Well, broke up with the girlfriend today, engine goes to the builder tomorrow, and then Milan Dragstrip from 6:00pm-1:00am... sounds goood.
I swear if I have to service another Subaru I am going to flip my shit
It's like the designers for the car purposely put everything in the worst places ever on purpose

I reckon aye
"I'm gonna remove these spark plugs! lol sorry remove all this other shit first."
Subaru's aren't too bad, it's just how slow you have to pour oil into the engine which makes me annoyed.
and the dipsticks
oh god the dipsticks
"you want to check the transmission fluid? don't worry, its only under a giant clusterfuck of hoses and wires"
And if you want to check the final drive, you pretty much have to juggle that shit in and out of the engine bay on some subarus

Torn between these two trucks, what do you guys think? The black one is an absolute base model, V6, manual windows, locks, and mirrors. One tire fire, brand new grille, needs a new headliner, bench seat, good KM's, paint is nice, good truck throughout just not a whole lot of cool options.
The other one has pretty much everything I want on it to begin with except sport mirrors and maybe a roll pan and box cover, this is what he says, very descriptive:
"Drivers*door will need to be replaced but the fender should be fine to repair. It*has a posi rear*(sort of rare 3.91 gears) but its*worn out. It*comes with a new posi/gearset/bearings/seals*for the rear, a new front bumper, a p/s pump, alternator, factory intake, cheapo headers, some spare lights*and a few other items I cant remember.*I found a list of stuff that I replaced while I was driving it.
Timing chain, water pump, plugs/wires/cap/rotor, steering box, tie rods, upper ball joints, pitman arm, fuel pump, windshield, headlights, front shocks/drop springs (2"), rear shocks/drop shackles(2"), Toyo Proxes st2 tires, front*slotted rotors/ceramic pads/wheel bearings*and a few other minor things."
And in another email
"I should be available on*saturday evening. Its currently located in spruce grove.*I dont have any*other pictures right now. It*was my daily driver until I parked it about 2 years ago. Engine never used any oil and trans shifted fine. I have not*looked at it in a while, but as I remember there are a few*door dings and minor scratches, but as far as rust there is very minor surface rust along the bottom of the body but no holes at all. The front bumper is badly rusted but I have a brand new one that comes with the truck.*The*drivers door is rusted on the inner bottom edge and it is starting to bubble a little on the right front wheel well. The interior is in great shape other than the headliner starting to peel a little. The tires are almost new. I put a lot of new*parts*in it to*keep it in good running order while I was driving it and have*a couple of*other parts*that never got installed."
I'm liking the SS/T more but my dad says that the downfall of it will be the high KM's but most of the stuff has been replaced.
So I got my $934 invoice for my car.
The part prices aren't bad (windshield was kind of expensive) but the fucking labor:
208 to replace the rear brake cylinders
116 to flush the fucking brake lines
116 to "unseize" the front breaks and inspect them
Anyway, Glad I can get this car on road, never taking it to a shop again as long as I can help it.

pretty much everything except the one part I have to replace on mine is in an easy, accessible place but that one part (a canister purge valve solenoid) is behind the passenger side manifold
fuck that
trying to sort out the wiring on this Bug is going to kill me.
i mean, the other one was *bad* but this one is fucking TERRIBLE. it's becoming fairly obvious that they just mickey moused shit to keep it on the road.
Headlights, turn signals and brake lights work. High beam switch on turn signal stalk doesn't work - probably not hooked up but i haven't looked.
Emergency flasher switch isn't hooked up (the OG flasher/turn signal relay is still there but
apparently doesn't work since someone bypassed the flasher wiring on it with an external flasher relay).
Horn ring doesn't work, someone installed a little push button under the dash that fires off an aftermarket horn. Bah.
Wiper motor isn't working. Not sure if it's because of wiring or if it's a dead motor. Hard to tell since the switch + motor are tucked up right against the dash under the hood and there's almost no fucking room to even look at them. Pulling them out looks like a ton of work too so I'd like to avoid doing that. Likely that the motor is dead, the old ones are pretty infamous for seizing up because they're packed with grease that becomes a hard block of shit over time.
of course none of the wires seem to be the color they should be and all of the wires have been moved to different fuse terminals to make some sort of puzzle game from hell.
i hate electrical work.. some day i'll invest $300 in a wiring harness and put all the wires back in their proper place with their proper color code but it ain't gon be any time soon.
(fucking $110 wiper motor, fff)
general discussion v6: why does my defrost make the right side window go down?

I'd buy the SS/T personally, and whats up with the asterisks?
Don't know, when I copy pasted it from my email my phone did that.
@subaru
It's mostly due to the engine's position, having pistons on both sides takes up alot of space and makes it difficult to reach things that would be piss easy on an inline 4.
Then again, you also get better stability and AWD so, meh.
...and my moms minivan (Chrysler T&C Touring) just randomly stalled yesterday..
I hate this fucking car so much.
i want to fucking die

seriously i dont have money to fix this shit right now
Ouch, that's bad.
Also, am I the only around here who took his license on the first test?

no
driving exam are so fucking stressfull while driving is more: common sense and basic priorities of way knownledge and basic physics.
Sorry to hear you flaunted it but you will do better next time, maybe come a bit more prepared and less stress'd. I remember my driving test, at one time there was a white handicap bus and I didn't know if I was supposed to stop for it or not (like the school bus), I slowed down and went careful state for the examinator to see that I was "maximum old hag safety mod"
A friend of mine realized he'd done shit on the special tasks (for motorcycles, which includes riding at walking speed, braking in a corner, etc.), so he just thought "fuck it, I've failed anyways", and drove completely relaxed. He passed.
What happened?
Well he crashed it
Well he crashed it
lol rly?
no, i was trying to squeeze into a drive through atm and of course the amount of space in those is barely enough, or less, and i ended up scraping the pillar on the right front bumper
the car is fine and its really not that much damage but it looks like shit now and of course the one spot that was hit was the fucking plastic part
So I have a funny story.
My moms boss told me that if I washed the work van, he would pay me 10 bucks.
So from there, I didn't have much to today so I drove it back from the office home to wash it. Though I heard this noise coming from the engine bay and thought to check the oil since it was 2000 miles and a year overdue for its next oil change. So I drove it all the way home, opened the hood and was greeted by this:

It was a squirrels nest? All over the battery and the airbox. I found some plastic bags and two bags of chips. I also found a nice ammount of sand in the airbox.

The McDonalds near my house has a big rubber pad along the building where a steep ass turn in the drive through is, must happen pretty often. Reminds me of when I creeped into a Fiat 500. That groaning sound from the bumper made my heart sink.
sand it down&paint
it was at a bank though. yeah it fucking sucks, and i dont have a job and now i need one more than ever :(
guess ill sue wells fargo now for not having rubber pads
i have no tools to do any of this, i live in a dorm in the middle of the city

here's the tools that you need
I've never heard of a drive through ATM before :v:
Ran over something last night. I was going about 70, suddenly I saw something like 15 feet ahead of me laying on the road. Looked like a piece of concrete, but i couldn't tell; I wasn't able to get out of the lane in time. It made a loud scraping sound as I went over it, I took the next exit off the highway and checked under my car. Nothing looks different, and my car doesn't feel any different, but whoever is responsible for that shit needs to get skinned and thrown into a tub of salt. Stuff laying on roads, especially heavy/ objects can really fuck up a car; I got pretty lucky it didn't smash my oil pain or rip something out from under my car
Thinking about it, its pretty smart
