My friend's Volvo 240 is funny. If you accelerate hard, when you get to around 60 a loud whine comes on that sounds like a "Hey buddy you're going too fast" alarm but it's actually just an A/C fan whining I think Also while opening/closing the windows the lights dim Oh and if you slam the trunk hard enough the antenna retracts for no reason
Ah, only about 1 and a half thousand of those were ever made! (If it is a 92', 92' was a big year for supras!) Is it a turbo or non-turbo?
89 turbo. was all 7mgte lover until I snapped a synapse and went mental with my 1jzgte swap. I don't regret it, it is a proper piece of engineering compared to the POS 7m. Just gotta get my money to do a single swap mhhh
At least here in GA the cameras take a picture of your plate and not your face. So whoever owns the car gets the ticket.
At least here in GA the cameras take a picture of your plate and not your face. So whoever owns the car gets the ticket.
please make that happen in MD!! it'd ruin my mom's perfect driving record though, whoops, sorry mom!
Here in VA cameras and parking tickets don't go against your license. They're just civil tickets, so they don't really mean anything. You just have to pay the fine.
Sounds like he needs a new fan clutch
It also sounds like there is a short somewhere.
Do you think I could fix this bearing? :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/uelkl.jpg[/t]
yeh its fine just put some duct tape on it should be a-ok 100%
my window regulator bent and it doesn't go down without the window going off the track :/. ever since I put my exhaust on I've had a small exhaust leak and could never find out where it was coming from, I'm just going to give it to an exhaust shop.
Pretty sure my thermostat is stuck open, since it seems that fluid is freely flowing through the outlet even when cold.
Do you think I could fix this bearing? :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/uelkl.jpg[/t]
yeah, you could fix that easily with a scalpel
Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck. My control arm has bit the dust. load poping when you would turn... I guess it's time to learn about this stuff :(
Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck. My control arm has bit the dust. load poping when you would turn... I guess it's time to learn about this stuff :(
Dam sorry to hear that do you see anything loose or hanging from the front of the car?
Buy new control arm, install, there you go.
Dam sorry to hear that do you see anything loose or hanging from the front of the car?
No nothing hanging... When you turn the wheel there is a poping noise from the bottom C control arm thing. And tons of movement from the 2 top control arms like sideways movement. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline]
Buy new control arm, install, there you go.
Buy new arms $$$ buy new bushings $ Buy torque wrench $$ ================================ New kit 300$ New bushings around 120$ Splurge and buy kit?
Pretty sure my thermostat is stuck open, since it seems that fluid is freely flowing through the outlet even when cold.
You should prolly re-read what I told you on the last page or whenever that was, as that's exactly what I said was going on.
Yeah, so low impedance injectors fry your fuel computer as soon as you start the car. Themoreyouknow
right so here's a picture of the silly cold start valve that's leaking on my benz It doesn't look complicated right? But when I tell you how tiny it is, it's a real skill not to fuck something up horribly. like this is a good size comparison Never done work on CSV's before but my plan is to remove it from my benz, disasemble, put main body into acid to clean it out, get new rubber sealing (holy shit it's hard to find that o-ring), put back together, hope that it works.
Yeah, so low impedance injectors fry your fuel computer as soon as you start the car. Themoreyouknow
They shouldn't. Going high impedance -> low impedance would fry injectors before frying your ECU. The other way around is how you would usually burn up an ECU.

I would buy a kit and just do it right.
They shouldn't. Going high impedance -> low impedance would fry injectors before frying your ECU. But like, I switched back to the old injectors and let the car sit with the plugs and intake piping out for about 20 hours so the gas would evaporate. Went to start it again today with the same result, car floods to the point it comes out of the exhaust manifold.

Unless you mean it's flooding without cranking it over.
Its flooding while cranking
Yeah, sounds like weak or no spark. Have you checked that you are getting a hot blue spark? The Civic did the same thing when I first put it together like 3 or so years ago, we literally pieced it together and couldn't find out why it was just overflooding the shit out of itself and not running, we had spark and fuel but the spark was orange (weak). Turns out we totally missed a ground, after that it fired up, and for the first few seconds of its new life, it roared an open manifold roar and spit some neat flames. And then Jap freaked out because it was midnight in a quaint neighborhood and everyone was asleep. Anyways. Yeah. Make sure you're getting a good blue spark. Make sure your grounds are making good contact. That's about all I can offer.

I'm just used to know that it would cost me around 80$ for a new control arm with bushing & ball joint in.
I just can't win. Long story short I've been so busy doing shit for everyone else and their dog, I've put off putting on winter tires. I again got fucked today, because My boyfriend tried to in my driveway at 9am (Why YES! Lets change tires on icy driveway at -5...) and they were frozen/shrunk to the Hub (Big fucking suprise) . He lost my freaking Lugnut Key in the process, and now Im fuckin stuck driving on my good alum wheels on salted roads for a week. Great.
calm down, and type that out again... What I got out of it is: - You have been doing a lot of things for everyone, staying busy - Your boyfriend comes to your house and 0900 - You then help him change his tires in the freezing cold - You then lost your lug nut key - Now your complaining about not changing your tires for a week
lol I'm terrible at typing, Part of the reason I don't post alot. I've put off putting tires on because im busting my ass for my boyfriend's dad. Its snowing and they plan to salt the icy roads so Today is do or die, or else It'll take me like 5 hours to repolish the bare aluminum after the salt eats the shit out of it. Boyfriend tried to be a hero and change them in my driveway while i was sleeping because I was mad at him 'bout the work we had to do for his dad all day and I didn't wanna do it due to the salt. Well that doesn't work well at 25 degrees on an icy driveway and he gave up. Now that I got the car to work and washed it, I get an "Oh ya I lost your lock key" AFTER I have the car in the air, and have 4/5 lug nuts off. The reason It's pissed me off so much, is his ungratefull father has done nothing but yell at both of us all day bout how we didnt do what he wanted perfectly, while hes 300km away at the cabin doin nothing. If not for him, They would have been on a week ago no problems.

The only grounds I moved were on the fuel rail, and I put those back on the exact way they came off.
