Then what is it, Switched FPR and cleaned the only grounds I even touched.
Were joking
Well I am not, my car doesn't fucking run and I have class tomorrow. I gave up and am getting a mechanic friend to see what I fucked up.
Damn cheap ass 2 peice Bulge lug nuts. The chrome caps fell of about 9 of them. Now they are just Brass open end lugs. On the bright side, I have a set of Solid Chrome Accorns somewhere.
Then what is it, Switched FPR and cleaned the only grounds I even touched.
We cant possibly know because we havent see what you did on the car.
you said you changed the injectors, what about the seals, massive vacuum leak?, dirt go in the fuel rail?, lines, banjo bolts and everything hooked properly, you are sure you didnt leave the tps or something disconnected? how about you fucked up in the wiring and injectors are receiving constant voltage thus opening them all the time.
I don't know abou thte shit you did but I can tell you: ecu's dont just go bad from low imp injectors son.
Here we go, looked up the actual fuel computer information and got this.

I will see tomorrow.
Oh god, Jetronic. There's a reason VW guys took that shit off and run carbs

Bosch is literally the worst EFI manufacturer I know of.
So I'm thinking that maybe I should go for 4th gen Camaro instead of 3rd gen. Even though 4th gen is a good bit uglier, the performance numbers are better. What do you think AA?

completely unrelated but on the topic of Beetle engine fires.. they're still pretty common with carbs - lots of people put a fuel filter in the engine bay hanging off the carburetor fuel intake/fuel pump output fuel line. the brass fitting that the fuel line pushes on to is only pressed in, not threaded.. so enough weight, shaking, bumps etc and out comes the fitting spilling fuel all over your hot exhaust, distributor, coil, generator/alternator.. yea.

imo I would take the ascetics over the numbers - especially for that car

Other option is try and find 4th gen Trans Am.
4th gen trans am looks way better than the 4th gen camaro
If I can find a 4th gen Trans Am for a decent price then I'll probably just go with that. There's one in town that's all black and it sounds AMAZING. Not sure what the owner did with it, but it's an orgasmic sound.
plus trans ams get ram air and you can put a huge obnoxious firebird on the hood

Best part of 4th gen firebird. A black 98-03 trans am with WS6 wheels, you can't go wrong with that shit.
I'd rock a V6 4th gen 'bird though. They're just nice looking. But I need it in black... Black is just the best 4th gen 'bird color. Red's nice too but well overdone.

You are thinking of mechanical jetronic, which is a nightmare. I am using later Jetronic, which isn't as bad.
Mechanical

EFI

No, the Jetronic used in the Beetle is electronic fuel injection. Note that I said EFI.
I've worked on 3 Beetles in my time that have caught fire with Bosch's D-Jetronic EFI, two of them I rewired and the third I switched to carb, one of the two I rewired came back to switch to carb later and the other the engine got pulled out of and put in another beetle and carb'd.
The injectors look a little funny but I assure you it is electronic injection.

If you say so, but I'm used to LH2.X Jetronic so anything else looks foreign.
D-Jetronic does look a bit different (and K-Jetronic which replaced it) but it all works identical in operation, it's not that great of a system and I would never personally use it in my own vehicle given a choice of EFI systems, but that's entirely based on personal opinion and the number of shorts/fires I've seen out of Jetronic systems. It's notoriously well known for fires in Beetles and Mercedes-Benz.
The Beetle always had EFI though (if injected), mechanical injection was used in the Golf and any Golf-based vehicles up to second or third gen, but never on the Beetle. I think it was either because the air-cooled engine was too finicky or there just wasn't enough space for the mechanical fuel distribution system. Keep in mind, during my time restoring beetles, the few that ran with injection (and hadn't caught fire... yet) seemed to run good, it was easier to start them and move them from the lot to the garage throughout winter, but longevity of the wiring seems to be the issue.
Then again, that's practically with any German-built classic. There's a reason I was rewiring Beetles (and other wagens) for a job, after all. Sometimes I miss that job. I made a lot of money. But the owner was a dick. I think he ended up drinking himself into debt and losing his dealership anyways.
i own an mb from 1970 with mechanical bosch fuel injection
am i going to die a horrible death?
[editline]edit[/editline]
Seems like MB used another fuel injection system than on the Beetles because bigger but I have no clue on fuel injection systems other than what they do so please don't shoot me. However MB did make carb cars but were known for breaking down a lot, usually had to be replaced every year if you didn't want it to leak fuel all over the place and cause an explosion. :v:
all info I could find was "get the fuel injected one with better performance, a lot more refined, more willing with the throttle or suffer from having Zenith carbs".
Also did you figure out if it was the ECU?
Mechanical injection wasn't bad about fire, it was bad about not working :v:
oh :v: oh god if mechanical fuel injection goes a bit wonky, think about the horrors of owning a carb benz from 1970.
get on steam whore
R.I.P Mechanical Fuel Injection.
Only thing bad about it is when people dont treat em right....
And let them sit...
What am I talking about the shit sucks.
STILL TRYING TO LOOK FOR A CARB INTAKE FOR A 1.8L 18V
my 300ce has Bosch KE-Jetronic electronically controlled, mechanical fuel injection
neato, best of both worlds
not that it really matters though. huge puddles of oil under the car and its 3 mm below minimum on the dipstick
i'm thinking oil pan leak and rear main seal leak

What kind of motor has 18 valves?

plus dat ws6 package
He means 8 valve.
