Everything still seemed ok.
Everything was ok. . . .Until we had to get fluid. Dead people dont have a pulse, so you cant draw blood. They overcome this by taking the fluid out of your eye and testing it just like blood.
Yup. We suck your eyeball clean of fluid.
I had never seen this before, so I asked if I could watch. He let me. Oh god why did he let me.
He took out his needle (its like 4" long), opened the eye lids, and carefully placed the needle under the lens, and into the eye. You can clearly see the needle in the eye from the pupil of this man.
THis is normally a 10s procedure, but this old man was stubborn. You know how when you see people playing with a syringe when they cover one end and you can make that popping noise due to the vacuum? Yea. It did that.
The ME FORCEFULLY removed this dude's fluid. The eye shrunk and the weirdest noise was made that is indescribable.
I have a tough stomach. I have a tough mind. This, topped it though. This was so bad that I blacked out.
I cant tell you much more other than that.
The man was 88 years old, got released by the hospital the night before, died of fluid around his heart. He drove a Chrysler 300 and lived independently.
I am forever reminded on this event because I drive by the scene daily.
I normally dont talk about this because its a big part of my life. A scary one at that.

DTV only records 2 shows at once, so I'm waiting till 8 to watch the new episode, otherwise, I love the show. Aaron is an amazing mechanic.
Well I guess I'm buying a new Model M. This one just got covered in puke from that story.
That is bullshit.
I believe that there was an accident, but no way in hell is that car totaled. Just replace the front right end and it looks like it would be good as new. Stupid reality show, I thought Richard and Aaron didn't do that stupid crap.

Just renewed my car insurance, went from £4,000 down to £745, fucking incredible.
What car have you got, and how old are you?
Insurance agent said the rate would be the same
Investigated this..
Me: I don't get how it doesn't make insurance go through the roof
Mom: She said to me "If he's going to be driving it, it should be in his name"
Me: ... and you got "it wouldn't cost more" from that..?
My driver side lock has gotten harder to unlock, manual door. Passenger side is easy so it's not the key. Also, if I turn it lock first then unlock, it opens a lot easier. Ideas?
