So, I bought an X-shaped tire iron at Vato Zone today (partly because I didn't want to wait on my friend with airtools to remove the lugnuts of death, and partly because not having a tire iron is a bad idea in general).
So I get the lugnuts off and...
[sp]...the caliper bolts are also tightened with the force of 1000 suns.

Generally they are supposed to be that tight. Have you ever seen one that fell out? That shit can MANGLE THE FUCK out of rotors, pads, the inside of your wheel, etc.
Take a small sledge and a good hard wrench and get the box end on the bolt, pop it with the sledge until they break loose. This is how I do it every time, it's just easier that way.
Anyone know good ways to piss off tailgaters without brake checking them? I swear if another jeep faggot tailgates me they're gonna end up rear ending me
Pull over and let them pass if you are on a backroad and it is safe to do so.
Alternatively if they don't get the hint that you cant go faster since there is traffic you can lose your shit like I did and throw a fucking screwdriver at them and then slam on the brakes.

Windshield washers at full blast.
Garbage out the sunroof.
Cornnuts out the sunroof.
7 middle fingers out the sunroof.
Speedmatching slow vehicles.
I've actually used like a full gallon of washer fluid on some douchebag who just didn't get the hint, later I cleaned my car out the sunroof and the following things. He didn't seem very thrilled by it though.

my caliper was missing both bolts, still braked fine. only thing that it messed up was small grind mark on itself from hitting the inside of the wheel
You can still brake fine. The caliper is still ON the rotor. It's just not being held in the proper place. If you have large enough wheels, the caliper could have slid completely off of the rotor and it would have been a costly repair.

you mean too small brakes
I hate how this addon look, it makes the vehicle look like a fucking whale or dolphin

That's nice except the mismatched 850 bumper ruins it. I would get it and swap back to a 740se bumper.
Also fuck you and those wheels, I want them :(

Jeez I'm not going to hear the end of this...
A kid at my school died this morning (early morning/late last night). He was the passenger and the driver passed the middle line and hit another car dead on. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
I didn't really know him very well but we did hang out about 2 years ago in our first mod class, very funny kid, he'll be missed.

Its the worst when you're on a bike. You feel so fragile.
Especially if it's some fat bitch in an SUV talking on the phone paying little to no attention to the road ahead.
I almost saw a bike get smeared by a Prelude the other day. The bike, along with traffic went through an intersection, and someone ahead of him stopped to turn or something like a dumbass, halting traffic in the intersection, so the guy on the bike pulled out from the left lane into the right lane, as a prelude was coming through the intersection. Luckily the guy driving the Prelude saw him and downshifted/stomped his brakes. I don't think there was much more than a foot between the cars bumper and the bike. It would have been the guy on the bikes fault though.

dont brake check them, let off your gas and just keep slowing down.

Advanced vato parts parking lot strikes again.
Today I learned that fans are scary stuff. Pulled an oil dipstick out halfway and didn't realize that part of the handle was in the fan's reach. Started the car, saw a bunch of sparks and saw the dipstick disappear. Turned the car off and got out to look for the dipstick, it was laying on the ground about 25 feet away. I can't imagine what it would do to my finger
all right, im not very good with cars and small trucks (im a heavy diesel mechanic) so bare with me here. i have a Chevy 94 1500 with the 5.7lt tbi engine. i NEED better gas mileage... its costing me 100 A WEEK to drive to work... unexeteble! i need help facepunch! how can i get better gas mileage. iv been thinking about adding a tb spacer, and changing the air filter type to something other than the shit stock filter, but idk what else to do. any ideas?
Replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been done in a while
get a kn filter (very minor, if any change. still nice to have though)
aftermarket exhaust
aftermarket headers
alternatively, sell your gas guzzler and buy a golf rabbit

Drive light on the throttle, make sure your tire pressure is at the recommended level, reduce weight in the truck, don't brake as much, use cruise control if you have it, change oil and other fluids, possibly replace air filter.
Yeah, I've got an 88 350 TBI, it likes to drink gas for me too. My commute is less than 10(probably about 15 miles a day, complete estimate though as my odom doesn't work :( ) miles though. I'm sure the 94 is a little different, but I've pulled the silencer out of my stock intake tube, put an Injector spacer in and a big salad bowl thing underneath the air filter. I'd like to chop out the bottom of the air filter out to the diameter of the bowl thing but I don't have any tools to cut it. I've also got a big magnaflow straight through on it. Feels a hell of a lot better than my old beat up rusted out stock muffler.
[editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
And all the filters too of course. Also junk transmission :(
[editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
The longest I've gone without filling up is between paydays, 2 weeks. I'm usually pretty close to empty by then though.
you're not going to get anything better than 12 with that motor

Headers, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Fuel system cleaner, If the cat is very old and getting clogged, maybe consider a replacement, Check fluids,
But for the price a tune-up like that, sell the car and get something economic, the max you'll get with a few mods are probably 1-3mpg or so, not worth the bucks.
Guys today is D day.
Going to look at this other Cabby and estimate whats wrong with it, see if I will be able to fix it or have them fix it (I guess its a pro of buying it from a VW enthusiast that has a VW auto shop)
If no rust on anything I cant fix I will get, and part out my whitey.
To get my whitey to run It's going to require over 600$ in just fuel shit. Just to see if the engine will fully behave. (It ran for like 10sec so Idk)
This other one is 500$ and it sounds like it is having a small fuel pressure issue.
Soooooo Right now I have no job and only a small bit of reserve, if this does not go as plan Audi is taking a hike for 3.5k to get it out of my life.
Speaking of buying cars, I've prepared myself a 131 points inspection sheet to when I'll go look that GTP monday, if it pass my test, I'm probably gonna be coming back home with a mint Comp-G, head at GM and order part #19120589.
Drive light on the throttle, make sure your tire pressure is at the recommended level, reduce weight in the truck, don't brake as much, use cruise control if you have it, change oil and other fluids, possibly replace air filter.
You can pump it around 10% above what the recommended says. You'll only get a tad bit better fuel economy, but it's still something.
Also you shouldn't use cruise control, just hold your foot steady on the pedal, when you get to a hill don't accelerate more, keep the foot on the pedal just like you had before you came to it. Obviously you can't do that on a huge hill, but on small hills it's no problem.
Guys have you ever had something so dear but yet so painful to own that you loved it to much you could not get rid of it? That's the way my Audi has been to me.
1st step done. :saddowns:
http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/3410930161.html
I feel you DPK, if I do buy that Comp-G Monday, I decided I couldn't really afford to own two cars at the right time, because I have stuff to do on my current one. I'm resigning against my heart to get rid of my first car, the one I've had the best moments with, and the worse ones too.
Probably gonna post it at 3k with my 9c1 wheels. Otherwise, if that Comp-G ain't to my tastes, it'll live in my hands longer.
