Guys i'm relocating my starter and alternator to my side mirrors.

why wouldn't changing tires at -5 work?
why wouldn't changing tires at -5 work?
Because metal contracts under cold temperature, thus making everything harder to take off. That and losing the key to remove lock lug nuts won't make it any easier.
(He surely wasn't gonna hit his boyfriend's car with a huge wood chunk and risk scratching his rims off, would you?)
Cold temperature on a icy driveway + jack + human body = bad luck at changing anything under cold temperature. That and when there is risk of damaging anything, or just being scared to, will make you not want to risk it.
Simple understanding you had to do there, opaali.
Fuck cars that have oil filters located conveniently under the exhaust manifold. Not only do I have to quickly remove the oil filter because that fucker gets hot, but I also have to avoid burning myself on the manifold and end up dropping the oil filter full of hot oil by accident
-snip-
That makes absolutely no sense, I didn't touch any ignition components at all, all I touched was the fuel rail. The only grounds I moved were on the fuel rail, and I put those back on the exact way they came off.
check spark, clean grounds and/or move them to a better spot. It makes plenty of sense.
What doesn't make sense is frying your ecu using lower impedance injectors. Or a fried ecu flooding an engine.
Cute little sleeper:

I agree with the fact that it probably has something to do with the fuel system since he messed with it.
but yeah, low impd injectors cant fuck a ecu since they usually drive high imp through a resistor box anyway. Maybe bad solenoids on one or more injectors? bigger than stock and ecu is trying to cold start it with a massive initial spray but end up being bigger than anything because of larger flow.
Don't know...
I'd rule out the ecu by now
edit: is there anything on your Fuel Pressure Regulator that you forgot, like a vacuum line that pull the diaphragm inside?

All my want. Sleeper style is what I want my 240 to be (if you can even make a 240 sleeper at all)

Ah, yeah. Good point, could be FPR bugging. Could also be a number of things injector-wise.
My Toyota's alternator belt went POOF tonight, tried using a shoelace to get home but it didn't last long. I made it about 7 miles on battery power alone, about 3 miles from home it shit on me and died. Called my dad to bring the battery from my Civic and follow me home. Bundles of fun.

For a start, no body kits, stock 4x4 suspension and stock wheels. You'd have to hide an intercooler and you'd only get so much power down with the width of the stock wheels (before mad skidzz everytime you take off).

mad skiddz are good

yes but -5c isn't really enough to cause any problems

trust me i've fixed stuff in -30c

sorry to hear about the belt, at least you werent too far from home. That's one of the good thing of having multiple belts, you can limp home with some gettho tinkering. Serpentine belt on the other hand...
thibking back about the volvo thingy, maybe it is in maximum limp mode (I don't know if volvo ecus has such a protection device) and flooding the engine in gaz because the maf or something is disconnected (user error while reassembling the fuel rail).

So have I, my record's still fixing stuff during a snowstorm at -42c. But not everyone is the same, nor is every cars.
Heck at +20c I had to literally hit like a mad man with those wood pole they use to hold rail guards on the side of the road on the wheels of the 540i here to get them off.
(But the difference here, is that I wasn't scared of scratching the wheels or anything, what probably made Donut's boyfriend back off was probably them being stuck, not wanting to damange them.)
I'm just going to leave this here.
Enjoy it.

I see that pretty much every day. I still play GT2.
why do people think they are superman when it cones to crossing streets...

Cones? Because fuck you that's why.
Agree if you purposely try to tip cones when you drive by them.
Well, I combed 4 junkyards, all non turbo volvos, not a single ECU I could use. Usually there was at least one junkyard turbo volvo.
I did pick up an A/C switch and some nicer sidemarkers, but that won't make my car run.
comes* damn phone

instead of wasting time/money for a new ecu. try to resolve the issue you caused by working on it, your ecu isnt fryed I'M 100% SURE OF THIS

Its time to inspect those capacitors!
ALL OF THEM

When I did the clutch on my car my wheels were like welded with rust to the rotors, I just took the lugs off and kept slamming the car on the ground until the wheel broke free. The front passenger side took like a good 4-6" drop like 4-5 times, by far the sketchyest thing I have ever done with my own vehicle.
It wasn't even that cold, maybe 50f/15c or something.

I did, smelled the board, no burns. Visually, No burnt resistors or capacitors, but I couldn't remove the security screws holding the board in so I have no idea what the underside looks like.
This is really driving me mad, I cleaned the contacts to the two grounds to see if that will make a difference. I might try something again tonight once I put everything back together.
Ok, cleaned the grounds, installed a different FPR, cranked it over with the exact same result.

Maybe you missed one
ITS THAT ONE
THE ONE IN THE CORNER
I KNOW IT
LOOK CLOSER
ITS THERE
I CAN FEEL IT
OR MAYBE ITS THAT ONE
OR THE ONE OVER THERE
BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT ONE
HELP
IT'S NOT THE ECU
(imagine greg house yelling that its not lupus)
IT'S NOT THE ECU

The car has sarcoidosis then?

Then what is it, Switched FPR and cleaned the only grounds I even touched.
