On a title transfer you're charged for mileage. That's why on older cars the "ODOMETER" area is marked "Exempt". It's not something tacked on every year when you pay for tags.

U wot m8 u having a pussy fit m8 u sound like e bloody screamin cunt ye
You need to just drive a car all by yourself. Don't be intimidated by other drivers/cars. Drive right and you'll be ok, doesn't mean everyone will though so be safe.
So I decided to play around with the 1-2-3 shifter gears on my car today and it's kinda fun, I just wish there was a clutch (and I didn't need it to be in third to reach 30mph without pushing 4k RPM...and that it was a '72 Beetle)

Wv titles must be different. I don't remember an exempt. Just milage and a box for beyond mechanical limits.
Will check that out Tuesday.
i still have no idea how a car with ABS and TCS feels like to drive. my car has neither
ABS is pretty nice, TCS just sucks ass. ABS is useful and has saved me many a times where as TCS if anything just tries to make you wreck.
I've had about 20 driving lessons now and I'm still shit. Not quite as bad as I was before but still feel like I'm not in control. I think driving may not be for me, all of the stuff that involves people being behind you just scares the shit out of me. If a van is behind me I'll almost always stall when trying to set off because it just makes me so damn nervous. Roundabouts are even worse, I get so scared of them (for reasons unknown) that I just stop and wait for my instructor to tell me what to do. Feeling like a right dick and I don't enjoy the experience at all - but my Mum insists that I keep at it.
I think the majority of my problems come from me just being generally frightened of whatever I do, and I hate it when other people are waiting on me - I end up either trying to rush or just full on panicking which then makes me fuck the job up completely. It's getting to the stage where I'll start worrying about my lesson two days before it, I'm thinking I should probably quit but I don't want to make my Mum angry.
Driving is pretty much 50% confidence and 50% experience, if you have neither you're going to have a hell of a time. You're gonna have to work on the confidence the most since without it you're not getting the experience. Just chill, think of all the complete idiots you've seen which have managed to get licensed. If you've managed to make it on the internet for a while you're probably much more intelligent than a good chunk of the drivers on the road. There's no reason you can't do it other than you're telling yourself you can't.
If you can't handle a manual, try an auto out, and you are just nervous, it will come to you eventually.
While I still haven't fully learned manual an no longer need to, I think that learning in an auto first was better. Getting the car moving around is only one part of driving, with an auto there's fewer things to worry about in the beginning. Once you get used to turning, moving around lanes, dealing with other cars, ect, those skills transfer just fine to the manual car.
Put $54 of fuel in my blazer this week.
I have never been above $43 in fuel before.
I filled my old suburban one day.
$105.
usually when fuel prices are as high as they are now I just keep putting $10 in it until it goes back down
Speaking of TC, I forgot to test what it's like to drive in snow in ice with it off. Hopefully we get a bit more before the end of winter so I can.
ABS&TC is crap

If I were to fill my 50L tank from empty to full it would take $110
For a while I was filling my truck up with $60-$80 a tank. Luckily I was able to make it last between paychecks, sometimes having to fill up the day before, or on my way home on payday.

So much want.
God damn, if I had gotten off my ass and fixed the Ford, I'd have enough money to fix the Cressida AND impulse buy this. :v:
That's actually kinda cool, but so, so so, so, so, ugly. :v:

around how much would it cost to get a full car paintjob done?
i can get it repainted at my high school at cost of materials, but not sure if i'd trust kids repainting my car (especially since they made a fucking mess of detailing my car, couldn't even see through the damn windows)
should i take it up to the polytech institute and see if their auto body classes wants a car to repaint or something
[editline]25th February 2013[/editline]
nevermind, the institute doesn't do full paintjobs, and they won't take cars older than 8 years

I kept waiting for the instant karma, but it never happened :(
If he wasn't talking like a 12 year old the entire time, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. The only reason any of us wouldn't do that is out of fear of getting caught.
Is it bad to drive in 5th gear at 30mph in a little 1.1? Am I being economical or just putting necessary strain on the engine?

Cant see how bad it can be, hardly the worst practice in the world! Take that with a pinch of salt though, I'm not as clue'd up on cars as you guys...
For what its worth I drive a '90 Nissan Micra 1.2, at 30 it feels bogged down in 4th yet in 3rd it constantly feels like I need to change up so I leave it in 3rd and hope for the best!
Is it bad to drive in 5th gear at 30mph in a little 1.1? Am I being economical or just putting necessary strain on the engine?
Does the car shake and whatnot? If it bounces around enough and you do it for long you can break the engine mounts.
Does the car shake and whatnot? If it bounces around enough and you do it for long you can break the engine mounts.
It's not properly juddery or anything, I dunno I just feel like I shouldn't be able to cruise round at city speeds in fifth in a 1.1 but I guess if it works
Is it bad to drive in 5th gear at 30mph in a little 1.1? Am I being economical or just putting necessary strain on the engine?
you'd be lugging the engine I think. Besides, mpgs don't solely rely on rpms. I have a real-time meter in my car and 35mph at 5th (~1800) and 35mph at 6th (1400) returns about the same mpg.
5th at 50kmh isn't very unusual
lugging the engine...
say hello to ovals cylinders
