[QUOTE=DPKiller;38458908]Guys have you ever had something so dear but yet so painful to own that you loved it to much you could not get rid of it? That's the way my Audi has been to me.
1st step done. :saddowns:

I dont know if it is worth that with the problems you listed. I would let it sit at that price for a few weeks and if it doesnt go for anything drop it by about 500.
NADA says 4500 in pristine condition. You would have to at least match the cost to get it back to that.

Indeed you are right. But only major thing is the windshield with slight rust on the roof...
I could restore to prestine but that would cost more money and I already have 9k tied into this car.

DP might I suggest shortening your sell ad. It's quite long and might discourage Audi buyers that are star-struck. Save the descriptions when you're face to face with the buyer.

Fairly clean F22A4 for free, BHG. I'm going to yank the head, put a new head gasket on it, and either sell it or put it in something.
Welp when to go check on this other cabby. Surprise there is now 2! Sadly only one at location.
For 400$ you get a vw cabby with a perfect body with a unknown engine and tranny.

Story has it the owner had a clutch put in it but never payed for said clutch and the shop kept if for 4 years. Keys has been lost. Its around a 86 model and has CIS-E (the horror)
For 400$ I don't believe I could turn it down for a damn good shell.
Why do you keep buying those with destroyed tops. That's one of the more expensive bits...
When (by that I mean IF) you get to replacing that one, go with a vinyl top. Those cloth ones fall apart way too quickly.
I have to say, I prefer that cloth interior. It's really modern looking compared to the white vinyl interior.
Throw your keswitch in it or jump wires across the ignition plug and see if it runs!

send me the mid console <3
My other cabby has that almost exact same center console. Just no cassette holder.
IMO the cassette holder is just cool.

looks like i'm most likely going to have to start job hunting. my pops has apparently gone off the deep end and decided that now that the family business is actually showing the potential to become profitable, he's "done with this" and just going to liquidate the business, sell the van, tools etc etc and get a day job
fucking sucks. i mean, before working for the family business, i applied all over the place and bombed like 5 interviews in a row. i hate interviews, they ask all kinds of stupid bullshit about shit that has nothing to do with the job. i want the company's money, the company wants shit to get done, it's a very simple relationship; i mean you're only going to pay me like $7.25/hr so why does it matter where i see myself in 5 years or what i think my "crowning achievement" is? the worst part is i'll probably end up applying for all kinds of dead-end bullshit jobs that i don't want for a chance at a whopping $200/week after taxes
if he does follow through (this isn't the first time he has said this, this is just the worst he has ever been about it), i'm going to end up having to sell off my truck and probably both Bugs to buy some half decent shitbox to drive my ass to and from some dead end shit job because driving a 2500 pickup that costs me $350 just in payments every month (+ insurance, + gas..) to some dead-end retail job makes no fucking sense and #1 Bug would not survive DD duty (let alone winter DD duty) and #2 Bug is just a giant, gaping money pit that's not going to be roadworthy any time soon (again, let alone DD duty ready any time soon)
ho-hum. it's just silly but whatever, once he gets himself all wound up there's no way to talk him down and for the most part trying to talk him down just gets him more pissy but really he tries to make it sound all selfless like he's doing everyone a favor by shutting down the business but he doesn't think about how it's going to fuck everyone that counts on our business to keep THEIR business running (as he moans on about all the people trying to fuck everyone out of money and all the assholes who don't know what they're doing that do work for dirt cheap)
what the fuck ever. we'll see what happens. if he goes through with it, i probably won't post here much anymore what with the fact i'll probably end up having to sell my truck and both Bugs and i'll probably just be so wildly disappointed with my life at that point i won't really have much desire to work on whatever car i may end up buying as a boring transportation appliance

Interviewers do this because they want to find the potential employees that give a shit. They don't care about where you see yourself in five years and the whole nine yards, they care to see if you were both smart enough and gave enough of a damn to put on a good face and come up with a good answer. Most of these low-end jobs require a moderate amount of two things: intelligence and giving a shit. That's what the questions are there to find out about you.

P.S. - welcome to life
I know this isn't the anime shit but it's car relevant. Initial D isn't available on Netflix. So either 2 things, they're updating or they took it down. I'm hoping its season 5, and not them doing it specifically to ruin my day.
[editline]15th November 2012[/editline]
I'm going for a drive, fuck this.
They have all the episodes up on youtube and "other" places.

Oh fuck, I was just watching Takumi beat Joshima yesterday. Ever since it was on Netflix couldn't stop watching it.
I think it's because their contract is over and with the new Season 5 out it's bound to happen. :(

Does that include the cost of the book?
I have everything needed for a small buggy except a rear axle :(

Will you be the old man that builds the buggy or the young kid that only drives it? :v:
